Adventures in July
July 13, 2013

With 3 weeks finished with my Business Law class, I have 2 weeks to go. I’m enjoying the class with the jokes the instructor makes about the course material and whatnot.

“Did you know that an electrician is supposed to have a license to practice? It’s shocking that some don’t.”

On Tuesday, I had a midterm and I scored an 89%. It’s decent considering how I winged the midterm without studying. On Thursday, I had to take another test for the class. Then again, this is a 16-week course compressed into 5 weeks. It makes sense for things to go by fast. On a side note relating to school, I can officially register my classes for the fall next Tuesday! I have 5 classes in mind and I hope I can enroll into all of them considering how I have the second day of priority registration.

On my previous blog post, I mentioned declining the invitation to attend cyber camp. I planned on e-mailing the camp host about declining the invitation on Wednesday until she e-mailed me on Tuesday (the day before) offering me a scholarship covering tuition, room, and board; but I still have to pay for transportation. As delighted as I am, I accepted the invitation and it seems like I am going to cyber camp next month after I purchase my airplane tickets.

Moving on to the adventures of the week, my boyfriend and I made some Spicy California Rolls on Monday. This is probably the best rolls made out of all of the sushi I made so far. The ingredients used make the rolls were consistent; there wasn’t too much rice or too little crab meat in every roll. The next day, we went on a short trip to the Hollywood Reservoir. It’s a beautiful and *hidden* place in Los Angeles since you have to drive up through small streets to get there. On Thursday, we went to a park and rented one of those deuce coupe bicycle and rode around the area. We dropped by 7-11 afterwards for some free slurpees as a treat for ourselves. Last but not least, there was Friday.. We decided to watch Pacific Rim. Must I say, this is a legit movie considering how the story line consists more combat/action and less of those *romantic* scenes. With that said, I am highly disappointed in the Transformers films because they include too much human ineractions and not enough robots action. The only “pro” side of the series is the choice of cars for Bumblebee. I totally dig the Camaro (or at least in Transformers 1, 2, and 3. Transformers 4 ruined Bumblebee/the Camaro; that’s just me). Before I go on with my admiration of the car and movies, I guess that’s all for now!

    Learning a semester’s worth of material in 5 weeks is something I remember doing when I took math classes over the summer during high school. It was hectic, but fun in its own way. Am I the only one who thinks that? o.O

    Course registration is a gruesome process if you’re not prioritized favorably, at least that’s what I heard from those who attended bigger universities. It seems like yours is okay right, given that you’re on the 2nd day? What are those 5 courses exactly?

    BTW, the reservoir picture looks magnificent, almost magical. 🙂

    Ahh, hahaha! I love punny jokes! 😀

    Good luck on fall registration, I hope you get all the classes you want. My college starts registration for fall as early as March, so I registered for the rest of my classes needed for me to graduate in December, hooray. 😀

    Congrats on cyber camp, I wish I could go with you!

    I was going to go see Pacific Rim but we ended up seeing The Heat with Sandra Bullock which was HILARIOUS…you ought to go see it. I’m going to see Pacific Rim probably sometime this week.

    I’m glad you’re enjoying your Business Law class! Good job on your midterm too! That’s a good grade, especially for not studying.

    That’s awesome that you’re attending the cyber camp after all 😀 Congrats on the scholarship! It sounds like that email came at the perfect time, haha. I can’t wait to hear about it when you go next month.

    Ooh, your sushi rolls always look so good. I usually prefer the spicy version of rolls. I saw Pacific Rim too! I have to admit that when I first saw the trailers, I thought it was going to be a bad movie. I was pleasantly surprised by it and enjoyed it. It reminded me of giant robot Animes I used to watch, haha.

    Woot! You’re so lucky you got the scholarship and everything (minus transportation fees) for that cyber camp. I’m glad that gave you the boost to go! Enjoy the camp 😀 I’d love to hear more about it!

    I’m slow, so it took me a while to understand your professor’s joke. ;x HOWEVER, I understand it now, and it’s rather hilarious. :p

    Getting to go to camp on a scholarship is always nice! My BFF in high school was able to go to church camp with me via a last minute scholarship. It really makes a difference. 😀

    I didn’t really have much interest in Transformers, but I think that’s because Megan Fox was advertised about for many of the movies, and I’m not really a fan of her. She’s a pretty good actress, but she’s so over-advertised that I just get annoyed, thus annoyed with what is associated with her. Pacific Rim is a movie I’ve actually never heard of…

    You’re very lucky to have gotten an invite to cyber-camp! I have just received an acceptance thing for a Pell Grant, but I doubt that I will go this semester due to transportation issues. My boyfriend really wants me to go when he starts so I will do that with him. Hopefully I can get it next semester as well.

    Might I ask you what kind of phone you possess? I also wanted to let you be aware that I had changed my domain to (my blog that is!).

    HAHA that’s a great joke! And you did so well on the midterm! Second day priority sounds like it will be in your favor to get the classes you want!

    I remember you had fun at cyber camp before so that’s great you are getting a scholarship for it!

    haha spicy california rolls are so good. I keep hearing about Pacific Rim and now I wanna see it!

    Lol at the joke. can I call it dry humor? 😛

    congrats on the score! ah, I wish I have your brain to score good in mid term without actually studying… I wish I had that back in high school, especially for physics so everyone won’t have to look at me as if i’m the stupidest in class -__-;;

    hm, what’s a cyber camp? o.o never heard of it, to be honest. when i read “camp” i thought it’d be something like summer camp study lol. whatever that is, congrats on the scholarship! as expected from a bright student ;P

    wow, dang! That’s a lot of sushi rolls you got there! so enviousss *o*

    Pacific rim was damn badass! the plot was brief, simple but the whole cliche-ness was blocked by the amazing massive CGI, effect and crazy kicking and punching of robots and aliens haha
    Glad to know that I’m not the only one who got reminded of transformers when I watched pacific rim. transformers is cool but yeah you gotta admit things get pretty tiring soon… especially now that they’re making the fourth movie -__-;;

    I personally think transformers 1 and 2 were alright until the 3rd one came kicking it. the whole romance/human interaction thing blocked the supposedly interesting history/artifact about where does everything comes from – the enemies and whatnot. meh. -__-;;

    everyone seems to like bumblebee~ hahaha he’s fun but my favorite has got to be optimus and/or ironhide ;w; the camaro’s really awesome though 😉
