2013
January 1, 2013

Happy New Year! With 2012 being over with, a fresh new chapter starts today. I’m looking forward to the new adventures that is in stored ahead.

With a new year already here, I might as well list some goals to accomplish for the year. I’m not calling this a “New Year’s Resolution” because I do intend on achieving these said goals. Although I might not guarantee success in every goal listed, I will do my best and if a goal wasn’t fulfilled, it wasn’t meant to be. The first step in creating goals to achieve is to make sure they’reΒ reasonable within my reach.

Education
  • Aiming for a 3.5+ GPA
Considering how this is a goal that has been established before 2013, I’m going to continue on doing my best in all of my classes and aim for a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • It’s Transfer Time!
Hoping that I enroll in all of the classes I need, I am looking forward to apply to different schools as an upper-division transfer student this upcoming fall. I have all of my classes from Fall 2012 – Spring 2014 planned out, which should help me with the process of achieving this goal. Not to mention, having some friends and connection to people who are in the same field as me helps with the process.
  • Teach Me, Teach Me How to Python
Learning a programming language doesn’t happen overnight. I’m giving myself a year to learn how to program in Python during my spare time. Learning Python will definitely benefit me in the future considering how I plan to major in the IT field.
Life
  • Be Financially Fit
I didn’t have much of a trouble with finances last year. I’m hoping to avoid any possible debt this year and not worry much about how I’m spending money. Considering how I have a pretty good self control when it comes to making purchases, I shouldn’t have too much of a problem. Basically, I will continue on eating out at places tastier than McDonalds and avoid spending on a shirt I will never wear… Because that’s how I roll.
  • Eating Healthy
I’m glad to say that I have an acceptable eating habit to begin with. I tend to watch what I eat and avoid greasy/oily food the best way I can. It has been over 5 months ago that I stopped drinking soda completely. There are only 2 exceptions I would make if I wanted to drink soda.
  • Staying Happy & Be a Better Person
I try to be as positive as I can most of the time. There is no use in being negative unless you have a really good reason for it. I find it a waste of time to be a sore loser about something insignificant. You might as well make your time worth living for by being a delightful winner. By being positive, it helps me become a better person.
  • This Awesome Relationship
Although this doesn’t count as a goal, I’m in an awesome relationship as you’re reading this blog post. 2012 was a great start for the both of us and I’m looking forward to a greater year this year ^_^.
Web Activities
  • I’m Blogging and I Know It
Seeing how I don’t have anything new to introduce as an asset to this blog, my goal is to continue on blogging like how I normally do.
  • Knowing My Limits
I currently own 7 domains; mostly for the experience. With that said, I’m getting rid of 2 domains this year. I would like to get rid of 3 except I have to keep one of them for my mini hosting project-thing. So my goal is to limit my domain count and get rid of the domains that I don’t have an acceptable purpose for.
Entertainment

The items listed under this section is not really considered a goal because I can’t absolutely fulfill that whatever is listed will happen. But as always, I will try me best in making it happen.

  • Movies!
As someone who likes watching movies in the theaters, I have a list of a few must-watch movies that is coming out this year. Iron Man 3 is on the top of my list followed by Man of Steel, The Wolverine, and Thor. Yup, they’re all superhero movies!
  • X Games: X Fest 2013
For the past 2 years, a few friends from band and I attended X Fest hosted by the X Games. We usually go to this event for the fun of it and looking at the extreme sports venues is pretty cool.

Of course there are more stuff I’d like to accomplish this year that’s not listed here. I’m looking forward into enjoying the year the best way possible.

Oh, yay, I can leave a comment now XD

Anyway, I wish you the best for 2013 and hope you meet all your goals and objectives! πŸ™‚

Keep it up with school and I hope the transfer process goes smoothly for you. I know what you mean about the domain thing, too. I had gone through several domains and websites before giving them up because of lack of time, commitment, and interest. Still, though I didn’t give up entirely, so woot!

You have a good one and don’t stop blogging!

This is a super inspiring post for the new year. You’ve got some amazing goals, but the one that stands out to me the most is knowing your limits. I feel like we ALL take on so many projects that we forget to look back and realize that we’re only human!

Happy New Year! That’s a good list of goals πŸ™‚ It sounds like you’re already doing well in your classes and staying healthy, which is awesome. Hopefully it’s easy to just continue all of that! I slip on the eating healthy thing, so I think I need to work on that more this year.

I’ve had the same goal about domain names too. I have 7, but I’m thinking about getting rid of 3. Would save money too!

Ooh, I love super hero movies. I’m looking forward to seeing more too. The Marvel ones have been pretty good lately πŸ™‚

Can you believe that 2013 is already here?! 2012 flew by so fast… :p

All the goals you set are so inspiring πŸ™‚ Definitely a great way to start off 2013 with a bang!! Your life goals are similar to my life goals too, except for the relationship part (I’m forever alone haha πŸ˜› ) but it’s so great to hear that you are in such an awesome relationship! So happy for you πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ <3 <3

Whoa… you own SEVEN domains?! That certainly is a lot!! You do a great job with keeping up with them though! ^_^

Good luck on accomplishing all of your goals… you can definitely achieve them! πŸ™‚ May 2013 be filled with lots of love, laughter, and fun times! Cheers! πŸ™‚

If you’re looking to learn Python (which is an awesome language), the tutorial at Codeacademy covers all the basics and you can look up everything else at the official Python site . You will certainly not regret it!

