Good News Awaits
February 6, 2014

With today being Thursday, I’m finally finished with this 5-week managerial accounting course! This past week has been a bit stressful because we have a manufacturing project where we have to come up with several types of budget sheets and the likes. It kind of makes sense since it’s normally a 16-week class. My group had our presentations yesterday and it turned out to be pretty good! We met most (if not, all) of the requirements the instructor provided and we left her with no questions to ask. Today, we had a final; which turned out alright except I skipped around 6 questions and when I went back to it, I ended up guessing on them since I really didn’t know what to do. Hopefully there will be a curve… A high curve on the final ☺.

After my final, I went to Porto’s Bakery for some delicious pastries to celebrate the occasion. I had to fit into a tightish parking spot and wait in line for around 20 minutes for these baked goodies but it’s totally worth it! I ended up getting a New York Cheesecake, Fruit Tart, Caramel Cream Horn, and a Potato Ball (which I ate before taking the picture). Delicious? Yes! ☺

On a related note about food, I tried to improve the presentation of the smoked salmon on toast (see previous post) and used a baguette instead. It was still really delicious. I prefer eating it with a baguette instead because of the texture, but that’s just me.

To wrap up this post, I have bigger news to share:
On Tuesday late afternoon after I got home, I checked my student portal and found out that I got accepted to one of the schools I applied to! I mean it’s a provisional acceptance but it’s standard so I have to send in my transcripts and all of that stuff. It’s still really good news because this is my top choice of school considering how I personally know the department chair of the CIS division, their cyber defense team is beast (1st placers), and it looks like there are more job opportunities here than the other schools around. Considering how I finished off all of my coursework at my current school within 2 years, I think I’m on the right path. My original plans took a little detour but it didn’t turn out to be as bad as I thought.

Those pastries look so delicious. Making me hungry all over again! And I think a baguette sounds different from a bagel, but it sounds just as tasty! 😀
