A Taste of Deliciousness
September 2, 2015

Happy September! Wow, we’re already on the 9th month of the year? Somehow, I always see this as a surprise even though I’m always complaining about how time is flying by slowly. Maybe I’m too caught up in the moment… Aside from time passing by at a mysterious pace, I have some food adventures to share (even though it’s not as fancy as EMC Seafood or Ootoro). Even then, I am enjoying the food that I’ve been eating recently.

I went to Fish King twice last week to satisfy my seafood cravings. Apparently they sell uni as a whole when a customer places a special order for a bunch, which is useful if you want to make your own uni bowl at home. I’m the only person in my family who likes sushi. Maybe I am adopted after all.

My boyfriend invited me to his house last week to eat some awesome tacos that his brother cooked up, except he wasn’t there because he’s still at his out-of-state internship. However, the tacos are still really delicious! His brother wants to open a taco shop and the tacos he makes are pretty promising! The meat are soft and juicy, yuuuuuum~

After a few months of being away from Korean BBQ, I drove out 38 miles each way to eat at Mr. BBQ. It’s a “premium all-you-can-abuse” place and the meat were delicious! Compared to the previous one I went to, which is the same price, I rather go to Mr. BBQ. I practically had 2 1/2 plates full of meat for myself and my favorite is probably the thinly sliced beef brisket or belly. I usually like to eat the bbq with Korean rice paper, but that’s just me. The pickled daikon radish slices are good too, but I usually have a few at a time if anything. They had a good variety of banchan, except I usually only eat the soy bean sprouts.

This is probably my 3rd or 4th time eating at this ramen shop. Compared to Ajisen Ramen, Naruto Ramen is a lot tastier! Or maybe that’s just me. Eating Korean BBQ overwhelmed my taste for meat so I asked the waitress to swap out the pork pieces for tofu. I liked the tofu alternative a whole lot better than the chicken or pork option.

Lastly, I finally went to the Japanese market that just reopened. The previous store was my favorite go-to store for sushi-grade produce, but it got closed down and taken over. Now, the store have more food and I was spazzing out over the premade sushi section. I picked out a sushi bowl filled with salmon, tuna, and yellowtail as well as a couple of ikura nigiri and a salmon onigiri. The store has a cool concept where you can make your own “sushi box” and each nigiri is wrapped individually and coated with a colored sticker for pricing. This place is amazing!!! Too bad it’s a 20-minute drive away from work.

until next time~

AAhh! Look at all that food! Is that tuna poke in the first photo? It looks really good.

I think that’d be cool if your boyfriend’s brother opened up a taco shop. It looks tasty, and I like that simple style where it’s just meat and onions 🙂

That’s so much meat at the Korean BBQ place, and so much fish in that sushi bowl! Those are making me so hungry right now. I also think it’s cute how they wrap the nigiri.

I’m glad you’ve been eating so much tasty food lately!

I forgot to mention, the first picture does have tuna poke :D. The shop called it “Hawaiian Tuna Ahi Poke”, except I haven’t been to Hawaii to confirm it yet. Hopefully it’s close enough!

I love tacos so much! I’ve never had one with large chunks of meat in like the one in the photo. I’ve always just ate them with minced beef, but this looks 100% better!!

DROOLING HERE. YUM! Your food adventures look amazing! That Korean BBQ, especially!!!! Did you go by yourself? Just wondering because while I’m fine eating out on my own, a Korean BBQ is not a place people would go there by themselves to have that unless it’s like a single-course meal like kimchi jjigae or something! But om-nom! Everything looks so good!

And that tofu ramen — different! I’ve yet to see a tofu ramen, and that sounds so good! I love tofu, so I’d definitely liked to have tried that! ^^

Also, that taco by your bf’s brother? That looks super good! I would totally like to try it!

Thanks for sharing your delicious photos! Now I am really hungry!!!

I went to KBBQ with my friend :P. I would never go alone at a KBBQ place, especially since I have no motivation to eat anything, haha.

The amount of times I’ve asked friends and colleagues, “Where has the year gone?” is ridiculous.

You’re going to turn into sushi one day, Nance. I’m betting you. When (I mean WHEN) I come to visit you, you have to show me ALL the best places!

    Tacos are amazing!

I LOVE KOREAN BBQ SO MUCH, I CRY WHEN I TALK ABOUT IT. LOOK AT THE DELICIOUS PICTURES. LIKE OMG, NANCY. OMG.

I got a nosebleed reading this post. Everything looks so yummy

    The sushi bowl looks delicious!

Also, I love tofu and don’t eat pork, so you can see how much I appreciated that decision haha. 😉

I haven’t had tacos in so long. Your post really makes me want some! Also, I’m sorry your boyfriend wasn’t there to enjoy them with you. 🙁

I’ve never been to a Korean BBQ place but it looks like fun (I hear you get all smoky though) and tasty!

I hope your boyfriends brother has some success with his taco shop idea 🙂

My clothes, hair, and soul smells like Korean BBQ at the end! So if you go, don’t be dressed in a super fancy dress or else it might happen to you too XD. But it’s all worth it. KBBQ = ♥

I love tacos, and that one looks really delicious! If he’s super good at it he can even open his own taco place 😉

I love your sushi box! There’s so many good stuff in one place, ahhh~

I’m always jelly of the food you manage to find and the yummness it has, but regardless, it looks like you enjoyed the meal and that matters most of all.

I can’t believe that we are already on the 9th month, either. How time flies by!
