Hurray for week 3 being over with! I can’t believe how fast time is flying, but it’s inevitable. I had an exam for my forensics class yesterday and it felt like I was going through law school of some sort. This past Saturday, my team participated in a cyber security competition and we did well enough to advance to the next round! It’s pretty exciting because it has been a while since I participated in a competition because of everything that is going on. At the end, I’m glad I’m doing what I do~

Over winter break, I wanted to test my new desktop’s gaming performance. I was looking for a free MMO game that looked cool without taking up 30GB+ of disk space and I came across Skyforge. This game is packed in 13GB, which is pretty amazing. This game is pretty much one of those free to play, pay to win games where you can play for free if you’re fine with the basics/grinding, but if you want to speed things up, you can pay for some in-game credits. Although, the concept of the game is great! In other MMO games, you have to pick a class and stick with it the whole way through. Instead, you can change classes anytime given the fact that you unlocked it (beauty of progression). My favorite thing about this game is that you don’t need healing potions (your character heals fast outside of battle) and don’t really pick up useless junk from monsters. In most games, I usually start out as a mage and end up switching over to a rogue class 🗡️. This reminds me of my World of Warcraft days where I went from an ice mage to a rogue…

A couple of weeks ago, my boyfriend bought Tokaido. It’s a Japanese-inspired game where travelers journey though the East Sea road and experience hospitality, collecting, and visiting places along the way. The first time we played, we had to refer to the manual all the time 😅. It’s a neat strategy game that encourages people to do the side quests along the way rather than reaching the end first. AKA, the longer you take, the better.

I need to stop playing games and focus on my schoolwork…!

On the bright side, I am trying to have a healthier eating habit by having an antioxidant blend for breakfast. I was never a breakfast person because I didn’t like the choices available for a typical breakfast. I realized it was a bad thing because I wouldn’t be able to focus between 10am and lunchtime. So far, the blend is bearable.

Last week, my work was testing their man-made mist system for a new Disneyland attraction… Just kidding! But we did create some systems for some of their attractions though! It was an amazing experience to walk through the mist because you can’t see long distances when you’re in the mist (think of the background full cars). The cool thing is that when you’re in the mist, you actually feel cold!

I thought Tokaido was a computer game at first, but upon a closer look I see that it’s a board game. It looks super neat! I love the colourful design on the board. The design is so pretty! I’m glad you and your boyfriend are playing that 🙂

And woot for finding an MMO you like and that doesn’t take up a lot of space and is free 🙂 MMOs aren’t for me, but I can see their appeal to a lot of other gamers 😀 Don’t overdo it and sacrifice your coursework on them! XD

That mist thing looks neat! I think it’s interesting that it also feels cold. That photo of you in front of the mist — awesome! ^^ I love how you pose like that in many of your photos. That pose is so you, and it’s what I call the Nancy Pose now!

I had to take a contract law class a few semesters ago for my business degree… I could never do law school! XD

Tokaido looks really interesting! I’ve never heard of it before, but the board looks so pretty! Andrew loves to play board games, so I’ll have to look into it. 😛

I always love your outfits, Nancy! You look so cute in that list picture!

Congrats on doing well in the cyber security competition! That’s exciting that you’re going to the next round 🙂

Oohh, Skyforge sounds fun. Sometimes I think about returning to the MMO world, and then I remember my game backlog, haha. They can be really addicting and take up a lot of time! I always like playing as a healer in those games and had a few in WoW. And the board for Tokaido is really pretty! That sounds like an interesting game, especially since it has side quests.

That’s some thick mist! Pretty cool that your company works on things like this 🙂

The game looks pretty cool!!! I thought it was a wallpaper at first until I looked at it deeper. Where can you buy this game?? The mist looks straight out of a movie scene. It probably was warmer than it looks!

I bought Tokaido (board game) from Amazon :). There are expansions available, but I haven’t checked them out yet. It’s a pretty fun strategic game! 🙂

I just realised that it’s the end of the month on Saturday. I simply have no clue where time thinks it’s running too. Please slow down D:

Congrats to your team for advancing!

Admittedly, I am not a big gamer. The only games I play are Sims 3 (I like drowning my Sim and setting them on fire. Sadistic, I know) and Kingdom Hearts on my PS2. My friend at work is a massive WoW player; half the time I have no clue what he goes on about. Haha.

Tokaido looks legit, damn! Your outfit is hella cute :3

Tokaido sounds interesting and at first, I too, like Tara, thought it was a video game until I realized and studied the picture! It is a cool board game that sounds pretty fun, but sadly, no one would probably play it with me. At least, I have the game, CAH and Exploding Kittens. 😀

Congrats on doing well on the cyber secruity competition – that’s great 🙂

I’m not a huge gamer but I looked up Skyforge and it looks fun, I’ll have to check it out when I’ve got more time/less schoolwork to be getting on with

Love the photos in this post! That game looks really interesting, even if all I’m seeing is a lot of colour. 😀 Strategy games are pretty fun compared to other games. I need to get more into board games. ? With most games I guess you would have to refer to the manual all the time in the beginning. 🙂

That is really, really cool you got to create some systems for Disney attractions. It sounds like such a privilege. 😀 Mist is pretty interesting, when you’re driving in it you have to have your foglights on too… :O
