I started school again this past Wednesday at another school for the Winter session… I am taking another computer class; mostly for the experience (and to kill time). I was supposed to have a 2-month “winter break” except I’d rather do something more productive than staying at home. Based on two class sessions so far, the class seems pretty easy. Although I am pretty familiar with computers, I hope I don’t stress about it like how I did with Accounting.

On Wednesday, I tried to purchase a parking permit at one of the offices 2 hours before class. There were almost 200 people in front of me waiting to be served. Being hopeful and having nothing better to do, I decided to wait around to see if I was lucky enough to have my number called. Unfortunately by the time I had to go to class, there were still 40 people ahead of me. I went to class instead and went back to the office afterwards to see if I could still purchase a parking permit. At 6 PM, I purchased a parking permit within 10 minutes.

Yesterday, my boyfriend and I had an afternoon meal at a sushi bar then went laser tagging afterwards. Since this is the first time I went laser tagging, I wasn’t really fond with how the game is supposed to be played. It took me a game to get used to the main idea of the concept and it’s nothing like Call of Duty. Even though I was on the bottom half of the leaderboard  I had fun regardless so it didn’t really matter to me. Since I was playing along with a bunch of children, they could have the glory instead. I had a fun day overall ^_^.

This month, I am looking forward into taking on the Cyber Quest (which kind of relates to my major) and registering for my classes for the Spring. There are a few more things I’m looking forward to this month which might or might not be mentioned later on. I’m off to a good start in 2013 :).

    Hey Nancy! Happy new year! I say this all the time and it’s embarrassing but sorry I didn’t get to drop by earlier. xD;

I personally wouldn’t take a computer class to kill time – wait, what time? I don’t have much time as it is! Haha.

I hate waiting for lines. So many times I’ve just waited and waited and then given up. I think that happened recently, but I don’t remember where. I have an awful memory, it seems. I guess when it comes to buying tickets, the trick is to find a time when it’s just not that busy. I like to buy my weekly train tickets in the afternoon or really early in the morning. Any later in the morning it just gets way too busy.

I haven’t ever played laser tag but a lot of people say it’s fun. My brother has played it once before and he says it’s fun. Playing with children must be more fun – it’s nice you let them win and stuff. Kids are wonderful. I can imagine playing with a bunch of teenagers or people your age would result in a bit more rough playing haha.

Thanks for your comment! Looks like you beat me to commenting in the new year <3 I guess the good thing about living in Sydney is the weather in Christmas because it's in summer as opposed to the general American winter. I do want to experience snow though 😛 Then again we all want what we can't have.

You have two month winter break for community college? LUCKY! There are other ways to kill time, I would have gotten a job haha. But if you like the class, yay!!! Not a bad thing to get credits!

Ooo great use of time to get the parking permit!

I’ve never been laser tagging. I really wanna play! LOL Call of Duty. According to my brother, nothing is as good as Call of Duty so if he hears you think it’s like laser tagging, you are in trouble!

Yay for a good start! I am starting 2013 pretty good but school is in a 2 1/2 weeks … noooo.

=( I don’t know if I’m going to LA again. I should have said something last time. I have several online friends in LA. But I don’t think my mom would have let me anyway.

Well I heard starting at a CC isn’t a bad thing! You get good grades and transfer to a university and no one’s gonna know! It looks better than my terrible grades in freshman year anyway.

    Take care!

    Happy New Year!
I will be taking a computer class as well, although I don’t have class until the 22nd so I have some time to kill xD

Getting a parking permit is almost like trying to get a new social security card for me x.x It can take hours before you get it and I had literally a few hundred people in front of me last time. It’s crazy how long you have to wait for one small thing x.x

I’m glad you had a good time laser tagging! It’s honestly a good time and I would love to go again. Sushi is always good, but I have yet to find a good sushi place near my house xD

Good luck with your new class and happy 2013! ^^

I’m amazed you decided to wait 2 hours! I would have given up once I saw how bad it was, haha. That sucks that you didn’t get called before your class, but at least the wait was a lot better afterwards. I guess you hit a popular part of the day earlier.

