Springing Forward
April 2, 2016

Spring quarter started earlier this week. My class schedule looks pretty light for once, but I’m still a pretty busy person with other things going on. I’m thankful for the things I have whether it’s getting the classes I need or having the ability to carry out certain tasks. Long story short, here are some things I’m looking forward to this quarter!

  • Sleeping In More: I’m thankful for not having 8am classes this quarter, which means I can sleep in more often during the week!
  • Healthier Lifestyle: I’ve been eating relatively healthier recently and I’m looking forward to continuously improve my habits.
  • Senior Project (x2): I am taking two senior project classes this quarter. One is for the College of Business and the other is for the Computer Information Systems department. My team for CIS seem pretty competent and well-rounded.
  • Secure Web Application Development: I am pretty excited for this class because we’re going to learn some offensive and defensive security when it comes to web development. ~Anyone can code a website that connects to a database. Can they secure it?~
  • IT Competition: My team received a case study and have to create a mobile device security policy for a “company” by the following weekend and present it to a panel later this month!
  • Bit of Adventuring: Exploring around town is pretty awesome considering how there are lots of venues around. My boyfriend and I had a spontaneous adventure date at the South Coast Plaza the other day. Let’s see where life takes us next!
  • More Gaming: Can we agree that a moderate amount of gaming is good for your health?
  • Spring Cleaning: Spring cleaning is a continuous task for me. I guess it’s the season of hustle and bustle!
  • DIY Recipes: Homemade meals are awesome, especially when it’s made from scratch! What I’m looking forward is adding variety to my meals.
  • Banquet: With the school year wrapping up, I’m looking forward to attending a few banquets!
  • Commencement: Wrapping up spring quarter and my whole undergraduate career is commencement in June~

What are you looking forward to this season?

Yay for sleeping in! I’m all for sleeping in because I’m the type that’s happy with sleeping for 8-10 hours daily XD; But yes to sleeping in because you do need sleep to stay healthy!

I wish you luck on your senior projects and your IT competition! I hope to read more about them in the future on what outcome you have for both of them.

Definitely explore your own city. You can always find so much in your area. I love doing that in Seoul, too, but I need to stop being so lazy, haha! Also, DIY cooking is definitely better for you financially and health-wise in the long run, so do keep that up.

Good luck with this quarter! Start planning for those banquets and your commencement, girl! <3

I envy other programs where they have design classes and having their pet projects. I am hoping to start my own project this summer and make something productive related to my course.

Gaming is defs good for your health! XD And also sleeping in. It’s important to get enough sleep even as an adult.

Secure Web Application Development sounds like a fun class and a crucial one too. Can’t take security for granted!

    Beautiful pictures, I love the colours… So spring-y 🙂

Sounds like you’ve got a good few months coming up. Yay for sleeping in, feeling healthier and having adventures

I was nodding the whole time as I was reading this post haha! I’ve made up a plan for myself too and most of it is similar to yours, in particular: sleep, eat healthy and game.

100% agree with the comment that a little bit of gaming is needed in anyones life. I noticed personally that when I game a little, my stress levels decline by ALOT.

Good luck with the last push left until you graduate and the competition! I’m sooo looking forward to it, probably as more than you LOL!

June is not that far away. I am super excited for you! Also, it’s great that you don’t have to wake up so early anymore. It must be a relief.

I haven’t played games in a really long time but I have to admit any kind of digital fun is good for a break. Even surfing the Internet haha.

Even after living in Sydney for 24 years, I find hidden gems, and they just keep popping up. New things keep on appearing! I feel like so many people get bored with their city and they don’t really give it a chance before dashing off to somewhere else. I feel like I’ve given Sydney enough of a chance, but it’s a pretty non-advanced city so at the same time I feel there’s not that much I enjoy. I gotta keep looking haha.

OMG <3 Lovely Spring flowers! Oh how I wish my country had spring. hahaha!

Interested on the gaming! What games do you play now?

Really glad that you're looking forward to your schedule. Do update us on the case study. It's gonna be interesting!

That’s great that your classes seem light. I hated 8 am classes when I had them until this year. But three days of the week I have to get up at 5:30, so getting up for my 8 am classes isn’t so bad! Being able to sleep in is wonderful, so I’m glad that you get to this quarter!

Yay for eating healthier! With the weather warming up, I always am more inspired to exercise and eat healthier. A lot of is just being able to go outside and enjoy the weather!

Looks like you have a lot to look forward to this quarter!

Yay for not having 8am classes! I had a few during college, and I hated having to wake up that early. Sleeping in is the best XD That’s great that you’ve been eating healthier lately too!

The Secure Web Application Development class sounds really useful. Security is becoming more and more important when it comes to web development, especially with all the recent hacks. Good luck on your senior projects and IT competition!

haha, I totally agree that gaming in moderation is good for you. Can be good for your mental health and improving coordination!

I’m looking forward to the upcoming Anime convention season!

First, those photos of flowers looks pretty.

And wow you sure have a lot of things to look forward to. I am wishing a good luck on your competition and projects. That secure web application development sounds hard to me haha but I guess you can do it.

I hate 8 AM classes, I remember having 8AM classes back then and I just cant wake up early so I ended up getting to school really late lol. Hooray for a healthier lifestyle!

Well, I look forward on my external defense this coming April 11,12 and 13. I dont’ know which date will fall my defense. Also looking forward to graduation this coming June. You mentioned that you’re having commencement exercise on June too. yay we’re the same! 🙂

  12. Thao ☆ April 6, 2016 at 10:08 pm

Love the flower pictures! Definitely screams spring time!

Yikes! I can’t imagine doing two senior design projects! One was enough, but I had super super senioritis by spring quarter senior year. So kudos to you for keeping it up! Finish strong!

  13. Amy ☆ April 7, 2016 at 11:50 am

You’re always so busy! Glad to hear your 8am classes are over. I can’t believe you’d have a class at that time anyway – that’s so early! I’m always glad for the weekends when I get a lie-in! It’s nice to be able to relax.

There’s no such thing as too much gaming. I’m playing GTA V and Battlefront at the moment, but I need to get back to Pokemon and Tony Hawk soon too. So much gaming!

    Good luck with your classes!
