Summer 2013
September 1, 2013

With summer ending and school starting again in a couple of days, this post will somewhat summarize the wonderful events that took place in the last 2 months. Some of the content might repeat information for those who regularly follow my blog. Regardless of that, enjoy~

  • Business Law
I needed to take a class to get some credits out of the way and decided to go with Business Law. I was fortunate enough to enroll in the class without being waitlisted because the class is pretty popular for all sorts of people. Despite of the fact I struggled a bit with the quizzes/exams, I still manage to earn an A in the class.
  • Boyfriend Time~
I spent a good amount of my summer hanging out with my boyfriend. We had our fair share of going out and “chilling in”. It’s really nice spending time with him, especially since we don’t have the *luxury* of seeing each other often like this. My boyfriend is awesome :D.
  • Food
Food is essential in life so might as well enjoy what you’re eating, right? I definitely enjoyed myself with the food I had. I made sushi quite often for practice and consumption purposes. I finally got the “seal of approval” from my mom; since she finally enjoyed looking forward to my homemade sushi after so many months of having disapproval. My boyfriend and I went out to eat for half of the summer and cooked some homemade meals for the other half. We went out for foods such as a shrimp tostada salad, seafood, Asian food, diner food, hamburgers, ribs, boba, and more. For the homemade portion, we were on a budget and made some delicious sushi, pasta, mac & cheese, sopes, and hashbrowns.
  • Cyber Camp
There was a post dedicated to cyber camp; but in addition to that, I met and reunited with a lot of cool fellow computer nerds. I learned A LOT from the cybersecurity workshops provided to us. This camp gave me the additional motivation in majoring in the field. The results of the competition gave me a slight relief that I’m on the right track towards success.
  • Adventures
I had a good mix of going out and staying in. With that said, some of my adventures of going out included renting a deuce coupe bicycle and riding around the huge park, going to Raging Waters, getting braces (still an adventure to me under some unlisted circumstances), attending X Games, flying up to San Jose State University for cyber camp (then going out for a beef jerky run one night), having a massive water balloon fight, and so on.
  • Vacation
The point of summer vacation is to have a vacation, right? Even though I had school for a month, I still wanted to take it easy and let my brain recover from that hectic spring schedule. For sure, I enjoyed my summer :). As much as I’d like to have an extended summer, I can’t wait to go back to school to get some more classes out of the way.

Concluding this post, I start the fall semester on Tuesday. Thankfully, I start the school year with a 1-hour day since I have a 15-hour day on Wednesday (the next day). On the bright side, I can have that 4-day weekend like last fall :D.

Congrats on getting an A in Business Law!

Boyfriend time, good food, and adventures all sound like a great way to spend your summer break 😀 That’s awesome that your mom enjoys your sushi now too. I’ve been eating sushi more lately because it feels refreshing when it’s so hot outside, haha.

    Good luck with your classes!

That was an interesting summer, indeed. 😀 Plus, your writing is fantastic!

I’m glad you got to spend more and quality time with your boyfriend; sometimes it’s hard to see each other often, but that time together makes up for the lost days. ^_~

Ooh, cybersecurity! That’s one interesting topic. Do you like crypthography too?

My sister makes some delicious homemade sushi, but I don’t have the patience to learn myself. Always got too much to do, LOL. Maybe one day.

    Take care, and happy semester!

That’s always a good thing to look at the bright side of things. I only have a 3-day weekend and that’s fine with me. I go to school everyday but only two classes, each in the morning on different alternating days and only for an hour and a half.

Yay! Seems like you had a good time on your vacation. You did so much and yeah, school is nearly upon you, but I have no doubt that you’ll do good!

    You always do =)

A 15-hour day sounds extravagantly exhausting and long. 😡 Your summer was full of a lot of stuff, though! I felt like each time I read your blog, you came up and did some even more exciting stuff, like each week was full of some more fun. :p