I’m pretty bad at laser tag too. I’ve played a couple times, and I usually end up in the bottom half. Oh well, it’s good fun!

Good luck with your new classes!

i took a whole year off from college, and it drove my absolutely crazy – so i get where you’re coming from with the taking a class during break.

your parking permit story sounds completely obnoxious. but at least now you can park without fear of a ticket! unless you park in a handicap spot or something :p

i loveee lazer tag. it’s been too long since i went. the last time i went was a girl scout all nighter, and all of the younger girls would just follow you around and shoot your vest continually. it wasn’t fun at all… so they started splitting the ages up – and then it got a lot more interesting.

You’re taking a class to kill time? I wish I was ambitious like that. I like to take my break completely, haha. 😛

Ugh the parking permit thing sounds a lot like campus’ version of the DMV. Terrible wait for absolutely no reason at all, most of the time. :/ Good thing it worked out for you later, though! I would’ve gone crazy if I had to wait a long time… again. Looks like after rush hour is the best time to go? 🙂

I can’t believe that was the first time you went laser tagging! I LOVE laser tag! It’s the absolute best, hehe. I know how you feel, though. I’m absolutely terrible but it’s so fun it doesn’t matter. Glad you had a great day. ^__^

I looked up Cyber Quest and it sounds pretty awesome. I wish I knew enough so I could participate. I love things like that!

    Happy 2013! (:

I’m glad to hear that you’re off to a good start. Yeah, 2 months doing nothing can be pretty boring. I think I would of done the same. Still, laser tag is fun.

I played it once and got owned by everyone. I normally play first person shooters like Borderlands and Fallout 3/NV, I was prepared for laser tag, still I had fun because it was my birthday that day. 😛

I’m glad that you have an easy class. I’m sure you’ll get an A no problem!

oohh waited for a long time then came back at 6 and was able to purchase it pretty quickly. lol

that also happen to me when I was getting my clearance. there’s like 50 people ahead of me plus the very long process. I had to wait but my dad called me and want me to pick up my cousin. went back after couple of hours and got the clearance in just 5mins. duh!

Awhh, your night sounds so lovely and like so much fun! I went laser tagging for my birthday last year and I loved it mostly because of the people I went with, less because of the game – I’m terrible at it.

Lines are the worst. We used to have that problem in high school. I was an aid for our office so I didn’t have to go through the line process but the rest of my friends did and they’d have to line up so early.

    Hello there Nancy!

I started school again after our mini break of 5-7 days. I did not want it to end, not at all. I can’t believe you have a 2 month break! That sounds awesome!

I’ve never played laser tag… It sounds pretty fun though. I’ve heard of Call of Duty but I’ve never played that either 🙁 I’d like to buy an Xbox or PS3 or Wii so I can get back into playing video games – every now and again.

    Have fun girly!

  11. Christa ☆ January 8, 2013 at 3:50 pm

Going to school instead of doing nothing other then “hanging out” is a great idea, and it will keep you out of trouble! Haha! Just kidding! 🙂

The office sounds like the DMV in town! I once when in there and one person working with the “waiting room” FULL and people standing…I left. I hate waiting.

Laser tag has always sounded fun to me but there’s no place in the area that has anything like that. We did have an indoor putt-putt place, but they closed a few months ago. 🙁 We have nothing other then to go to a movie.

Good luck with your computer class! Laser tag, for me, is so hard to “get”, haha. I never used to like going because it was expensive and involved too much dedication. My friends used to get WAYYYY TO INTO IT. Glad you guys had fun though! You sound like a much better sport than I am.

Glad to know you got your parking permit without a hitch once you went back. Sometimes it’s best to go later when no one’s around or thinking to go.
