Season of Gratitude
November 26, 2015

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Hope all of you enjoyed the day whether you celebrate it or not. The fact that the year is almost over is finally hitting me. Where did the time go? What have I been doing?! Regardless of that, it’s the season of gratitude/thanks for dealing with all of the things that happened over the year.

I recently bought a design bundle that came with a bunch of cool stuff and I made a cool floral banner out of it ?. It’s time for me to express my gratitude along with adding a few random points that made my year so far.

My boyfriend has been a true blessing to me. I enjoy every moment we spend together and I am grateful for all of the things he do for me. He’s smart, talented, caring, amazing, supportive, and a great cook. We have new experiences every year so we’re always learning something new about each other. We’re going to school together and it’s great even though we are usually doing our own things separately.

  • Cooking up a delicious bowl of chicken broth when I was really sick a year ago.
  • Randomly bringing me gorgeous flowers.
  • Being really patient with me when I have my moments.
  • Going for spontaneous adventuring together.
  • Sharing a common love for sushi and American muscle cars even though I’m converting to the dark side.

Even though I’m the black sheep of the family, I’m still thankful to have them. They want what’s best for me and do what they can to help me (without making me overly spoiled). Though, it would be nice if they’re okay with me wanting to buy a modern American muscle car. Plot twist: I end up buying a Lexus RC350 to please them instead 😹.

  • Constantly pushing me to go beyond the norm and never settle for less.
  • My mom always asked if I have enough money to spend at school (even though I am practically independent).
  • Making big meals every time I go home during the school year.

Friends come from many places whether they’re from school, life, and even the blogging community. I met a lot of awesome people this year along with making existing friendships better. There are times when I’m too lazy to spend time with people but at the end, I always end up having fun. Friends are great when there are positive vibes going on~

  • Being supportive and looking out for me when needed.
  • Having awesome inside jokes and always making new ones.
  • Going on food runs and adventuring to different places.
  • Exchanging comments and sharing experiences with other bloggers.
  • Learning new things about others and having interesting interests.
  • Laughing at the memes we send to each other.

Yes, my cats and other cute cats who lets me touch them have a dedicated section. My cats are my pride and joy for so many years. If I am willing to break the rules at the university village, I would totally have my cats live with me. Otherwise, I try to visit cats that are up for adoption nearby once in a while. I am naturally happy whenever I see cats and I’m happy with being a total cat person. I have a few cat plush toys and erasers in my room to keep me cat-company… #FutureCrazyCatLady

I am very thankful for being a student at my school right now along with having many opportunities to participate in some worthwhile events. I’m extremely happy with being a student at Cal Poly and don’t regret choosing this school.

  • Being a student in the Computer Information Systems program.
  • Being the Vice President of the forensics and security club.
  • Fitting in a ‘second job’ as a Teaching Assistant for management information systems.
  • Participating in the IT Competition in the forensics category.
  • Meeting awesome people at school.
  • Creating an awesome informational poster for a student research conference.
  • Appreciating the nature and habitat at school.

Working as The IT gives me a lot of valuable experiences. This year, I know how our ERP system works inside and out so creating queries and KPI’s take a few minutes to complete rather than hours. Implementing many process flows take a lot of critical thinking such as, “What database do I need to pull this field from” or “How do we make the user interaction seamless?“– which is exciting. The people at work are great to work with and talk to.

I am very thankful for having a balanced health overall. Even though I got sick once or twice this past year, it wasn’t severe but it made me become a bit more cautious about the things I eat. Since then, I have been eating less meat and more veggies as well as exercising a bit more.

There are many other things I’m thankful for having. Often times, we overlook the little things in life that makes us happy. Here are 5 random things I’m thankful for:

  • Sushi
  • Blogs
  • Easy parking
  • Online shopping and discounts
  • Cars

Aw, Nancy! I love the floral banners. They are pretty and make your posts eye-catching and very appealing!

Love the floral banners, as well! I’m thankful for a multitude of things that I cannot write out. I really can’t because my debt of gratitude goes far beyond anything. You’ve always been a hard worker and a great person and I can see that just from reading your posts!

I always enjoy them, and for many times, I can at least say I’m grateful to all my online friends including you! Glad you had a great Thanksgiving. I did too!

Happy Thanksgiving! It’s not celebrated in my country (Australia) but I think it is such a good thing to take the time and appreciate and be thankful for the things in your life.

There are so many great bundles available where you can get awesome graphics. It’s so much fun playing around with them. 😀 I especially love the texture and font ones. 😀

It’s wonderful that your boyfriend is such a great person and very supportive. Having people in your life that you can trust and care about is so good.

Family, why can you not see how logical it is to have a muscle car. Hahahah. Brilliant.

<3 This was a really great post and I am glad that there are many things in your life that you can be thankful for. :’)

Belated happy Thanksgiving! You have plenty of things to be thankful for. You’re very blessed! 😀 Being in good health is something a lot of people take for granted.

I love the floral banners too! <3

I love this post Nancy! I think we are all sometimes so busy to think about how much people have helped us/been there for us no matter what. It’s really easy to forget sometimes so I’m glad thanksgiving is a thing because I think lots of people think about how thankful they are and just share the love all over again! <3 It's really nice.

Although I don't celebrate it, I feel a part of it (aw, thanks Nancy! 😉 ) I love being a part of people's blogging experience through comments. It's really nice!

THIS YEAR HAS FLOWN. I'M 20 NEXT YEAR. SAY WHAT.

Thank you for sharing this – the expressions and depth that you have really spoke out to me. This year’s thanksgiving flew by too quickly with many weddings, anniversaries that I didn’t have a moment to really pause and be thankful for all that I have. Your bf sounds like an amazing blessing and family, there’s so many angles but at the end of they day they will support you no matter what. Hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving not only filled with great food, but love and memories

First of all, the banner is so pretty especially with the florals in it. Through this post, I can sense that you had a wonderful experience for this year in all aspects of your life. You’re already complete (love life, family, health and career) Congrats on being the vice president of your club!! I’m also glad to be one of the bloggers who often comments on your posts.
    Belated Happy thanksgiving!
