Happy February
February 2, 2013

As of Thursday afternoon, I am finally done with the computer class for the Winter session. The final was a bit on the easy side considering how I ended up with one wrong answer. I studied for a couple of hours the night before class so I was prepared to an extent. Either way, I passed the class with an A. My percentage for the class should be over 100% because of the extra credit assignment I mentioned about a couple of blog posts ago.

Earlier this month, I mentioned about participating in the cyber challenge which consisted of cryptography and cryptanalysis. There are no rewards for placing on top so people do it just to show off how much they know about information security. I’m majoring in a male-dominated field and I did a pretty good job considering I had no proper education about the subject. I ended up scoring 82/100 points with placing 46th out of the 495 participants.

Yesterday, I spent the day with my boyfriend and it was a lovely day. We went to The Grove and ate at Du-par’s for the morning. At first, I wanted crab cakes but it wasn’t served at 10 am. Then I wanted a steak pot pie but that wasn’t served either until a later time. I finally settled for a bacon and swiss burger. It was delicious except I didn’t finish the fries. A little while later, we got cupcakes from Sprinkles for the both of us {which was posted on Instagram}. I normally dislike cupcakes, but this is one of the rare exceptions where I actually enjoyed eating the cupcake.

And to close this blog post, Happy February!

Sprinkles is one of the better cupcake places, I’ve found. Where I am, there are about a million and one cupcakeries to choose from and Sprinkles is up there on the list of ones that actually have good cupcakes!

You’re killing it, Nancy! I’m so happy for you. Hopefully you can take this momentum and transfer it along to next semester as well.

How did you first hear about the cyber challenge? It sounds really cool, but rather difficult. Your placement is really impressive.

I love the grove, but haven’t visited in over a year :/ I’ve never heard of Dupar’s; would you recommend going? All of your noms sound delicious. Have you ever tried the sprinkles ATM? I want to go!

Congrats on passing your class with an A, and on how well you did in the cyber challenge! I think 46th is really good when there’s so many participants.

I feel like cupcakes are a big trend, and most places don’t do them well. I prefer making them myself. I do like Sprinkles though. I wish there were ones in my city, but there aren’t 🙁

And those cupcakes look so yummy. I’m a big sweets fan so I really like cupcakes and such, but I’m glad you had a good day with the boyfriend (:

Oh girl, way to go! You did a great job! Way to place 46th! Most people would think that is pretty bad, but out of 495 people….that’s amazing!

Oh cupcakes…I love cupcakes! I have never been to Sprinkles….I will have to stop by one and get a cupcake!

Woohoo! Congrats on totally killing that class! 🙂 I love having classes that aren’t too difficult so I can focus on my harder ones. My English class last semester was pretty similar – somehow I ended up with 100%. Easy shmeezy, eh?

That’s awesome that you did so well! Especially since you haven’t had a formal education of it. You’ll do really well, Nancy!

Baha, I hate when you really crave something in the morning but they don’t serve it yet! That’s how I am with Taco Bell or ice cream places… 😛 I like cupcakes, I just tend to not like the icing/frosting. They tend to be too sugary and sweet and just, eh. So I usually wipe it off, haha.

Happy February to you too! 😀

Congrats on the class! I love the feeling of acing a class. It’s pretty awesome. & on your placing in the cyber challenge too. I wish I stuck to an engineering major.. haha, It’s pretty cool to be a girl in a predominantly male major.

Eeee, Sprinkles cupcakes!! They’re amazing. 🙂 They will make you love cupcakes the more you have them 😛

Have a happy February to you too! ♥

Congratulations on the completion of your course AND placing so high in your contest challenge. That’s really awesome. =D

Days with the boyfriend are always the best. I love spending time with Keith just going out to eat and enjoying the day as a whole without worrying about what’s next.

Yay for being done with your computer class~ 🙂 and most likely getting an A in the class. It’s always so rewarding after the class is over and you get the grade you’ve been working hard for!

Lol dang, they didn’t have crab cakes..then no steak pot pie? The place must’ve been super packed with the food going like that. Bacon and swiss burger sounds like a good alternative option! yum 😀 Glad to hear you had a fantastic day nancy!

Awwww, I miss The Grove! I use to go there all the time when my boyfriend use to live in Hollywood. The food there is always so fun and delicious. Have you tried eating Mongolian BBQ there? I recommend it!
