I can’t believe we’re already halfway into May. With that said, anything happening since my last blog post 10 days ago?

Last week, I had Panera Bread with my boyfriend like we do on Wednesday nights before my evening class. The next day, I received my score for the music test and I got 1 wrong which is a 98%. One of my classmates got the same problem wrong and got a 99% instead. It’s still an A either way so it doesn’t really bug me. Then on Friday, my boyfriend and I went to a culinary symposium saw a few presentations from making flowers in gelatin to making designs from food to black forest themed cakes. It was a nice event and these people are so talented in their work… Best of all, it’s edible!!! Later on the day, my boyfriend made some authentic tacos and it was delicious. Much, much more delicious than the tacos I had from King Taco earlier that week since it’s legit. Woo! Perks of dating a Hispanic man! (◕‿◕✿) *insert teary laughing face here*. A bit over half of the weekend was spent doing my stats homework I totally procrastinated on over the weeks. It’s totally worth it since it helped me study for the test that way.

Then came this week… On Monday at 4am, I somehow accumulated a stomach flu. I’ll skip over the symptoms I had and just say that it was really bad. I had an exam for Statistics that day and I couldn’t miss it or make it up. My boyfriend was there to help me the whole way though. He picked me up and went off to Starbucks to do some studying before heading off to school. Surprisingly, I feel confident about this exam. I’ll see how that goes when the scores are out. We went to The Habit after the exam to buy my boyfriend one of those delicious veggie charbroiled burgers. Other than that, I skipped out on my other classes since I didn’t feel good enough to attend. I recovered from the whole thing during the early evening so I’m fine now. On the bright side to all of this, I managed to successfully register for a class this summer during my registration that day. I’m going to take Business Law which sounds like… Fun!

As for the result of the Anthropology exam, it turns out that I got 68 points out of 88. That’s around 77% so I did better than I expected… And the average of the class scored in the 40%’s. For Philosophy, it turns out that I got a 61% on the test. I’m a bit shocked at the results since I have no idea how I’m going to pull off a C at the very least… And I can’t drop the class since it’s already too late. Hopefully, I will figure something out.

On Thursday, I had a speech to present about persuading people to cut soda out of their diet. I spent my entire free time working on the outlines and presentation that day and it went better than I expected. I even squeezed time to eat at In-N-Out with one of my classmates.

To wrap up this week, I spent my Friday with my boyfriend going to the Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills, having a delicious meal of Pacific Shrimp & Bay Shrimp Tostada Salad from The Farmer’s Market at The Grove, munching on some cupcakes from Sprinkles Cupcakes, and munched on some Papa John’s pizza while watching Jack Reacher. It was a food-filled day and it was totally worth it.

With that said, there are 2 1/2 weeks + finals left before the semester ends!

That’s weird that you guys got a different score, but 98% is already really high at least 🙂 A culinary symposium sounds fun to go to! I like seeing people creating art with food, especially desserts. It’s why I like decorating cakes.

Yums, authentic tacos are great. I like how simple they are too. They usually seem to be marinated meats with just a couple toppings.

That sucks that you got a stomach flu, especially when you had an exam! I’m glad you feel better though. That’s too bad about your Philosophy too. I hope you’ll be able to figure something out!

Wah, I’m so jealous of all your food photos 🙂

Now that you mention it, yeah…we’re reaching half of the month. I barely realize it! wow, it’s like time’s being accelerated twice its initial speed lol

Congrats on getting A! you must be bright then *o* A is like…almost impossible for me, especially since I’m studying a major whose evaluation tends to vary depending on the teacher’s mood. yeah, art is such a pain…no matter how much effort we put, when the professor’s having a bad mood, she/he will definitely give a “whatever” score. sigh.

Business law. Wow. Business and law combined. I don’t think I will survive that haha I’d rather study about complex stuff found in psychology, for example, rather than law. Was insisted by parents to pursue law or med though but I rebelled anyway 😛 as for business, I don’t think I was made for it. I can stand theories and texts and textbooks etc but only for some subjects, business is definitely out of area :)) it’s really cool to know that you’re interested in such sophisticated-looking class though. good luck for that 😀

    Ah, philosophy! If only my university requires us to take philosophy or psychology instead of ridiculous, unimportant one called “character building”, I don’t think I’d purposely drop the subject. ugh man, morals and social environments and stuff… no. I guess character building is sort of like anthropology but anthropology sounds a lot more interesting -__-;;

soda is no good! yes, cut out the soda! hahaha glad I was never a soda / soft drink consumer ever since I was a kid, such contrast to other youngsters I found out there.

Food looks really drool-worthy haha I want to eat those for lunch too 🙁 sigh, the downside of living in one part of Asia is that there’s no way I can just walk out of my house alone and have western-y lunch or breakfast with pancakes and stuff :s those are all inside malls, meh

Foodfoodfoodfood. I wish I was there with you. Okay, not really, since I’d be the third wheel, haha.

I hope you do figure something out with Philosophy. That’s what I’m afraid of: if I get a C or D in a class, I think I’ll lose my state scholarship, which covers full tuition. Why does college have to be so expensive in the U.S.?

    Good luck with your finals!

By this time you’re all done with your semester, I think! Yay! I’m sorry to hear you had a stomach flu, and right when everything with school was getting so busy. That’s no fun, but it’s great that you have such a nice boyfriend who is willing to take care of you! 🙂
