Captain America

❀ Captain America: The Winter Soldier

My boyfriend and I went to watch the newly released Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the movie is awesome! The story line was quite personal to Steve Rogers, so the movie wasn’t about “let’s defeat all bad guys because they’re bad!”. Then again, most Marvel movies make it so that the storyline is personal to the main characters. Overall, I liked the movie and word of advice: watch the first Captain America movie before this because it’ll save you some possible confusion. It took me a while to remember some of the important details since I haven’t watched the first movie for over a year. Oh! And the super cool thing about the movie is that Black Widow/Scarlett Johansson was driving a Corvette Stingray. I totally recognized it from the car’s nice curves ☺. Hopefully, that wasn’t a total spoiler for you.

❀ Some Munchies

Here are a couple of highlights of some recent “munchies”:

✦ I gave the “salmon sushi bowl” a second try after last month’s post and it was much better considering how I left out the seaweed salad. It’s a lazy alternative of making salmon rolls and totally worth it XD.
✦ We went to get shaved ice cream after watching Captain America in Monterey Park and I love how the ice cream melts in your mouth.
✦ Last week, we went to this boba place in Arcadia called Honeyboba and got ourselves boba with seasoned fries. The two items tasted really good combined so expect to drop $5 per large cup if you want to give this place a visit. On the bright side, I like it a lot more than the local generic boba places like Quickly’s and Lollicup.

❀ School Stuff

I had a test for calculus the other day and I really don’t know how to feel about it. Over 90% of the class was still there at least 5 minutes after our regular class session ended. As for java programming, I have a midterm next week and I don’t think the class is ready for it considering how the instructor teaches out of sample programs and the assigned textbook mentions about programs through text-based outputs. So if anything, I will most likely cram everything there is to know about Graphical User Interface programming with java within the next week. Eh, I got this one way or another.

And lastly, Happy April! ◠ ◡ ◠

Mmmmm. The shaved ice looks so good! And boba? Is that what you call bubble tea? Just wanted to make sure 😀 I am not sure if I’d want bubble tea and seasoned fries together though . . . though fries in general are yummy!

Good luck with your midterm next week! I’m sure you will pass! ^^

And Captain America reminds me that they are filming the Avengers here . . . everyone else is all excited about it, and I’m just meh LOL.

Thanks for the heads up! I’m going to rewatch Captain America 1 before I go and see the second. I can’t wait to see it, though! Are you excited for Amazing Spider-Man 2?!

The shaved ice cream looks delicious! What is boba?

Good luck with your midterm, and I’m sure you did well in your test 🙂

    Happy April to you! 😀

I’ve watched Captain America recently too and I agree! Not watching (or remembering, as for my case) the first movie will really cause a lot of confusion. Haha. I was trying so hard to remember the details from the first CA movie and put pieces together to make sense of everything that was happening in the second movie 😛

And yum! The salmon looks super yummy, again! Hahaha. I had salmon sushi for lunch just now too. Really, really good. I think I can eat salmon sushi for the rest of my life. I wouldn’t mind!

I still think that calculus sounds like a really complex subject : ha! Good luck for you programming midterm! I do java programming too and I quite enjoy it 🙂 I learned GUI during my previous semester, but now I’ve forgotten like half of it. Oops! Better recall before the school year starts again.

    Have a great week! 😀

I just saw Captain America last night! I actually didn’t like the first one that much, and I was so glad to see that the sequel was much better. I really liked it!

Ooh, that’s good that the salmon bowl was better without the seaweed salad. Sounds like it’d make it easier to prepare too, haha. I never thought of ordering boba and fries together. Both are tasty on their own, so I can see how they’d be good together too!

    Good luck on your midterm!

I just saw the new Captain America movie too, it was indeed awesome! 🙂 I’m a sucker for good character-driven stuff when it comes to my superheroes and The Winter Soldier didn’t disappoint at all. I’m so hyped for X-Men in May now! 😀

Now craving ice cream after seeing your munchies pics and we have none in the house. Oh noes! 🙁

I’ve been wanting to watch Captain America, I heard it was really good! The first movie was disappointing, so I’m hoping this one will redeem the series 🙂
The shaved ice looks delicious! I can’t wait until the weather gets warmer so I can eat dessert like that!
