Imminent Autumn
September 7, 2014

A new season means a new set of list/bucket list/things to do over the fall. I’m going to live ~30 miles away from home so I’ll be in a new environment this time around. With that said, I put together tasks that’s plausible to accomplish ☺.

Academia
  • 3.3+ GPA: With 4 classes/16 units, I’m aiming for a 3.3+ GPA. ’nuff said.
  • Clubs: I’m looking into joining a couple of clubs this quarter. Both pertains to information technology and I can imagine the benefits (and fun) I can get out of the organizations. The department chair introduced me to a couple of the eboard members yesterday so that’s a start ☺.
  • NCL Top 50%: I’m participating in NCL again this fall! NCL is a capture-the-flag cyber security competition. I did pretty well last year and I expect the same this year even though there will be more competition with more participants (unless the game completely changed ;o).

Homemade Goodies
  • Onigiri: I haven’t made legit/delicious onigiri yet.. Maybe I will this fall. Onigiri is awesome because it’s almost mess-free to eat and a lot cheaper to make at home.
  • Mini Burgers: Miniature versions of food are cute. Mini burgers are perfect if you want a variety to munch on at once ☺.
  • Glass Cup/Bowl Goodies: There are some food that looks better in a glass cup or bowl ;).
  • Smoothie/juice in Mason Jar: I don’t think I will complete this in my Summer Bucket List but I still want it to happen.
  • Better Miso Soup: Instead of making miso soup from powdery packets, I want to make miso soup from actual miso paste.
  • Pho: Surprisingly, I haven’t made pho on my own yet. Maybe I will this fall. (Phở looks weird in the body font but here it is for those who are picky with accents).
Food Outings
  • Sushi Asahi: People raved about this all you can eat sushi place in Riverside. I was disappointed by Pacific Cabin soooo here is Riverside’s chance for redemption.
  • Jazz Cat: SHABU SHABU!!! Must I say more?
  • Moodaepo: Or anything else, I heard there are some decent Korean BBQ places here… And Korean BBQ is delicious.
  • 12am In-N-Out Run: I wonder how it feels like going out for In-N-Out at 12am…
  • Discover Hidden Gems
Else
  • Band Reunion: I can temporarily relive my band days by playing at my high school’s homecoming game ☺.
  • Scrapbook Bits: Since I put together a scrapbook over the summer, I might as well start filling it up.
  • Adventure Time: Not the tv show. Doing adventurous things outside of school time sounds great, doesn’t it?
  • Seasonal Decoration: I want to decorate my room (or soon to be room) with a seasonal theme for fun.

I hope you will do some posts about the “adventure times”. They sound interesting!

I’m so excited for you and your plans! Can’t wait to read all about them on this space of yours, especially the food outings and homemade goodies you’re planning to accomplish! 😀

I confess to getting excited when you said “adventure time”. Sorry! But real adventures, yesss! Even better. Go for it. Wahoo! (Hehe!)

But all this sounds really exciting. It’s a good idea to write everything down so you know what you want to do. I should take a leaf out of your book 🙂

Looks like you will be busy, but have a good time, and I hope you share some of your “adventure times” with us, when you do have them. I would love to hear them!

Good luck to everything you do! ^.^ Woot~

Yes, please post about your “adventure time”!

I think having a bucket list per season sounds much more manageable than one for your lifetime. I always look at mine and think “eh, one day I’ll get around to it” but never do. I think I’ll give this idea a go!

Best of luck with your goals for this fall, particularly with the ones relating to school. I hope you that you settle in well to your new home at school, but at least your close enough to home to visit frequently.

Good luck with all your plans in the fall! You have a variety of stuff to do! I especially am looking forward to your cooking adventures and hope they all turn out great! ^^ Especially with the miso soup! Will you share your recipe with me if it’s a success? XD

Anyway, good luck with school! You will get that 3.3+ gpa! Whoo hoo! <3

Good luck with your list! I hope you’ll find good clubs to join. I was in one in college and loved it 🙂 It’s how I met most of my friends!

Yum, I haven’t done any of the ones on your homemade goodies list. We like to grill burgers, but we prefer to just do large ones, haha. I should learn how to make onigiri. I love them, and they’d be easy to pack for work 🙂

I hope we’ll see entries about the things on your list as you do them 😀

Hope you share pics and recipes of your homemade recipes if you ever get around to it! And of your seasonal decorations 🙂 You definitely have a lot of room for decor ideas with winter coming up as well!

& Oh my gosh, Sushi Asahi. I’m going to try that place when I go home next week! I’ve seen everyone rave about it so it better live up to its reputation, ahah.

I’ll have to let you know, going to In-N-Out at 12AM pretty much feels like going to In-N-Out at any time of day 😛 except shorter lines, I suppose.

Miso soup is actually ridiculously easy to make. I think the soup stock is the hardest part if you really want to make THAT from scratch, but they do make bouillon for the soup base that isn’t half bad.

On top of that, it’s just a spoonful of miso paste, wakame seaweed, tofu, and scallions. Super easy!
