Moving Back to School
September 23, 2015

On Monday, I moved back to the University Village (apartments). It was a miracle that I only needed one trip to move all of my stuff to school. I joked to myself about the what-if scenarios such as, “what if I was still driving my small sports car? how many trips would it take?“. But thankfully, my car is big enough for all of the things I had from my entire desktop to dinnerware. The only thing I forgot again was my Magic Bullet but that’s iight.

I’m in a different room this year where my room is connected to the bathroom and a private patio so that’s more convenient for me. My desk setup is a bit more spacious this time with the keyboard in the desk slider instead of being on top of the desk. I’m happy with my room layout in general with all of the free space in the middle of the room thanks to our furniture arrangement.

Date Night at Ootoro v.2

Last night, my boyfriend took me out to eat at Ootoro! This place is a high end Japanese restaurant and it was an amazing experience. We ordered items off the menu but I hope to try out the Omakase some day in the future.

We ordered kumamoto oysters with uni and ikura, uni shooters, ika with mentai caviar, kurage (jellyfish) sashimi, uni with mango, and fried squid legs (not pictured). As for the main course, I ordered the “mixed sashimi with uni and eel bowl”. It was a lot of food for the both of us and it’s certainly worth it! In addition, I tried out the Mio Sparkling Sake and I really liked the sweet taste. All of the dishes was delicious and worth the price tag. My favorite would probably be the kurage because it has a crunchy texture in every bite you take (where else can I buy more of these?!). My least favorite is definitely the uni shooter because of the alcohol. I realized I’m pretty picky when it comes to alcohol because I only like the ones that are sweet and fizzy.

School starts tomorrow and time to have another nice year!

Woot! I’m glad your move only took one trip. But I had to google Magic Bullet because I’d no idea what that was LOL. Google tells me it’s a . . . blender? Is that what you forgot?

I love your desk setup, by the way! So clean and organised. You should see my work space. It’s a total chaos, but organised (sort of) chaos, haha! I adore your desktop wallpaper and those stuffed animals at the top!!! EEEE! Great idea putting them up there 😀

I’m glad your experience with the high end Japanese restaurant was good! It’s good to treat yourself once in a while, so it’s great you were able to do so with your boyfriend.

Anyway, glad to hear you settling in for your final year of college! Good luck, Nancy!

Mmmm food looks good! Glad you got a chance to try out the restaurant, and hope you get to try the Omakase some time. 🙂

That’s good that it only took one trip to move your stuff. And yay for having more space!

Best of luck with school and I hope you kick ass! 😀

I have not been able to comment but I have been reading. I think of it as being so weird to have to move for school. Never even had to think of it. The only real decision was bus pass for parking pass, and afternoon classes vs morning classes. LOL. The food looks really good! I always find Japanese food to be really colorful. Hope your school year goes great. 😀

I’m glad you didn’t experience trouble in moving your stuff. Haha, I experienced the same back when I was about to move into the dormitories. haha Have fun in school! 🙂

Your desk looks neat haha wish I could say the same to mine haha. 🙂

It’s good that you only had take one trip to your apartments. Shame you forgot your Magic Bullet, though 🙁

My place in first year had an ensuite, as well. So convenient! How fancy that you have a private patio. Will be nice for chilling. Love the setup of your desk!

Oh my gosh, the food looks amazing <3 Good luck for the rest of the school year!

Good luck with the new semester! I’m already well into mine, and I’m doing good so far. That’s a nice arrangement that you have in your apartments. I remember living in student apartments, but I couldn’t do it anymore, because every student would get super drunk every weekend and it was a nightmare. Hopefully, you have a better experience than I.

That is one of my favorite things about my car – it’s still a small car but I can fit so much stuff into it! After summer break, I have so much stuff to bring back but somehow it magically always fits! I think it’s a testament to good packing skills as well. 😉

Dinner looks so delicious! It sounds like a perfect date night to just treat yourself. Best of luck as school starts up!!

Your mouse is so tiny and cute! XD Sounds like your move went smoothly and you got a pretty nice room.

I wanna try all those foods! They look so good! 😀

Student accommodation with a private patio? That sounds so dreamy! It’s amazing how much stuff we accumulate. I remember moving to university when I moved into halls of residence and being squished up against the door of the car because I’d packed too much!

I hope this new school year is a good one!

That’s great that it only took one trip to move everything! That saves a lot of time 🙂 I also like how your desk looks. Very clean and organized!

Ooh, that food looks good, especially the mixed sashimi one. I’m a big fan of unagi. I’m the same way with alcoholic drinks too. I prefer sparkling and/or sweet ones. I think that’s why I like ciders so much.

    I hope school goes well!

Your desk setup is so cute! I wish my room was more spacious so I could set it up like an office!

THE FOOD LOOKS SO DELICIOUS! But I’ve never had oysters before… I’ve heard they’re super good though. But I’m a texture eater so I’m not sure how I’ll like that LOL.

Ootoro is actually really close to where I live. I might take my parents there some day, I don’t know. I don’t think I’ve ever had really expensive Japanese food–normally our bills are over $100 because we just order a lot, particularly sashimi.
