Week VII of Bronconess
February 17, 2015

Class registration for the spring quarter came along earlier last week. I signed up for Interactive + Responsive Web Development (yaaay), Intro to Systems Analysis + Design, Managerial Finance II, and Principles to Management. The course load doesn’t look too bad and I’m excited to finally take a web development class! But first things first: surviving this quarter. Despite of taking three of the hardest core classes at once, I’m managing the best I can given the circumstances.

My boyfriend and I had a FriDate eating sushi and watching Kingsman. This sushi place is much better than the previous one we went to in December because the fish:rice ratio was on point and they had uni!  My favorite “roll” throughout the night was the Jen Jen Roll (spicy crab and avocado wrapped with salmon) because it had no rice. We enjoyed watching Kingsman (but moreso my boyfriend because of the whole gentleman/suits theme) ☺.

Here’s another week of my “long story short” adventures:

  • Helped a friend with their Java project and got treated to eat at a Korean BBQ the other week.
  • Celebrated another friend’s birthday at Jazz Cat Shabu last Thursday.
  • Went for a few rounds of bowling with the birthday groupie on Sunday.
  • Went on an Uni Bowl run twice within a week. The first time was on Friday night when I was trying to do my Database assignment and the second time on Tuesday when my boyfriend’s siblings came over and was curious about it… I have no regrets ;).
  • Started to make my own frappuccino at home to save some money instead of going to Starbucks twice a week.
  • Trying to find my inner chi with cooking veggie-friendly meals.

This quarter is doing a really good job in keeping me busy to the point where I haven’t been able to attend any club meetings *o*. But one thing I’m definitely trying to make room for is the IT Competition happening in a couple of months. On a side note, I might be giving a “5-minute elevator speech”/pitch (yes- 5 minutes, not 30 seconds) for an organization at school soon. I guess finding my inner chi in general is harder than I thought, but I’m always up for a challenge ☺.

I am always amazed that you pick such awesome classes that I’d have problems with, but still, I’m always so proud of you.

Oh god, I’m just hungry looking at that food.

I now have to see Kingsman, I love suits on men and the cool factor of them, plus actiony stuff is always so great!

Those are interesting classes you chose for next quarter! I hope the web development one will be helpful!

That’s great that the sushi place had a good fish:rice ratio. I don’t mind too much fish, but it bothers me when there’s too much rice! All of the food photos look tasty 🙂

Aahh, I’ve heard nothing but good things about Kingsman. I keep meaning to watch it, but I haven’t been the theaters yet. I need to do that!

I hope you’ll be able to do the IT Competition, and good luck on the speech!

Ooooh, all that food looks good! I am actually craving for Korean BBQ right now! 🙁

Those classes sound cool and tough at the same time! But very interesting! Good luck with this quarter and with the competition too 🙂

Yay for Interactive Design! I know yours is not called interactive design but there’s the ‘interactive’ part of it and it somehow makes me happy haha (i’m just proud of my course lol wth this doesn’t make sense, right) and I did learn about responsive web design too 🙂 it’s really fun and useful. (well though it was more like i learned it myself because my lecturer was, so to speak, stupid)

I wanted to take system analysis for this semester’s elective but my CS friend said it’s a boring course. she’s like, “if you abbreviate system analysis design, it’s SAD. that’s just how the subject is – a SAD subject.” lol
for some reason, i’m all giddy because our courses are cross-complimenting each other. you learn what i have learned and vice versa haha

i have a feeling that making frappuccinos are a lot easier and simpler. i mean, it won’t be a clone of starbucks’ version but at least it’s not bad. sadly, i’m the hand brewed coffee kind of person so i can’t brew my own, say, macchiato at home because i don’t have an espresso machine and stuff like that. hence all my money got burned at the starbucks across campus LOL

ah, the korean BBQ you gave me on twitter haha i think yours look so much better. the one i had was bad; the meat quality was bad and my dad said he doesn’t want to go back there anymore. that place used to be my dad’s favorite but now… yea 🙁

I heard my web design class will be really easy… Then again, I won’t have any problems with it considering how I’ve been bff’s with coding for a decade or something *o*.

Making homemade frappuccinos is easy!!! Or so it seems, depending on how you like it.
Caramel: Add coffee, milk, heavy whipping cream, ice, some kind of sweetener (I use syrup because I need to use it up before it expires), and caramel. Blend it together and boom, you got yourself a frappuccino!! Oh, and add whipping cream to the top :D. I guess it’s easier said than done, but it’s really easy, I promise!!!

Wah, I hate it when your favorite place turns into poop D:{!!!

Good luck with the webdev class! That sounds like a lot of fun. 😀

Shouldn’t a 5-minute elevator speech just be called a speech? 😛 I’m just imagining a 5-minute elevator ride right now. How tall must the building be?

Anyways, love your choice of classes. TAKE ALL THE COOL CLASSES!!! And you’re making good use of the money spent on a degree too, so make’em count. Enjoy this semest – I mean, quarter!

I just wanted to be fancy and extend the 30 second elevator speech to a 5 minute one XD. I’m practically giving one of those, and I’m hoping the elevator will be slooooooooow going to the 125th floor or something. It won’t be as extreme as the Hollywood’s Terror of Tower ;).

I’m trying to take all of the cool classes!! But these are core classes D’:. I guess I have more freedom when it comes to choosing my upper division synthesis classes!!!

I hope that everything goes well with the classes and even though it might make you pressed for time, I hope you still enjoy them. 😀

Good luck with the speech/pitch. I am sure you will be great!

Ooooh! Interactive design? That sounds interesting. I’m glad you’re able to take a web development class! I hope that works out well.

    Good luck with that speech! I’d be terrified out of my mind if I had to do something like that. Public speaking is not my forte, so I hate doing it. Oddly enough, when I speak in front of kids, I’m fine, but it’s speaking in front of adults that gives me major anxiety attacks O_o;;;

Woot for more Korean BBQ! Your photos make it look so much better than the ones I see everyday here LOL!

Anyway, hang in there! I hope you can relax a bit next quarter!!!
