With my 19th birthday being last Friday, I decided to celebrate the occasion bit by bit throughout the week… Because why not? These daily mini-celebrations included having lunch with a friend, treating myself to a couple of new shirts, going on a picnic, munching on a tostada salad/pizza/frozen yogurt/sushi, and watching Man of Steel with my boyfriend. I definitely enjoyed my week :).

My boyfriend and I celebrated our 11 months (that’s how we roll) by going out to have Pho (a Vietnamese noodle soup). We decided to go to a different Pho this time for… Variety? I don’t know what to call it since there are so many names of Pho restaurants with similar menu selections. Some of these names include Pho [insert number here], Pho [insert location here], and Pho [insert person’s name here]. Going back to my main point, I found out later on during the day that the restaurant is closing down on Saturday. I usually eat here once a year with some friends and I’m glad that I ate here one last time before it’s gone.

With having a week and a half of vacation before having to start my summer courses, I’m taking it easy. I have a hobby of making kandi bracelets even though I don’t go to raves (yet). My collection is decent sized [click]. With time to spare, I made two new bracelets; a concept I haven’t tried making before. They call it the “Saturn Kandi” [click]. I tried buying more beads with my boyfriend at Walmart yesterday but most of the inventory for these pony beads were gone…. Then I remembered that EDC is coming up this weekend. I thought I’d share that little story with you :6.

For my Anthropology class, I ended up getting a B. I’m satisfied with my grade and it brings my overall GPA to a 3.53. My schedule for the Fall looks pretty light for the time being.

Before I run off for another week, I attempted to make a “sushi cake” two weeks ago. I never baked a cake or anything baked before so I basically “winged” the whole thing. Instead of making the sushi cake cylinder-shaped like it’s supposed to, it ended up looking like a dome. You can see the picture below. I went for a second round on Monday but failed since I couldn’t make the rice stick to the sides…. Except I finally made it cylinder-shaped. I need more practice through skill application.

Sounds like a you had a fantastic week! I am so jealous that you got to see Man of Steel!

I definitely know what you mean with all of those Phở restaurant names. If you go to Chinatown in Boston, there are like five Phở restaurants all next to each other with random names and numbers. But they’re all good. Those kandi bracelets also look really cute! Congrats on your grade too, you’re doing great! Keep up the good GPA! 😀

That food looks goooood oh man. Pho also sounds super good, I can’t remember if I’ve had it before but regardless I’m a bit jealous! Those beads look super cute too 😀

Also happy (belated) birthday hehe I didn’t forget that we turned nineteen on the same day :B

Happy belated birthday! I always love doing the same thing…celebrating a bit throughout the week. It’s fun! You made a sushi cake? What flavor was it?

All of your IG photos are making me want to eat, btw, haha.

Happy belated 19th birthday! I’m glad you had a great week 🙂
I love Pho, but I only go to 2 places and I have no idea what it’s called :S. But I found a lot of Asian places have similar names.
The sushi cake looks so cool! Argh the food in the pictures look so yummy, I’m getting hungry again haha.

Celebrating your birthday over the week sounds like a good idea 😉 Might as well enjoy it for more than one day! I’m glad you had a great week!

Congrats on 11 months! I’ve noticed how most pho places have “Pho” in the name. It makes it easy to tell what kind of restaurant it is, I suppose. It just makes it confusing to remember which is which, haha.

Wow, you have a lot of kandi bracelets. They’re cute! I especially like that there’s a Hello Kitty one 🙂

Congrats on your Anthropology grade too! I’m glad your Fall schedule is light. Your last semester sounded crazy, so it’s good to go a little lighter after that. Otherwise, you might get burned out really early!

I saw your sushi cake on Instagram, and it looked so good and yummy. What a cool idea!
