February Delights
February 3, 2015

It’s February already?! So much have been going on at school due to projects and midterms. I finished one midterm and have three more to go within the next couple of weeks. Aside from school, there’s always work and limited leisure time. We’re in week 5 and I’m hanging on in there!

Here are some of my recent “long story short” adventures:

  • Visited a high school friend during her RA hours at another university nearby right before the quarter started.
  • Went to Yard House a few weeks ago for some ribs.
  • Finally went to 85C and it’s dessert goodies heaven!! (Basically a Taiwanese version of Porto’s Bakery conveniently close to the village)
  • Helped a friend with some house-remodeling shopping last week.
  • Went to Milk & Honey for a Sunday late-night dessert with my boyfriend and his siblings.
  • A couple of friends and I had dinner from Buffalo Wild Wings on Thursday.
  • Recently got addicted to watching The Affair.
  • … And got caught up with Gotham, Flash, and Arrow.
  • Went on numerous pizza runs due to random pizza craving.
  • Got forced into registering for the Graduation Writing Test… Is graduation really around the corner already??!
  • Watched the Super Bowl with my boyfriend for the first time (watching with boyfriend part; I watched numerous Super Bowl’s already) and had a bunch of food around.

A couple of Friday’s ago, my boyfriend and I had our FriDate™ at Downtown Disney for our 30th month (yaaay, we’re in the 30’s now). We decided to eat at Rainforest Cafe, which one of the special effects in the restaurant is produced by my work! It’s pretty cool to see some of our products running up close in person. I ordered steak and shrimp along with a juice mix (where I got to take the souvenir glass home).

Give me another week or so to return comments after I get all of my projects and midterms sorted out.

One midterm down and three more to go? Ouch! That’s way too many midterms in my opinions! Good luck with it all~!

You’ve definitely been busy, my friend! Sounds like you’ve also been on a lot of good food run! I’ve been craving for pizza lately, too! What kind of pizzas do you usually get? 🙂

And those Disney treats look amazing! So does the bear ice cream! I love cute desserts like that. They are too cute to eat!

Hang in there, Nancy! Good luck with everything!

One thing I’m glad about is that my midterms are spread out versus being all in one day. I usually get whichever pizza that has the meat… On thin crust. But I don’t like my pizza too hard. Thank you for the wishes ☺♥

I was an awful student and normally made more time for leisure than study. DX let me tell you, my stress levels were always high.

When did 85C open up by campus? The only ones I know of are by my house and by my boyfriend’s, and neither are close to the school. Personally I don’t see what the fuss is about; their pastries are alright, but I honestly don’t get why they’re so popular.

Speaking of desserts, you should check out Honeymee in the Yes Plaza! It’s so good, I’ve been there twice and I love how simple it is there. Definitely makes the quality of taste so much more evident.

My stress level is on the fritz right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Same with my attention span, huhuhuhu. 85C is in Chino Hills on Peyton (in the Costco Plaza). I mean, it’s like a 10 minute drive but it’s still a lot closer than Porto’s Bakery to me :D. I think they’re popular because their pastries are cute. I’m not much of a baked goods person but it’s enough to draw my attention. I’ll definitely check out Honeymee the next time I’m in Rowland ;). Thanks ☺♥

That sounds really far to me! But I consider a lot of places far 😛

When the one in Hacienda Heights opened the line went out the door and they needed someone to act like security would at a club entrance. It was insane. I much prefer JJ Bakery 😛

Sounds like you’ve been busy! I’ve got a pizza craving now you’ve said that. I had no idea what Downtown Disney was, I had to google it but it looks amazing! I love the little cake-pops! Good luck with the rest of your midterms, I’m sure you’ll do great!

Wait, what? Graduation writing test? What does that entail exactly? I remember having to do a writing assessment during undergrad and grad school just so that they could see whether or not I needed to take supplementary writing classes [thank goodness I passed], but not right before graduation. :/

February is the month when people start piling up work-wise in time for midterms. Things won’t get that easy from this point on, we actually have to put more effort now! Hang in there. Happy studying, and keep up the good work. xD

It’s to see if people are English-proficient enough to graduate. Everyone has to take it after 100 units even if graduation is looong away. There are sooOOoooO many assessments! First with the SAT/ACT, then assessment to see if you need supplement classes, and now graduation writing test *o*!!!

Man, things really do change over time. I’ve also noticed this when I started my first semester and my Sociology class wanted APA style. Things change. Good luck and congratulations.

Glad you managed to get a lot done! Graduation, already? I’m surprised, but that’s how fast time goes!

Anyhow congrats on your anniversary! Mine is coming up in March of this year. My husband and I will be together for about 6 years and married 2 years. Woot!

  6. Cat ☆ February 5, 2015 at 11:19 pm

Good luck on all of your projects and midterms! I’m glad you still have time to do other things with all of that going on! I get a lot of random pizza cravings too, haha.

Happy 30th month anniversary! That’s cool that you were able to see something your work produced in person 🙂 The Disney treats and Bear ice cream are soooo cute too.

Hang in there! I hope things are less hectic later!

I’m loving the headings you put on your posts, now!

Sounds like you had a fun couple of weeks. They actually showed the Super Bowl over here in the UK, but I never watched it. I do know that the Patriots won, and the Seahawks fans started a fight, I think. Crazy!

Wow – it’s been 30 months! That is a looong time. Wish I could spend my anniversaries in Downtown Disney. Looks like so much fun!

  8. Holly ☆ February 10, 2015 at 1:28 pm

I can’t believe it’s February either. January went way too quickly.

Congrats on your 30th month anniversary. The Disney restaurant sounds awesome and the Disney themed treats look so good!

  9. Jhanz ☆ February 11, 2015 at 10:44 am

The treats looked wonderful! I want the Olaf one!

  10. Becca ☆ February 12, 2015 at 7:23 am

You sound so busy with school! That’s a lot of midterms – I only have one which is a huge relief, but I have a ton of group projects so I guess that makes up for it. :/ Good luck with all your homework and studying!

Oh my goodness, I love all the Disney Treats. Olaf is so cute and is that Mike I see in the back? Almost too cute to eat 🙂

Yeah, time flies unbelievably fast! It’s mid-February. What was I doing the last two weeks? @_@

Oh gosh, I want those steak and shrimp! Your food pictures always make me hungry. XD

It’s prettttty neat that your work produced something that Rainforest Cafe uses. I can’t ever really remember eating there (mom says we ate there when I was a kid), but I’ve always wanted to as a kid (okay realistically, I STILL want to go) because … I mean,….look how cool it looks. Just look at it. Look at it. You look at it. Friggin rain & thunder….& lightning. SO COOL. Okay yeah I need to go to a Rainforest Cafe because I live for that prop jungle-ish.

Happy 2.5 years to you & your boyfriend. That’s quite a long time. I don’t think I’ve counted months beyond a year because after that, meh it all blends together. It’s also strange to me when moms describe their children as being 24 months old instead of saying 2 years. Holy cow, your child is 2 years old, use the largest measurement you weirdo.

The bear ice cream is so adorable! I wouldn’t be able to eat it…tooo cute!
