Last Minute February Yummies
February 28, 2014

Wanting to squeeze another post before February ends, here’s another food post over the span of the past two days.

Yesterday, I went to have lunch with a friend at this place called, “Vegas Seafood Buffet”. The name practically says it all except it wasn’t in Vegas. Since we went there for lunch, it costed us ~$16 with tip + tax per person compared to ~$28 for the dinner price. The sushi bar had a good variety of choices, which was pretty decent considering there were rolls, sashimi/nigiri, and roe (fish eggs).

I tried sampling most of the sushi rolls, sashimi/nigiri, and roe. From what I remembered, a few of these pieces are from the spicy tuna, tuna, crunchy, and Philadelphia roll. On the side, there are the yellowtail (white), tilapia fillet, and a different types of roe. My favorite pieces from this plate are the tuna + Philadelphia roll and the tilapia fillet.

Next up, I tried out their “clam chowder” soup. The soup was mislabeled because it’s nothing like the *normal* clam chowder we’re used to. To be more-so on the accurate side, the soup should’ve been labeled as “fish maw soup”. Regardless of the mix-up, it was still delicious! My parents used to make this soup when I have night classes in the previous semesters so I normally miss out :(. I finally got to try out the salmon nigiri this time and got some of the same things as the previous dish.

We were getting full at this time so we ended our meal by sharing a plate of tilapia fillets and clams! It was a nice meal, especially since I got to catch up on life with my friend. Since the mall is right across the street, we dropped by a couple of stores to kill some time before leaving.

This buffet place is overall decent; especially how there are so many different types of food there. I can’t really compare it to the “all you can eat sushi” I ate at during Valentine’s Day since they both focus on different themes. I would recommend this restaurant only for lunch hours unless you plan on eating a bunch of crab legs for dinner.

And then today, my boyfriend wanted to have shrimp tacos and made it happen! It was a simple and delicious meal- especially since I love eating tacos ☺. This was the first time he made guacamole and the ingredients had a good consistency. Homemade food might take longer to make, but the benefits make up for it (depending on the dish).

Lastly, we wanted to have some In-N-Out for dinner. The initial plan was to go to one next to the mall but there was a power outage so we took a detour to another one nearby. We got some animal style fries and grilled cheese/hamburgers.

That’s pretty much it for this post. With February out of the way, March comes next!

You need to stop posting all these delicious food pictures. They are always making me hungry — especially now, and I just ate!

And I agree that home-made food takes longer, but it’s usually way better in the long run! Of course, I hate the work involved in it, so I usually don’t cook LOL. Though I should do it more often!

Ugh! Nancy! Why must you share these yummies with us?! I’m getting hungry and craving sushi and In-N-Out now! You like Philadelphia Roll too?! That’s my favorite along with the Salmon! Not one of my friends like the Philadelphia Roll because of the cream cheese, but IT’S. SO. GOOD!

You are certainly making me sooo hungry now. I’m just cooking dinner and I just want what you had instead. Yums! I want In-N-Out now 🙁

That’s a good price for a buffet with that much seafood! I normally don’t see buffet places with nigiri, so that’s nice. I prefer nigiri over rolls 🙂 I think it’s kind of funny that they labeled that soup as clam chowder, haha. It doesn’t look anything like what most people think of for clam chowder.

Yay for tacos! We’ve been making chicken tacos at home lately. We haven’t tried shrimp ones yet, but those look good!

Oh that food looks so delicious. I think $16 is a very good deal for good food plus tax and tip- especially if the buffet was all you can eat! I could definitely make a few trips to the buffet with seafood, yummy. THOSE CLAMS LOOK SO SCRUMPTIOUS I CAN BARELY STAND LOOKING AT THEM. And there mere mention of crab legs makes me salivate.

I’ve never had In N Out Burger but that looks pretty bombtastic as well.

So to say the least after reading this post I could eat my foot if I just had a condiment to slather on it.

OH MY…. I have been thinking of Sushi all day and then I plopped onto your blog, and GUESS WHAT?? It’s about sushi!!! I think it’s a sign for me.

Every pic that you took looks so delish to me. Were you in Vegas for very long?
In-and-Out burger… we stopped there on the drive to Vegas last October, and I gotta say… it’s as good as advertised 🙂
