Finals Week: Part I
June 7, 2013

This was probably the busiest week of the year. This week’s up’s and down’s were taken to a whole new level. I suppose this is what finals week do to people.

On Monday, I received my exam scores back from Statistics. Surprisingly, I got a 70.20%; which is higher than the average of the class but it wasn’t high enough to drop the lowest exam grade that I have. I’m bummed out but it’s a fair game…. I hope.

Finals week started on Wednesday. Wednesday was pretty much a stressful day. I had 3 finals to take care of which 2 of them are the hardest classes of the semester: Statistics and Philosophy. I spent most of my time studying for Philosophy because I can’t grasp the concept of the subject in the heavily biased perspective that my instructor has. I had my Economics final during the night. I really don’t know how that went because I didn’t have much time to study for it. In the last 20 minutes of each exam, I panicked from the stress and anxiety. After my Philosophy final, I had a light meal with a few classmates and hopped on into studying for my Economics final. After that, my boyfriend came to visit :).

I took my fourth final on Thursday. It was for Speech so it wasn’t as stressful as the other finals. With that said, 4 finals down and 2 more to go: Anthropology and Music then I’m free!!!!…. Well… I’m taking a class during the summer so I don’t know if I will be free or not. Business Law should hopefully be easy because I definitely need a stress-free vacation of some sort and that GPA boost.

I spent the day with my boyfriend today, as we usually do on Friday’s. One of my friends wanted us to buy them cookies and chocolate milk then drop it off at my high school. We did that and my high school band director came out and invited us to hang out in the band room. We stuck around for around 10 minutes or so before heading out for some brunch consisting of ceviche and seafood tacos. Afterwards, we went to his house to play in a jumper then drove to Pasadena. We went for an adventure at Whole Foods and ended up buying hummus for a mini picnic at a park nearby then went to a nearby outdoor mall. It was a good day overall; a nice day to forget about all of the stress from this hectic week.

Next week.. 2 more finals to go!!! And I’m turning 19 on the 14th of June!!!! Wow, I’m going to be 19 years old already?!

I can definitely say I do not miss the stressors of finals week, but I do always feel bad for my kids when they tell me about all the work they have to do. Anthropology sounds tough but music shouldn’t be too bad, right? I took a music course a while back and it was really interesting!

Glad to hear that your finals week is almost over, and you can remain stress free for a while! I’ll be starting my junior college in the fall and I’m really excited about going back. Especially to a college that looks and feels like Mt.Sac (the Asian community one?).

But yeah, I’m glad your Statistics finals went good. I’m gonna have to start slow in my Freshman year and work my way through college to get where I want to be at. I do believe that it is a good idea to not start college gungho and try it full force with Algebra or what have you. But better to start off with a fresh mind and work on it. Ya know what i mean? But good luck on your two more finals that you have left!

    What is hummus?

I remember finals time always being so stressful. I’m glad you were able to relax on Friday at least 🙂 Seafood tacos + mini picnic sounds like a good time!

Aahh, you are so young! That means I’m almost 10 years older than you. Way to make me feel old, haha 😉

I hope you did well on your finals, and good luck on your remaining ones!

Man, I wonder how I am going to be when I go to school again and am faced with finals. Though I think I’ll do just fine if I study hard and do all my work.

You’re only 18? To be honest, it seems like you are so much older and wiser. I don’t know how I came to that conclusion. Lol But I am glad to hear that Finals week is nearly over for you. I bet you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

    I know I would.

Good luck on your remaining finals!

It’s so weird that we’ve known each other online this long but have yet to finally meet in person. I’ll actually cherish the day that you and I do meet in person.

Hmm, you do have a point there. Operating on a domain does take its toll on you when you’ve been doing it for so long. I started off on a sub-domain and eventually graduated to owning a domain. But like you’ve stated since I’ve been on a domain for so long its hard to operate on a sub-domain. You don’t necessarily have that ‘feel’ towards it like you do a domain.

I never knew what hummus was until now! Thank you for telling me.

Hey Nancy, it’s been a while.

Yuck, finals week. I about pulled my hair out this past semester with all of the php coding I had to do. I can’t even imagine having to study for 6 classes… 6 relatively difficult classes. So glad you made it through the week, and I hope this week is going good for you, too.

Aww, that sounds like an adorable day. It’s so cool that you can think of all these little fun things to do to have a nice, relaxing day. I wish I had that ability. I mostly spend every day at home in my room on my computer trying to think of things to do.

Happy birthday!! Isn’t it crazy? I think at this point, you start feeling like “how am i this old?” at every birthday. I’m going to be 22 in October, and I’m still not entirely sure that I’ve accepted the fact that I’m 21. Good luck with the natural process that is aging. And your finals. And have a lovely week.(:

My finals week was sooo stressful and I only had two exams! You have so many more! I had papers too but I think exams are more stressful.

One class sounds okay to handle, though I would hate to be studying in the summer. I might do it later on though. But that’s worrying too early!

I’m glad you had fun with your boyfriend after finals! That sounds so lovely.

And you’re 19 tomorrow?! When did you become so old! Lol jk you’re not old, but when I met you I think you were 16!!! Happy birthday though!
