A Bit of Valentine’s
February 14, 2016

Happy Valentine’s Day! It should be an enjoyable holiday whether you’re single or mingle. It’s easier said than done, but at least positivity is involved. Let’s wish everyone nothing but the best and if people are happy the way they are, who are we to judge or criticize them? Just a thought…

My boyfriend and I had a pretty swell Valentine’s Day. The great thing about being together is that there are always new things we learn about each other. I suppose that’s part of the process in a relationship and I hope that we keep on learning new things about each other whether it’s the good or the bad. No one is perfect and we should try our best to pursue the betterment of one’s self.

We had a dinner date at TGI Friday’s and had some tasty food & drinks! Even though my long-term goal is to consume less red meat, it’s hard to resist a good cut of steak! Does it help that I chose a 6oz steak instead of a 10oz?  I enjoyed our dinner date and enjoyed watching Deadpool even more. Out of all of the superhero superpower(?) movies I’ve watched so far, this is probably the most comedic one with a bunch of legit ass-kicking action.

As awesome as my boyfriend is, he brought me a lovely bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates. I always love the flowers he chooses- it’s pretty neat to see different arrangements in a bundle every time. These flowers also smell great too! As for the chocolates, I haven’t eaten them for a while but I guess it’s time to go back to my chocolate-eating habit 🍫.

Lastly, shopping completes Valentine’s Day! I treated myself to a nice knit sweater from Abercrombie (When will I be “grown up” enough for Banana Republic?) and sold my soul for an eye brow pencil from MAC 😹.

Hope your Valentine’s Day was great and relaxing!

Happy Valentine’s Day to you and your boyfriend, Nancy! It’s clear you guys had a great day together! Seeing you going to TGI Fridays make me miss that place! Of all the “family” restaurants, that one is my favourite along with Bennigan’s. Really need to go back to one of those.

I’m not a steak person, but your steak is looking super delicious! Good on you for choosing the 6 oz instead of the 10 oz, but I think eating red meat every once in a while won’t hurt you.

The flowers your boyfriend chose for you — lovely! I can tell that he has great taste. So sweet of him to get you that and the chocolates!

I love the sweater you picked! It is so you! Good choice, girl! And uh yay for the eyebrow pencil XD; I know nothing about that, but I’m glad you got one you adore!

Glad you had a great day <3

It looks like you guys had a wonderful date! All your food looks sooo good. I missed lunch so this post is making me so hungry! I haven’t been to Friday’s in a long time cause there aren’t any nearby here, but this is for real making me crave it! Additionally, if you don’t want your chocolates you can send them my way and I will take care of those fore you. 😉

What a cute sweater! It doesn’t matter where you shop as long as you like what you get!

I’m wishing both of you a happy valentine’s day!

Belated happy Valentine’s Day! Deadpool was awesome! I couldn’t stop laughing, although I feel sorry for the kids that were in the theater. It’s an R-rated movie, and their parents still took them. o_O

I’m still not grown up enough for Banana Republic, so you’re fine. XD

I agree! I think if people are happy with Valentine’s Day, then just let them be. No need to rain on people’s parade if you don’t celebrate the day.

I’m glad you had a great Valentine’s Day 😀 That was really sweet of your boyfriend to get you flowers and chocolates. The flowers are beautiful! I think it’s a good day to treat yourself to steak, haha. We normally cook steaks for Valentine’s, though we did Japanese food this year instead.

I’m going to see Deadpool this Friday! I’m excited since everyone has been saying such good things about it. Also, the sweater looks great! I actually never shop at Banana Republic for myself. I like their men’s clothing, so I get stuff for my husband!

It does help that you chose the smaller portion of meat! I can see how it can be a challenge to eat less, but eating smaller portions is a great start, and if you keep doing that, then you can definitely say you are eating less. When you go to somewhere like TGIF I think it is impossible for a non-vegetarian to resist a steak. ?

We only have one TGIF store in Sydney, I think, and I haven’t been there yet, actually. ?

Aw, knit sweaters are nice though, I think a girl should have at least one. They can be really versatile and kinda sexy with jeans or a short skirt and boots, haha.

Nick and I decided to save money this Valentines ?

Mine was spent cleaning and doing homework but it helped me be productive which I was missing. Husband had to work on Valentine’s day even if I was a bit sad about it.

My husband got me some chocolates but it was the day after, on 50% discount Valentine’s Day chocolates. I can’t complain. I normally can’t have chocolate thanks to my dog, but I splurged and promised to be careful.

Glad you had a nice time on Valentine’s day with your bf 😀

Glad to hear you had a great Valentine’s Day! We stayed in this year, which was lovely. Spent the day playing Pokemon (the card game) and Lego Avengers which was so much fun.

Your flowers are beautiful! And I want those chocolates! Sooooo much!

Deadpool is definitely my favourite superhero movie (and maybe even my favourite film of all time, now). I loved how it was both funny and serious, and I really liked the love interest aspect. I didn’t think I would, as Deadpool doesn’t tend to be too lovey in the comics – or at least not the recent ones – but it actually strung the action together really well. can’t wait fo rthe next one!
