Week II of Bronconess
October 12, 2015

Week 2 of school was pretty good. My ~engineering~ class is practically a finance class where the math is done the long way. It benefits me that I understand the mechanics of PV/FV/NPV or else I’d be totally lost! Other than class, my forensics club is doing great so far. I finalized a standard e-mail template to send out each week and the operations of the club looks promising this school year.

  • Had lunch with Boss Man at a Vietnamese restaurant last week. I ordered bún bò Huế (spicy beef noodle soup) and it was pretty decent for what it is since it can’t compare to my mom’s version. Bún bò Huế is my favorite Vietnamese noodle soup because of the rich flavorful soup even though I don’t like spicy food.
  • My boyfriend made dinner on Tuesday night. He prepared huaraches, which is a Mexican version of personalized pizza or an oversized sope… To me at least! It was pretty tasty and kudos to my boyfriend for making dinner~
  • PS. Animal style fries from In-N-Out = ♥.
  • Started playing Forza Motorsport 5 on my boyfriend’s Xbox One. First official console game! (Currently driving a Camaro ZL1 in-game.)
  • My boyfriend and I went to the school’s Hot Dog Caper and got freeeeee hot dogs! I ended up getting 4 hot dogs and loaded them with relish 😹.

On Friday, my boyfriend and I had our first FriDate of the school year. We went to eat at a sushi place that also served uni bowls! A bit funny since I mentioned that I wanted to try an uni bowl elsewhere last week. The uni bowl here is different because roe is served as a topping instead of some pickled mix I forgot the name of. The price is practically the same and it all comes down to preference. I prefer the uni bowl with roe except this place is a lot farther from my place and the traffic is pretty bad. I’m okay with sticking to the old place for convenience (especially with takeouts). Aside from the uni bowl, my boyfriend and I ordered a pair of oysters and salmon roll to share. The oysters here are cheaper than other places nearby and it doesn’t have a funky taste. Can I have more?

YUM. Not a seafood fan, but everything still looks so good! Glad the oysters turned out to be great along with the roe uni bowl despite it being farther away with horrendous traffic.

I can’t believe you got 4 hot dogs! I can only manage two! XD I usually load mine up with ketchup and onions! Love chopped onions on my hot dog!

Yay for boyfriend making you the huaraches! It sounds good 😀 And woot for going out with the Boss Man for Vietnamese food. Thanks to you, I find myself craving some pho now!

Glad to hear your classes are going well :3 Good thing you’re good at math! I know I’d be struggling with all that XD

I cheated a bit because I tossed the buns away XD (body doesn’t like breaddy things). If there were grilled onions, that would’ve been great!

Go treat yourself to some amazing pho ;).

Yay! Fridates are the best. That uni bowl looks so interesting, too. I’m not even sure why I want to try one right now, haha!

Glad Week2 went well for you! 🙂 I love it when classes help you in other classes later. It makes life so much easier. Hope Week 3 treated you the same way! ^-^

YOU MUST TRY SOME! If you’re ever up in the Diamond Bar/Rowland Heights area, let me know and I’ll toss the suggestions your way ;). Hope you’ll have a great quarter, Amandapanda!

    Darn it, Nancy!

The food is AMAZING! I’m dying of hunger now *drools*

I’m glad that school is going well and you’re having a great time with your boyfriend.

I’ll have to order bún bò Huế some time because that looks delicious 😀 The huaraches your boyfriend made also looks great and piled with so many tasty things. And yay for your first FriDate of the school year! All of the food looks so good!

You must try it one day! But hopefully it’s good because I’ve tried some that are a total miss ;~;. I suppose the only warning I can give is that they have the typical pork blood blocks. I can personally eat it but some others are sensitive to it (and that’s fine). Hope you’ll find some good ones ;D.
