Date Nights
May 31, 2015

Wow, there are less than 2 weeks left in the quarter (including finals week) before summer break starts! I can’t believe how fast time flew by and I am almost done with my first year at Cal Poly! Summer break won’t be too much of a break for me considering how I will be working full time, but hopefully my workload will be much lighter this year since I’m already established at work.

martial arts!
A few weeks ago, I started attending the Martial Arts Club to learn some basic self-defense moves. I went to 2 sessions so far and I learned a lot! During the first session, I learned knife defense where joint manipulation was involved. On the second session, I learned some roundhouse kicks and got pushed into the sparring session at the end. I went through two single’s sparring matches and one where I had to spar against 2 other guys at the same time. My body ended up being really sore from both sessions but it’s worth it… Until I wake up in the morning 😹.

ootoro sushi date night
Last Friday, my boyfriend and I went on a date at a high-end sushi restaurant. Comparing this to the other sushi restaurants (or all restaurants) we’ve been to, this is the best one by far but it comes with a high price tag. The quality, service, and food were top-notch.

baseball & oyster bar
My boyfriend is leaving to work at Boeing over the summer out of state and he wanted to watch a Dodgers baseball game before he leaves. I’m not too much of a baseball fan but it was a good game. After the game, we went to EMC Seafood & Raw Bar since we were in the area.

chrysanthemum ball v.2
On Friday, my boyfriend took me to his fraternity’s chrysanthemum ball (again). It was at the same place as last year where they served Indian food. My boyfriend bought two raffle tickets and ended up winning a bucket filled with Marvel goodies (Deadpool poster, some comic books, and two vinyl figures from Guardians of the Galaxy. Here’s last year’s post about the ball.

I love that picture at the end, and that ball sounds fantastic and the fact that he won, is great! You guys look so cute together =) I’m glad you both had fun.

Plus, I’m not a big fan of baseball either, but I’d probably go too, if someone had tickets, because why not? Glad you had fun!

I hope you don’t miss your boy too much over your summer…! I hear the US is crazy about sports (my boyfriend tells me this as he has been to the US), I am not into sports at all but I would sure like to watch a game at least once in my life. xD

The sushi looks good! I find some sushi places to be a lot more expensive than others and they often have a better appearance but most of the time I find that the taste doesn’t change too much across the board.

I have never done martial arts but a few times I was tempted to at least try. My brother has a black belt in taekwondo and it was cool seeing some girls kick some ass :p

Good for you on taking some martial arts classes! I can only imagine how sore you were the next morning! Meep! But hey, it’s really good to learn some self-defence. You never know when that’ll come in handy 😀

The sushi looks yummy! I’m glad you’re getting to spend some time with your boyfriend before he leaves for a while. The ballgame looks awesome and so did the ball! 😀 Glad you two had a blast! You two also look adorable! <3

Learning self-defense is really handy! I used to do martial arts when I was in high school and haven’t been since. I feel like it’s good exercise and super useful 🙂

Ooh, all of the sushi looks good. My favorite places for sushi are also expensive, but I feel like it’s worth it for such good food! I’m also not a baseball fan, though watching sports live is pretty exciting.

You guys look great dressed up!

Aw, I remember my first summer with a full-time job thinking I wouldn’t have much time to have fun – but turned out to be the best summer! I hope yours is going to be just as great 🙂

I used to do karate when I was younger, but stopped. It’s definitely a great way to learn self-defence. I feel like picking up some classes again, now!

Mmmhmmm, that sushi looks so nice. That’s so cool that he won the Marvel goodie bag! Love the picture of you guys 😛

the martial arts club sounds great. I used to do kickboxing, but was really rubbish at it. The actual competition sort of fights terrified me.

The picture from the ball is so cute. And so jealous of the Marvel goodies – sounds like the best prize ever!

You’re going to find that as the older you get, the faster time goes. I know you probably hear that all the time, but it’s true. Good luck with finishing your classes!

you and your boyfriend are the sweetest! How are you guys winning raffles? I seem to join plenty but never win any T_T

I used to do muay thai and boxing but stopped because of school (nah, actually, I just got lazy). It’s great that you’re learning self defense, you never know when that will come handy.
