Sushi Time

I finished my Java programming midterm a few hours ago which means I’m finally on spring break! My plans for spring break is to replenish my energy to pull through the last 8 weeks of school. I’m doing well in most of my classes; I say most because my government class doesn’t start until after spring break and I don’t know how that class will be like.

Yesterday, my boyfriend and I went for some sushi. Sushi is one of my favorite foods so I really don’t mind having it twice this week (compared having pho weekly). Anyways, food picture time!

The last time I remembered going to this place, I got oysters. I was about to order oysters again until I looked at the front page of the menu and ended up ordering “baked mussels” instead. The texture was nice; I didn’t need to forcibly chew my way through the mussel and it was tasty (preferably with a drop or two of the lemon slice).

My boyfriend got himself a plate of monkey balls- which is basically mushrooms with tuna and stuff. I like how it’s packed with flavor but my diet doesn’t ~allow~ me to eat too many tempura stuff so I stick to having one piece.

As for my main dish, I got a tuna roll and a scallop roll. I noticed that the restaurant increased their content:rice ratio so hurray for improvement!

    Yay! I’m glad you’re on your spring break! I miss having actual breaks during my undergrad days since when those occurred during the summer, I’d also be on work break. Ah, those were the days.

    I can’t believe you’ll have 8 more weeks of classes after. 16 weeks is so long!

    I hope your government class treats you well!

    Ahhh even more sushi!! <3 Super love. Now I'm really excited because tomorrow I'm going to have a Japanese buffet for dinner with my boyfriend too 😀

    Nancyyy, your blog posts never cease to make me hungry every once in awhile! The sushi looks delicious… *licks lips* I’ve actually been craving some, but the sushi restaurants near my place are all wayy too overpriced! D:

    I’ve never had monkey balls but would LOVE to try some one day! Looks like an interesting blend of different flavors 😀

    Just last week I made a nice baked mussel dish for my family. Pretty easy to do at home. Definitely a favorite amongst my friends too. Even if you’re not a mussel fan (like myself), baked mussels are always good. Seems as though the restaurant didn’t over do the mayo so that’s good!

    Good for you for avoiding tempura-ized things. That monkey ball roll, while I’m sure is delicious, does look like a heart attack. Glad to see some simple rolls below. Their fish to rice ratio is pretty intense. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that much tuna in a tuna roll before haha.

    Ooh, I don’t often see mussels on the menu. Oyster appetizers seem to be more common, but those look good! haha, I think it’s funny that the dish is called monkey balls. The rolls look good too. That’s nice that there’s more filling than rice. I actually get annoyed when I get a roll with too much rice and not enough fish!

    you always seem to be eating and I’m getting jealous of your eatscapades! Yum yum even though I’m allergic to seafood, esp scallops, squid, octopus, crabs (JUST SAY EVERYTHING) except fish!

    I wish I was a student again so I can go on Spring Break. All of my friends who are still in uni get 2 weeks off, and I get to be stuck in a hot office with stinky men. Adult life sucks.

    The food looks deliciousssss. You’re gonna turn into sushi with the amount you eat of it, haha!

    Also, monkey balls. *giggles and runs away*

    I’m glad to hear that you’re doing well in your classes. Yay! Glad you’re on your spring break and you have a chance to recharge. It’s going to be something when school gets back on track on those 8 weeks. My school is ending quite soon. I have until May 5th when it ends for me.
