I spent a few days in Beaverton, Oregon (a few miles west of Portland) this week thanks to client work. This was a pretty exciting opportunity for me- especially since I haven’t been to Oregon before and I got to conduct a workstation security review on my own! I’m seeing some good progress with my work performance~

I boarded the plane on Monday morning and made it to Portland during lunch time. My team and I had ramen for lunch before heading off to the client’s site. The weather is chilly enough to the point where I brought out my winter jacket. It was sprinkling here and there, but nothing too big. Thanks to this trip, I was inspired to order a proper trench coat online.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites and it was a pretty nice hotel. Obviously, I don’t travel all that much. On one of the nights, we went out for sushi. It wasn’t the best sushi experience because of the long wait for the food, but it was pretty okay. I enjoyed the piece of ikura, uni, and a few pieces of sushi here and there. One thing that freaked me out was the time between getting the deep fried amaebi head and the amaebi itself was around 40 minutes. I’m glad I survived!

Compared to Los Angeles, you get a different vibe up in Beaverton. The view is amazing and the trees actually change colors to match the autumn mood. Meanwhile, the folks in LA experience naked or green trees. Otherwise, everything feels the same as far as diversity goes. We ate all sorts of food and didn’t find a shortage of anything else.

I also got to drive our Jeep Patriot rental and it was sluggish. Remind me to buy a Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 coupe when I’m ready to buy a SUV 😅.

Overall, I enjoyed the trip. I didn’t get a chance for any sight-seeing because of the workload. Hope I’ll have a chance to come back soon~

Oh, I’m loving the tree photos! The leaves are starting to change colours here, and I’m loving it! I can’t wait until the leaves are fully changed! I am not fond of red, orange, yellow, or brown, but I love them on the trees 😀

I love the jean jacket you wore in that photo! It definitely reminds me of autumn 😀 I’m all about hoodies right now, but seeing your jean jacket makes me want to invest in one now 🙂 A trench coat, too!

It’s a shame you didn’t get a chance to really sightsee the area, but at least you’ve been there and even felt the different vibe there compared to LA! Did it feel more relaxed, you’d say? I envision LA to be like Seoul — always busy and fast, but Beaver-Town makes me think it’d be a slower-paced and such XD

Ahh… Fall is just beautiful. The changing of the colors of the leaves is just <3. Although it's a lot of work when they start falling. T_T

Yay to the new Trench Coat! and will be looking forward to you buying your dream ride. =D

Your photographs are amazing! Like, wow!

It’s awesome that you have a job that allows you to travel. Even though you might not get to sight-see, you’ll get a small glimpse into other people’s world and thats pretty cool all in itself.

It’s also pretty cool that you get to travel with a team. What a great way to get to know one another.

I’m glad you enjoyed the work trip!

LOL @ the Jeep. Yes so true! I’ve had to drive them a few times now and they’ve always felt sluggish. Surprisingly the Prius has been the best rental I’ve had so far.

I haven’t driven a Prius before, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the new ones drive better. Like other cars, you gotta pay more for a beefier SUV D’:

Traveling is fun if you get to experience the environment :). Hehe, I trimmed off ~3 inches of my hair last week.

It looks really pretty there and nice and crisp with the temperature. It is still hotter than the hinges of hell here. It probably won’t really cool off until middle of nov.
I really need to visit other states someday… Your post is making me want sushi now lol

That’s awesome that you got to travel somewhere that you’ve never been before, courtesy of your work! Even though you didn’t get to spend any time sightseeing, you still got a glimpse into the city and their way of life. And inspiration to buy a trench coat! (Pictures of that when you get it in, please! I love your style!)

I love the changing colors of the leaves during fall. We usually get a lot of color in St. Louis, but there are some places that are definitely way prettier, so I’m glad you got to see that! It’s definitely one of the best things about fall. 🙂

I’m glad you had a good trip!

Their weather is also an entirely different environment XD. I’ll definitely post pics with my trench coat when it gets cold in LA ;). I’m totes jelly of the autumn leaves. Meanwhile, there are trees that stays green here LOL.

Nice trench coat! I have a proper one but errrmmm I think it is too long and I haven’t really worn it. How silly of me. 😛

It sounds like it was a great opportunity to travel but unfortunate that you didn’t get much time to sightsee. But you got sushi! That is important! That is life! (I had sushi in Perth and that made me happy, haha.) Even if you had to wait a while for it. Wouldn’t you do anything for sushi?! I’m hungry now hahaha.

That’s probably going to be me because LA is always hot D’:. Yes! I usually judge the city by their sushi XD.
