With this being my 5th week of working, I suppose I’m finally accustomed to this whole work schedule. Being on an 8-5 schedule has its perks and disadvantages but I’m in favor of it so that’s a good thing ☺.

I was extremely busy this week with the culmination of the inventory count from last Friday. With the data received from the counts, I had a team of interns input them in excel so I can make a report for the auditors to see. Except there were too many discrepancies between the count from Friday and the count from our management software system. I had to push aside any “IT work” this week so I can get the report done. Safe to say, I completed the work in process portion for the auditors. As for the overall count, hopefully I will be done with everything next week.

Aside from all of the work I’m doing, my lunch experience got a bit better. A few coworkers and I usually go out to eat somewhere to eat together these days. If someone brings homemade food, they usually heat it up and bring it to wherever we end up going. So far, we’ve been to places like The Habit, In-N-Out, {sushi}, Costco, Jamba Juice, Chipotle, Mariscos, Ava, and so on. I guess I could say it’s nice to be somewhere outside of work for lunch because you’re getting some fresh air.

Tidbits of the Week

  • I fangirled when I saw a Shelby GT500 (BEAST Mustang) pass by while being in a carpool for lunch.
  • I got my hands on a staff parking permit for school- but I’m borrowing it for “trophy” purposes.
  • I proposed a legit idea of a cool domain name “hack” with the new TLD’s to our marketing manager. He loved the idea and registered the domain name. Hint: {name}.industries.
  • I racked up a handful of overtime hours this week.
  • I was “designated driver” on Wednesday during lunch.
  • I was somehow appointed to train/mentor a new intern.
  • I started brainstorming some ideas to redesign our online parts store.

Even though I brought homemade rice for lunch, I couldn’t resist ordering a few salmon nigiri. Sushi = happiness.

Today, we went out to eat Persian/Mediterranean food. I ordered the beef koobideh lunch special. In a nutshell, this koobideh is grounded beef shaped as a kabob cooked on a grill. It was tasty ☺.

TODAY IS THE DAY! Sprinkles was supposed to open on Wednesday but it got pushed to today. Initially, I wanted to go to Sprinkles as soon as it opened but I didn’t anticipate being hired so I had to find an alternative plan. I ended up going to work and missed the initial opening but I got to leave work an hour early to go to Sprinkles! The main line was extremely long so I got lazy and tried out the cupcake ATM (on the side) for the first time. The actual cupcake shop was on the front so not everything here is automated.

On the main screen, there are available cupcake flavors listed. Someone in front of me ordered the rest of the red velvet so I went for chocolate marshmallow instead. Yes, I know the cupcakes are $4.25 each. It’s worth it.

And after everything is finished, out comes the cupcakes! The screen shows a video of the machine grabbing and dispensing the cupcake as you wait. It’s pretty cool because you see what’s going on behind the scenes.

Time to enjoy the cupcakes! I will be back for a red velvet someday…

    8-5 work hour does have its perk, but one thing I hate about a “normal” working hour is that so many other important places are open during work hours the bank and post office. That’s why sometimes I find the 5:30am to 2:30pm work hours more convenient than the 8-5 one XD;;;

Huzzah for more nommy foods. I’ve never heard of koobideh before, but that’s not surprising since I’ve yet to try Persian food! I’ll have to look into their cuisine more to familiarise myself with their dishes.

    And holy cow. That cupcake ATM thing is NEAT. The concept is actually very cool and futuristic. That’s something very Jetson-like! And yes, those are some pricey cupcakes, but as long as they taste good, then woot! I’ve got cupcakes for around that price and it tasted like crap X_X;;;

Sounds like a busy week! I’m glad you had interns to help you out at least 🙂 I hope you’ll be finished with all of that soon. Good luck!

I’ve been trying not to eat out as much to be healthier, but I still do it at least once or twice a week. Leaving work for lunch is a nice break away from it all!

I like some of those new TLDs. I actually got one for myself, but I haven’t opened a site on it yet, haha.

Ooh, the beef koobideh looks really good. The cupcake ATM also looks really cool! Seems convenient when the store is closed or too busy 🙂

Work sounds like it’s going pretty well for you. I only work 4hrs in the morning so I don’t have to deal with lunches. I’m glad you are able to get out.

