Week 0 ft. Disneyland
September 28, 2015

The first day of school was pretty good. I’m really happy with my class schedule this quarter because I have a set of morning classes and night classes with a nice gap in between. It was a good day for me because I was waitlisted in 3/5 of my classes at first and got into all of them! At the end, I had to choose a class to drop and decided to drop marketing because it’s easier to enroll into that class than my security classes. My course list looks pretty interesting and hopefully I’ll have fun in all of my classes!

  • Asset Allocation in Technical Decision Making
I decided to take an engineering class to fulfill one of the synthesis requirements. From the homework so far, it seems like this class is a hybrid between engineering and business. This looks like an interesting class and it’s a plus that my boyfriend is in it. Once I get the hang of how the formulas are used, I should be fine. From the homework so far, it seems like we’re supposed to find ways to maximize the use of available cash funds. Fun stuff~
  • Computers and Society
I was expecting a bit more out of this class, but it’s a pretty basic class that shows how people are using technology. The best part of this class is probably the assignment where we have to code something based out of python. This is why I should’ve put a bigger effort in learning python a couple of years ago.
  • Network Security
Bless my professor for giving me an add code after being on the waitlist! I’m finally hitting one of four core classes for my major and it sounds like this will be a fun class! This class is supposed to be a more in-depth look at how network should be configured in order to prevent attacks from happening and how to deal with it if worse comes to worse (mitigation).
  • Internet Security
Bless my professor once again for giving me an add code with me being #9 on the waitlist. Meanwhile, I had to go through loops to get into another class last quarter at #2. This is the second class out of the four core classes and I’m pretty excited for this class. Especially since we’re going to have some hands-on labs with Kali Linux ~bossing~. The professor for this class and Network Security is the same guy so I’m basically sitting through four straight hours of his lectures. Thankfully these two topics are interesting to me!
The Happiest Place on Earth

My boyfriend and I went to Disneyland/Disney California Adventure a few days ago! We had park hopper tickets for the day and pretty much went on most of the big rides along with some smaller rides. We didn’t go on Radiator Springs Racers because the line was too long and Pirates because it was closed. Otherwise, we had a lot of fun walking around and going on rides! Especially when I convinced my boyfriend to go on the Silly Symphony Swings because he doesn’t trust the seats being held by the cable lines.

As for the eateries, we ate at Garden Grill and Cove Bar (those lobster nachos). I asked the bartender for a recommendation that is something sweet and fizzy. Both drinks were somewhat sweet but strong at the same time. #GettingMyDrinkOnAtDCA. Thankfully, I didn’t go on any rides after and I was fine.

At the end, it was a fun day and fun way to kick off the school year. There are times when I heavily considered buying an annual pass but going about once a year makes my soul and bank account happy enough.

love the name of your subjects! oh I wish I can go back studying… but with the currency getting higher and higher, it seems impossible for now XD being in the waiting list is the worst part of being a uni student, because it makes you feel like you are totally a big loser or not graduating if you can’t enroll on that subject XD Disney Land! one of the place in my to-go list ^^

Still dreaming of going to Disneyland even if I’m a little old already hahaha 😀

Love your photos at Disneyland! I hope you and your boyfriend had a wonderful time!
I am also glad you enjoyed your first day/week of school. Goodluck on your studies! Best wishes :>

Sheesh, your classes sound difficult just from their titles, lol. Then again, I’m sure mine wouldn’t sound that good to most people either, haha. But as long as you enjoy them!

I love reading yours posts about Disneyland because I would love to go someday! California, I’ll make it to you one of these days! I’m glad you had such a great time with your boyfriend, and hope you have a great start to all of your classes!

Oohh, your classes sound interesting, especially the security ones. I hope the Computers and Society one will be better later. When I was in college, I took one about the ethics in technology, which is kind of similar.

Your trip to Disneyland looks really fun! That’s a great trip to start the school year with 🙂 I’m also glad school is going well so far!

Ahhh, this has made me excited because I'm going to Disneyland Paris in November with my sister. Eeeeep! The food looks delicious 🙂

I worked at Disneyland for over three years, so sadly the magic is lost for me. 🙁 I still love going to buy a churro or maybe ice cream, though 😛

I still have yet to go to any Disney related theme parks. I want to. I think the closet one is in Florida for me, I suppose.

Glad you and your bf had fun! ^^ Disneyland looks awesome. It would be funny if they had Sora pop around and just had more Kingdom Hearts related things since KH3 is coming out soon. I wish they could do something like that. That would be so neat.

    Awesome photos, Nancy!

Yowza! So glad to hear you got into the classes you were waitlisted for! Those sounds like interesting classes, but I think I’d like the Computer and Society class the most! Good luck on them and learn a lot! ^^

Disneyland! I’ve yet to go to a Disneyland/World, and I hope to do so soon! Maybe the Tokyo one since it’s the closest to me . . .

Looks like you guys had a wonderful time! Loved seeing your photos with your boyfriend! You two look so cute and happy ^^

AND HOMG. That lobster nachos!!!! I’m drooling here, girl! That looks mad good!

That’s good you got into the classes you were waitlisted for!

It’s great that you have a class with your boyfriend as well. 🙂 Even though you have to do work at least you can do it together and enjoy each other’s company. It’s a shame that Computers and Society subject is a bit dull though. :c

I’m sure the annual passes for Disneyland are really expensive! I’m not really into theme parks, I would visit Disneyland but I probably wouldn’t even go as often as a year… even if I did live in the US haha.
