Bits from SaturDate
August 17, 2014

This week, I continued to work with my work’s inventory report. On Friday, we finally began inputting the data into our management software. After that, I should be returning to my IT work. It was tedious having to correct some counting or input mistakes but someone has to do the job..

One of our VP’s brought his adorable three-year-old son to work on Wednesday and Friday. The kid somehow became attached to me and was jumpy behind the glass door whenever I passed by his dad’s office. He thinks my name is “Fancy” and says I’m pretty with long hair X’D.

This Week’s Food Adventures

A bit crazy to say, I had Chipotle for the first time on Monday. I went for the burrito bowl- which had steak, beans, mild salsa, rice, cheese, and sour cream. It was ~okay~ considering how the bowl was spicier than I anticipated but the rest of the contents were good. Chipotle is a bit pricey so it’s kind of repelling me from casually coming back. Then on Tuesday, eight other coworkers and I had lunch together at the Persian/Mediterranean food place (again). I decided to choose something different this time and went for a beef wrap instead. It’s almost the same thing as the koobideh (similar to kabob) I had from last week except the beef and veggies are wrapped in powdery flat bread.

Summer Corn Chowder
On one of the days after work, my boyfriend and I had a little meal at Panera Bread. Last year during the spring, we would go on “Panera dates” almost weekly until the semester ended. We both had the summer corn chowder ☺.

Seafood Bowl
Yesterday, we had a SaturDate at MYO Sushi again. I ordered a seafood bowl this time around. The bowl had salmon, tuna, shrimp, albacore, and veggie bits topped with poke dressing. I was hungry so I finished the bowl pretty fast. The awesome thing about this place is during happy hour, the meals are bought one get one half off ☺.

Meow Meow Drinks
Afterwards, we went next door to Meow Meow Cafe and got ourselves drinks! The boba with brown sugar, caramel, iced milk, and pudding was the most popular drink so that’s what we got. I was driving and by the time we got to his place, the little icy/solid bits in the drink melted. Regardless, I really like the drink and the tapioca pearls were really chewy so it was a bonus.

Aww little kids are so precious! That sounds so cute though – will your VP be bringing him back again? (:

YESSS food adventures are always the best. I’m a bit shocked that you just recently had your first taste of Chipotle since it’s become such a big franchise–but I suppose I can’t really talk–I didn’t try it until late 2013. I’ve only ever had Panera once though, but it was delicious! Panera “dates” sounds so cute!
I LOVE boba. The brown sugar addition looks sooooo delicious (:

I recognized the pic of Panera, lol. I love that place. Chipotle is okay… Last time I went the rice was crunchy so I haven’t been back. Before that I liked it but rarely ever went. Those drinks look yummy!

That boba looks GOOD. Om, nom, nom. I can so see why it’s so popular! I’d totally try it 😀

I’m glad you had a good Saturdate with your boyfriend. Btw, I love the word “Saturdate” now. So cute and clever!

The soup bread looks so good. That’s one thing I miss about Quiznos. They had those, but they got rid of Quiznos on base here, so I no longer have access to it 🙁

And that kid sounds so cute! I love how he calls you Fancy, haha! Too adorable! <3

awww a kid has taken liking on you~ nancy got a fan there 😉 i don’t usually like kids and i can’t get along with them so if a kid approaches me, i’d probably hold my breathe and be like, “please don’t kill me, please don’t come any nearer i might hyperventilate” lol

some kids though may be an exception though these kids are usually kids i see on tv screen lmao like if i meet them in real life, i’d probably play with them because they’re adorable. these kids are usually in japanese dramas though *whacked* but yeah, in real time, i’m scared of kids haha (i prefer being a mother of like 100 dogs and cats than babysit a toddler one day LOL)

*googled chipotle* ah, mexican restaurant! i love mexican food ugh there’s not many mexican restaurants hereeee *groans* so jealous of you 🙁
and a burrito bowl at that T-T i’ve always wanted to taste original mexican burrito (;w;) i’m not even sure why i’m so keen on eating a burrito (ahem, taco bells, yeah?)