Sprinkles! My fav is the banana. We just have a store and not a cupcake machine. I would love to use it!

I’m glad work is going so well for you and that you are getting to eat at some nice places. Do other restaurants mind people bringing in their own food to eat? Or are you eating outside?

The idea of a cupcake ATM is amazing. I can totally relate about spending that much on cupcakes. They make for a lovely treat. 🙂

We normally eat at fast food places so it’s more lenient than restaurants. But since 7/8 of us usually eats at the place, it’s not a big deal as long as we/I don’t make a mess. ☺

Yeah, I kind of wish my husband had those hours, but it wouldn’t be practical for me or us, since I have doctor appointments to go to. But holy awesomeness, that cupcake machine is pretty impressive.

Sprinkles, you say? I wish I had something like that over here, I think I’d be eating cupcakes all the time.

Yum yum. I actually tried Mediterranean food once, and I’ve loved it ever since. <3

Glad you're doing so well with work and everything!

Dude, I am amazed that people actually lined up for the cupcakes at all, when they have an ATM. I mean, the wait can’t be much longer at the ATM, can it? It might even be faster! I think that’s really, really cool though. I don’t think we have Sprinkles in Australia.

Also red velvet is my favourite cupcake flavour. I don’t really like cakes but that is my favourite flavour.

You’re lucky you get overtime! I work full time but get no overtime. I guess in my situation, my salary is enough to compensate for any overtime and all the perks, etc. (We get free food and other things.)

I love looking up domain hacks. I tried to look for some for the .red TLD because red is my favourite colour. I thought of ones like inspi.red and explo.red and when I thought of them, they weren’t taken, but they are now. I didn’t like them all that much anyway. 😛 I also want georg.ie, and have for ages, but the .ie (Ireland) TLD is very controlled and you need to be an Irish citizen or have a business there, and the domain name can only be your name or business name, eg. johndoe.ie.

I’d love to have 8-5 hours again! I like having a steady, predictable schedule so I can make plans in advance. I’m actually looking for a better job right now so I hope I can have that again. 😀

Wow, doesn’t eating out a lot add up? I try to bring my own lunch to save on costs but I get so lazy, I end up buying food half the time anyway.

Wow Sprinkles Cupcakes ATM…I feel like these are totally promoting obesity & diabetes, but at the same time, you could probably get a whole happy meal for $4.25 so someone on a budget … would probably go get a happy meal before sprinkles…hmmmm…so it’s not promoting obesity & diabetes after all, just …uhhhh delicious gluttonous indulgence in a machine. It’s an interesting novelty!

Getting into that work schedule is good! It might be hard at first because you’re so confined & constricted to a schedule, but when you get the hang of it & you enjoy work, it’s pretty rewarding!

Aw man, I really wanted to see how it looked like from the inside [even though I know what cupcakes look like]. It’d be interesting to see how the entire creation process took place from behind the scenes. I wish there’s something similar here in Texas. If there is, I have yet to find one.

Talk about some accomplishments this week! I may have missed this somewhere, but what is this online parts store?

wow, we’re both busy people, aren’t we… i’m too busy gaming and procrastinating, ha hahaha *cries*
no but seriously, you’re such a productive person. busy for productiveness is good. *cries again for myself because i’m anything but that*

i wonder how it feel to go out for lunch with co-workers hm…does it feel like high school? haha somehow i’m imagining it’s like high school 😛

you can never skipped on sushi when going to sushi restaurant 😉 especially not when salmon is staring back at you and somehow shine its aura like, “come on,i know you wanna eat meee” so there, temptation.
is it me or does the koobideh only like… a slice? 😮
it does look so juicy and tempting though >__< what's that in front of it? the oval shaped one–?? like an egg?

omgggg what is that sorcery– cupcake ATM!! so adorable *o* and wow it's pink too, making it even more adorable. that's a really nice concept! I've never seen anything like that before whoahhh *o* now i wish there's Sprinkles here just because i want to try the ATM (despite not being a fan of cupcake)
