Summer So Far [Part II]
August 10, 2016

Life after college is pretty good so far. Even though I skipped out on treating myself to a vacation of some sort, I’m taking it easy for the time being. Part 1 of Summer So Far took place last year. There’s no harm in continuing a segment a year later!

  • Cauldron Ice Cream date ~ Who knew minty ice cream on an egg waffle can be so good?
  • Tried out the HTC Vive ~ I can’t wait for virtual reality to become an affordable household item! Loving the Google Tilt Brush app.
  • Dessert Hopping ~ Giving multiple dessert places a try on a sunny Sunday afternoon.
  • Getting called into jury duty ~ I (thankfully) didn’t have to serve in a trial and it was tolerable thanks to free wifi.
  • Suja Purify Juice ~ I discovered this at Whole Foods at the beginning of summer. I feel purified drinking it 😹.
  • Disney FriDate’s ~ Disneyland & Disney California Adventures = ❤️❤️❤️.
  • Work work work work ~ Still on that Monday through Friday 8-5 grind!
  • Finally caught up with Arrow ~ That ending though….. Felicity Smoak is still my Woman Crush Wednesday!
  • Watched Suicide Squad ~ Can’t wait to see how the Justice League movie pan out!
  • Bought a Nikon D5500 DSLR ~ Took me a couple of years to cave into the purchase. I’m excited to see what this bad boy can do.
  • Wardrobe splurging ~ I’m trying to phase out old clothes with some new ones primarily from Banana Republic + a couple of pieces from Ann Taylor.
  • PokemonGo ~ Even though I’m not some elite gym leader, this game does a great job at killing time!
  • Solo adventuring through Descanso Gardens ~ I wanted to take my DSLR out for a spin, so I decided to take a walk through the 160-acre land. I couldn’t resist trying out the self-timer function!

Sounds like a super busy and productive summer! How does it feel to only work and not have school also taking up your time? I know I felt free, but after a while, I began to suffer from the quarter-life crisis. I hope you can avoid that evilness!

I’m glad you didn’t have to serve a super long jury duty! The free wi-fi is definitely a good perk to have! 😀

And woot for the DSLR purchase! You have to blog about any tips and such for people who may consider one! I sort of want to buy one, but I can’t justify my need for it yet, haha! But do take that bad boy out and take awesome photos!

It feels great to have school completely off my mind! Though, I do miss it a bit XD. I’ll definitely blog about the DSLR review at some point. So far, I am loving it despite dropping ~$700 for it XD. There are other affordable options that are just as great!

Glad to hear you’re enjoying summer! I miss the summer break so much now I’ve finished uni. Work never ends haha!

I’m so jealous of how many times you go to Disney. I bet it’s great to have it so nearby. I think the most exciting thing near me is London, but that’s still a five hour drive!

I’m off to see Suicide Squad soon. So excited, but I keep hearing loads of negative reviews. Is it good?

Pokemon ago is my number one time-waster on bus journeys. I’m so glad it exists!

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

At this point, I don’t ever want to move out of the LA area because of Disneyland XD. Suicide Squad is okay. I appreciate the fact that DC/Warner Bros actually tried and produce a vigilante movie. It’s worth a watch to get it out of your system XD.

I do wish VR stuff would be more affordable! Both our Rift devkit and Vive were pretty pricey, and we don’t play them as much as our other consoles. They still have a ways to go on making games that feel more like real games too. Tilt Brush is really cool though!

I’m glad you weren’t picked for jury duty! I have a friend who was, and she was bored out of her mind. Also yay for new wardrobe. It feels good to cycle out old things 🙂

Congrats on the new DSLR! I still think my DSLRs are a couple of my favorite purchases. They might be bulky to take around, but the quality of the photos are worth it, and I love trying different lenses. Have fun with it!

That rainbow drink!! Ahh…it looks so delicious. I’m seeing all of these great drinks on people’s blogs and of course they are all alcoholic. Three more months…lol. I’m not a hardcore gym leader either. I like playing for fun and for some extra movement. It’s a great way to stay busy.

It sounds like you’re having a pretty good summer so far.

I’m yet to be called for jury duty although I must be one of the few people who is actually looking forward to getting the call!

Did you like Suicide Squad? I really wasn’t a fan, but I had a pretty low expectations before I went to see it. I guess I just feel DC haven’t be up to scratch lately.

If you go on vaycay, come to London *hinthint*

What I would do for a waffles, right now… D: Ahaaa, I picked up a bottle of Suja when we went to Whole Foods. It was so good! I am so behind on Arrow/everything else in this world – definitely need to make some time to catch up. Doesn’t help that I watch like a trillion things, haha.

    Loving the photos!

(Girl, I’m gonna start dreaming about Fun Wheels because I see that drink everywhere XD)

I love the photos! I got a DSLR a year ago? I don’t even remember haha. But I haven’t used it enough! It feels like I haven’t actually had it for that long. Love the rose photo too. It reminds me of when I photographed roses all the time.

I have never been called to jury duty, lucky me. It’s so funny that free wifi kept you entertained there though. 😀

Since you mentioned dessert hopping in your other post, I am planning to visit some nice dessert places more often! Maybe not all in one day though. 😉

I love hearing your fun adventures! Glad you’re enjoying summer and making the most out of it 😀

We had some academics try out VR earlier this week, it looks amazing!