does corn chowder tastes like creamy corn soup or are they different? i’m still having a hard time differentiating chowder and cream soup 😛 my tongue is stupid. i usually order clam chowder because i thought corn chowder is like the twin menu of cream soup.

hehe they call it seafood bowl, probably because it’s a mix of sashimi and others. in here, such donburi menu (topped with salmon sashimi and tuna, etc) is usually called sashimi bowl xD

i wanna see meow meow cafe interior~ they have adorable name haha were there lots of cat-related stuff in the cafe? >w<
tempting beverages!! at first i thought it was coffee, like a frappuccino or something haha
this is totally unrelated but i really like that your straws are blue and pink~ hehe it's adorable for you and your boyfriend 😛

Yeah! He’s definitely a nancy-fan XD. I normally don’t like kids too. They’re so annoying and everything but this kid is different.. He’s adorable *o*.

Homemade Mexican food is ftw! Just find some beef, bbq it, buy tortillas (or make them at home w/ generic online recipe- probably a lot healthier because of no preservatives), cilantro, onions, tomatoes, sour cream, maybe some salsa, and boom! You got yourself some Mexican food XD… That’s to at least make up for the lack of Mexican restaurants ;~;.

Corn chowder doesn’t taste like creamy corn soup. I think it’s different because there are eggs floating around ~like magic~. I don’t know how to describe the taste besides yummy ;~;.

Honestly, the first words I noticed was Chipotle and then burrito bowl. I was in Chipotle on Friday and had steak tacos. http://now-here-this.timeout.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/tumblr_m52cj9jxGV1qdr16ko1_500.gif It was even tastier because it was free, too. Yay for promotion!

Awww, kids are adorable. I’m gonna call you Fancy from now on 🙂

I love when the tapioca pearls are extra chewy. I really want bubble tea now. You make me crave everythingggg!

I’ve never been to Chipotle; I have heard that it is overpriced for what you get. I’ll stick with Taco Bell when I have a fast-food Mexican craving. 🙂

Boba with brown sugar?? That sounds amazing; I’ve never had my boba topped with anything before. I’m a huge fan of Chipotle, but I think that’s because I really like the way they cook their chicken. If only the guac wasn’t so expensive!

  8. Michelle ☆ August 18, 2014 at 6:58 pm

Looks yummy. Love your food adventures! ^.^

Chipotle is okay, as it is pricey a little bit. I don’t go there because of that. I’ve never been to Panera. I wonder, is it good?

Your VP’s son sounds adorable! Sometimes coworkers bring their kids in too, especially during the summer when they’re on vacation. It can be distracting sometimes, haha.

I had Chipotle so much when I was in college because it was one of the restaurants right by campus. I prefer another burrito place now, so I haven’t been back since I graduated. Your bowls at MYO Sushi always look good! The boba you got sounds tasty too. I don’t think I’ve had one like that before!

Aww, that kid sounds really cute. I bet that was a nice change at work. Hopefully you still managed to get work done with him there.

Wow, that food looks lovely. Sounds like you’ve been having lots of nice meals recently!

I was looking for a program list on Windows 8 too, but I couldn’t find one anywhere. I guess you have to install a start menu if you want an old-fashioned one. It’s so confusing!
    xx

(( Doh. I just wrote a comment, and accidentally hit the back button before I posted the comment *slap self* ))

The food looks so delicious and it’s great to try out new things. 😀 The drinks look so awesome!

I love looking at your food adventures. Your photos always make me crave food and I just want to try out new places.

The chowder looks delicious, although I’ve never tried it before!

Hi Nancy! Thank you for your kind sweet and kind words on my blog 🙂

Anyway, why do you always have good food but stay so slim?! Omg. All these photo of yummy goodies had me craving 🙁 I really miss eating whatever whenever I can now that I’ve been watching what I eat. Haha!

I hope you have a good weekend! 🙂

    • Nancy ☆ August 23, 2014 at 8:58 pm

That’s what everyone ask me… Except I don’t know the answer ;~;. I’m just hoping it doesn’t catch up with me some day XD.
