Dissecting Questions
June 30, 2016

For a while, I’ve been wanting to do a Q&A post and it’s finally happening! I’d like to thank those who put in the time to ask some questions. I think it’s a fun exercise to see what people are interested in knowing about you and your thoughts!

💕 After you graduate, what is your next big goal?
My next big goal (that I can think of) is to buy a new car by December of this year. I’m waiting for my job to stabilize before committing myself to a big ticket item.

💕 How come you’re so awesome?
Hard work and dedication~ (Honestly, you should be answering this question for deeming me as awesome!)

💕 What is one place you recommend someone to see in LA area?

Disneyland / Disney California Adventures (pictured).
To be honest, there are a lot of worthwhile places to visit in LA from MOCA to the Huntington Library. However, I would personally pick Disney if it’s the one place to visit in the LA area!

💕 If you had to describe yourself as a book, movie, or TV show, what would you choose and why?
If I can be as cool as Felicity Smoak from Arrow, that’d be great! I’m pretty much into the same field as her, but in a defensive security perspective. Oh, I love nice clothes and accessories too ;).

💕 Will you always blog or do you feel like you’ll stop at a certain point in life?
I will probably stop after a certain point but for now, I’m sticking to blogging. I can see myself blogging for the next 10-15 years. My interest in blogging will stick as long as I keep finding innovations to improve myself and my blog.

💕 What’s one thing you miss from high school?
I don’t miss much from high school. Though if I had to pick one thing, I do miss the fun moments in band when we had performances.

💕 You like working with computers. What made you fall in love with this subject?
My exposure to computers since childhood made me fall in love with the subject. I would always watch my dad build computers back then even though I didn’t know what was going on. As for choosing what to study in the computer field, I was thinking about doing system administration at first until I found an interest in information security.

💕 How did you and your boyfriend meet? 🙂
We met when I was a sophomore in high school (while he was a senior). We went to different schools, but was recruited into a joint holiday band. He made a comment about how I didn’t like my high school rival’s band, which is true… Except I didn’t like him calling me out on that. At the end, we got along pretty but never had any clicking romance at the time.

💕 If you were not working in IT, what do you think you would be doing?
If I wasn’t lazy and settled with working in IT, I would actually try to find an internship pertaining to information security. They’re not really the same subject; one is about setting up the equipment and the other is about securing systems. However, I’m still thankful for the opportunity to work in IT because I have a pretty good foundation before taking it up a notch!

💕 What is one fond memory you have with your boyfriend?

I’m not the type who’s too fond of nature, but experiencing it with my boyfriend made me gain an appreciation for it. This was from our road trip to Yosemite / San Francisco last year during spring break. I would definitely go again!

💕 Are you excited to meet Chynna? JK… What would be top tips for surviving college? You always seem super busy, but on top of it all! Let us know 🙂
Yes! I was excited to meet her and even more to cross off my bucket list: drinks with Chynna~
On top of the college tips from my commencement post, here are my some more tips:
– Stay organized by planning, keeping track of your commitments, and following through.
– Don’t over-commit yourself; know your limits.
– Reward yourself after succeeding your goals.

💕 Where do you see yourself in a few years?
It’s hard to say what I specifically expect out of myself. In a general sense, I would be progressing myself in my career, personal growth, and hobbies. I’ll admit that my taste and interest will change and I don’t know what direction it’ll head off to by then.

💕 If money is not an issue, what car would you buy?
I’ll buy a bunch of awesome cars! ??????~ If I had to pick one, I would pick the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG in white.

💕 Where do you buy your dresses from?

These days, I would primarily buy from Abercrombie & Fitch and Banana Republic (recently). I used to buy from Hollister (casual) and Windsor Store (banquets). I’ll expand my scope as I work and save up more.

How can I be as pretty as you? 🙁

      That’s easy… First, you

Ahhh! I loved this post! It was great seeing more about you and your insights.

Disneyland is definitely on my list to visit when I go to LA! I think it’s great you’re waiting for your job to stabilise before committing to a car. That’s a wise step and it’s clear you think things through rather than jumping right into them.

Also, you’re right about knowing your limit. Sometimes I forget that advice and take on more than I can handle, but I like to think I’m better about it than now. It’s also good that you’re committed and know how to balance yourself with work and rewards!

Thanks for doing this post, Nancy. I enjoyed reading your answers ^^

As much as I would love to jump into a new car, I don’t think it’d be wise if I don’t have a completely solid foundation in case of a rainy day! It’s better to have a few quality outcomes than many quantity/low quality outcomes 🙂

“Don’t over-commit yourself; know your limits.” YES! That was my biggest challenge when I first started college. I wanted to do everything! I figured I did it in high school, so it can’t be too bad….hahaha…

These questions are so great. 😀 I hope that you are able to get a car soon and before December. 😀

i LOVE DISNEYLAND! The California Adventure park is sooo awesome, I loved all the rides there 🙂 Oh and I love the random street parties!

This is such a nice post and I loved reading your answers 🙂 It’s so cute how you and your boyfriend met! <3

    Nice questions and answers!

Gah! I’d love to visit Disneyland someday!
    That picture is gorgeous.
And I’m not an outdoorsy person, but with a view like that, who wouldn’t swoon. :3

I love this Q&A post – I’m hoping to do one in a vlog format in the future, I think it’d be super fun! 🙂 Hahaha, I remember asking that boyfriend question – I always love hearing about how very strong couples initially met! That’s so cute that you and your boyfriend were first really good friends, I think that’s definitely how they last 😉

I love dresses from Hollister! We don’t have Abercrombie and Fitch here (I don’t think) but I had a snoop on their website once – very Nancy I must say 😛

I HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION, HOW DO YOU HAVE SUCH BEAUTIFUL LONG LUSCIOUS LOCKS SERIOUSLY #hairgoals

    • Nancy ☆ July 5, 2016 at 2:53 pm

Yesss! You must do one some day!~~~ My boyfriend and I went from public enemy #1 to being together X’D.

I probably break all of the rules when it comes to hair maintenance. I wash my hair every day even though I’m not supposed to ;~;.

I liked reading the questions and answers! It’s always fun to learn more about someone 🙂 I’ve been wondering how long I’ll blog, as at some point, I’ll probably feel like stopping too. I still enjoy it though! I’m also like you about high school. I really don’t miss it, but I do miss playing in an orchestra.

I think that’s great that you had exposure to computers when you were young! Yay for more women in tech fields! Great tips for staying on top of things too. Knowing your limits is so important 🙂

    • Nancy ☆ July 7, 2016 at 11:36 am

Probably at 50, I will be like, “Why am I blogging again…?” XD. For now, I’ll enjoy my time blogging. I think as time passes, more girls will join the tech field. 🙂

Aaaa I loved reading your answers Nancy 🙂 I did a few of these WAYYYY back in the day but I think I am due for another one!

I think Disneyland is on my list, the Paris one was so disappointing and people who have been to both always say the Paris one is just so so bad. I look forward to having a better experience at the one in California some time. 😀

I feel like one day when I get a lot older I will stop blogging too. I also see myself blogging for the next 15 or so years… I just like it a lot right now.

Your dresses are so nice! I wish we had a Banana Republic or A&F here but… nope. I go to Cue, an Australian retailer, for some of my dresses. Some are quite an investment so I usually buy them on sale 😛 😛