Your goals for 2013 are awesome. Keep it up! I wish you luck in your academics, your transfer, and your relationship! Fingers are crossed that you’ll get invited back to Cyber Camp again.

You have a good set of goals. I love how you have them all sorted out into groups. It looks great!

I would like to wish you the best of luck with your goals!

    Happy new year Nancy!

Lol this list is pretty long so I’d call it resolutions, but if you can handle it, then go you!

Wow your GPA is so high, and you are definitely going to keep it because it’s obvious you know what you are doing! I can’t remember, are you in a state school or community college? Basically why are you transferring? Sorry my brain is tired!

Haha I should add financial and health to my goals. I have $0 in savings thanks to bank account. And I still eat too much junk food!

You are lucky to be in an awesome relationship. I don’t think you’ve ever written about it though!

LOL that’s a lot of domains!

You are right, entertainment is easily fulfilled! You always go to lots of events so this list should be a longer list with lots of checkmarks, hehe!

    ———————

Yeah Christmas is just a chance for you to see family and old friends and give gifts, and you can incorporate Jesus if you want! You haven’t heard about Mia in forever because I haven’t seen her in forever! But Christmas gave me that chanc!

LOL lucky them! I didn’t know that people can actually sneak in underaged since you’re supposed to card anyone who looks under 30! But I do know that my brother Jason, who is younger than my brother Arron (the one always getting carded), sometimes doesn’t get carded if he’s going to a bar or buying beer! He is 22 though.

You don’t need to see the ball drop lol. It’s not that fun. Watching it on TV is enough. I wish you would do something like that in LA because it’s not cold!

Urgh Jason is just lazy, he says he doesn’t want to handle both grad school and a job. Everyone does that hmmmmph.

Wow your friends seem careless … I mean of course there’s always a chance of getting pregnant if you are gonna have premarital or marital sex, but a good portion of them? It sounds like they are all not responsible. Most couples are responsible and just take the tiny risk that you can get pregnant. And most of them don’t get pregnant, so it’s totally fine!

LOL wow going on our 3rd year! I wish I could have this good of a relationship with a dude, hehe! Take care!

Happy New Year, Nancy!! Those are some great goals and I hope all of them are reached!! You can do it~!!!!!!

  9. Christa β˜† January 2, 2013 at 3:14 pm

Happy 2013 and good luck with your goals. I don’t ever set goals for every day life, which may be a bad thing. But I did set a resolution (as a joke) to stop falling for the wrong guys. Haha. I think I already broke it.

And honestly I don’t think I have a flat stomach, when I look at it I see chunky pieces.

Study well and good luck on your studies. I know for sure you’ll go far in the IT field, as for me, I wanna try programming too, but not until I master web designing, I’m still learning how to do it til now. >_>

I wish you and your boyfriend the best for 2013. I really like you both, stay loving and strong for each other despite the trials you’ll encounter for the year.

Good luck on your goals for 2013! I hope you get to accomplish everything~

    Happy New Year.

Good luck on your grades! And I hope you get to transfer to a school you want to. I’m pulling teeth to make it to my own schooling finish line so whenever I hear about others having aspirations it just makes me want to give out a loud go for it! So go for it girl! πŸ™‚

Aww, I hope this relationship is long-lasting with lots of lovely memories. πŸ™‚

Thanks for cluing me in on The Wolverine. I had no idea. I can’t believe they are coming out with another wolverine movie. I know we liked him best in the X-men movies (at least I did) and loved his first origin film but really? A whole movie franchise on Logan? It’s a risk, I think.

  12. Becca β˜† January 3, 2013 at 12:15 pm

I like to call them goals, too. Resolution sounds so formal and… definite. I feel like I’m already failing just by calling them resolutions. πŸ˜›

I have the same GPA goal as well! I’m actually aiming a bit higher, but the 3.5 gives me a little bit of wiggle room for more difficult classes. You were able to achieve it last semester, so I know you can do it again. πŸ™‚

I think last year I really learned my limits on how much of an online presence I can have. I tried to create a travelblog and run that as well on my blog, which utterly failed, so I know this year what my constraints are. I hope to blog more to.

Good luck accomplishing all your goals and here’s to a great 2013!

  13. Kayla β˜† January 3, 2013 at 7:48 pm

Looks like you are very determined! It’s great to have something to work towards, good luck with everything and I hope you have a wonderful 2013.

  14. Michelle β˜† January 3, 2013 at 8:20 pm

I wish you the best in all your goals! I know that you can do it. I too, have a list of goals that need doing like learning how to drive, getting a job etc; stuff that is practical and needed to survive especially here in my city since it doesn’t have a bus system. Boo

    Happy New Year!

  15. Gretch β˜† January 5, 2013 at 9:07 am

Good luck with your goals πŸ™‚ I love how they’re all so positive and focused on being a better person. It looks like you won’t have any trouble achieving these. πŸ™‚

I hope 2013 will be a great year for you. πŸ™‚ I’m looking forward to those Marvel movies too πŸ™‚
