Thanksgiving
November 30, 2013

Happy ~late~ Thanksgiving to those who celebrated the holiday! I spent the holiday eating turkey with pita bread along with studying for c++ and the rest of my classes. I have to admit, the concept of c++ is easy to comprehend but applying it to different situations is difficult. I definitely need more practice even though the exam is on this upcoming Wednesday. This means I have 3 exams and 1 quiz on Wednesday- a week before finals start. How jubilant..

Aside from Thanksgiving, there was Black Friday.. Except Black Friday started at 8 PM for many stores on Thursday evening. It makes sense since Thanksgiving is so late in the year and these stores have to sell as much as they can. When I went to the mall, there was a line wrapped around the block at Target and a crowd of people waiting outside of the mall and retail stores. I participated in this whole “Black Friday madness” by lining up at the Windsor Store before opening and received a $20 gift card. I went ahead and bought this bag and ended up paying $13 for it. My parents came into the store and received 2 $20 gift cards as well and ended up giving them to me. I’m planning to buy another bag when Monday hits. Other than that, I didn’t buy anything else even though I was tempted by sales. At least I benefited by saving my money for something I might need later on.

Throughout the week, school dominated my schedule regardless of whether I’m at school or at home. I usually spend my days studying for Chemistry or History… But mostly Chemistry because my instructor reads off of poorly created PowerPoint slide and expects us to figure everything out from the textbook. Despite that, I’m probably going to pull off a B even though I’m hoping for an A. ~___~. I’m worried about my GPA dropping because I really need to transfer.

Speaking of transferring, I finally submitted the last four applications. Ironically, it is the same school I applied to 2 years ago. I’m limited considering how I’m trying to get into the IT/networking field. Hopefully, everything will work out this time around.

Last story for the week: on Monday night, my high school band director texted me asking if I could record him conducting the band the following morning for his doctorates application. Thankfully, I didn’t have class the following morning so I went ahead and did it. It turned out to be good so hopefully, my band director will be on his way in getting a doctorate.

Hope you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving and good luck with your exams and studying for them! Haha, I thought it was so weird that stores opened their doors so early for Black Friday this year. I’ve never really been Black Friday shopping…I went to WalMart at 12am last year but I only bought a few movies. I’ve never really been one to stand in a line for something specific.

My exams are coming up too. The last 3 weeks of school before holiday break are the worst because they try to cram you with so much crap and all you want to do is just be done for the semester. At least it’s only a few more weeks! …Or probably less for you since you’re in college.

I’m sorry that you had to study on the actual day of Thanksgiving! That must suck.

Good luck on your transfer applications! I’m sure that you are a much stronger applicant this time around.

That’s okay, I participated in Black Friday too, at Walmart XD I wish you luck on your transfer.

I hope you had a good Thanksgiving! That’s too bad you had to study during it and throughout the week though. I celebrated with turkey as well 🙂

I don’t have the patience to go in-store for Black Friday deals, haha. I just take a look at what’s online. Fortunately, a lot of online stores post Black Friday sales all week, so it gives me time to look around too. I ended up getting parts to build a new computer. The bag you got is very cute!

Good luck with your exams and with the applications!

I find that most people have a very binary opinion of C++. Either you love it or you hate it. Most of my friends hate it (they prefer Python and “looser” languages). I’m such a sucker C and its close derivatives though (C++, Java). Good luck on your exams!

Aaaaaand good luck with your transfer too! I know a few people who managed to successfully pull it off, even with some career restrictions, so I’m sure you’ll be fine 🙂

    The bag is super cute!

The bag that you got is super cute. 🙂 Sadly, there aren’t any Windsor stores near me. 🙁 I hope that you had a good Thanksgiving.

Happy Late thanksgiving to you too!
I went black friday shopping too and got a tablet! It’s pretty awesome. I also bought a deep fryer …and I’ve made onion rings and fried chicken so far..but I want to make some funnel cake tomorrow.

Good luck on on all of your exams and such. You’re almost done! I hope you get accepted into this school you are transferring into. 🙂

Wish I could blog right now but I can’t even access my website At the moment SMH! 🙁

Black Friday wasn’t all that this year. I actually shopped online on Black Friday. Surprisingly enough, the discounts online were just like if I were to be in the store. 80% off? c’mon now! haha

I hope you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving despite having to study for your classes – but welcome to the real world! I had an okay Thanksgiving. It was a lot more enjoyable this year than last.

Anyway, I’ll hopefully be heading to college in the next semester (not this semester – but the next). I do have a registration date – but I do believe my Grant went down to $3 grand. Ah well – live and learn.

I’m really wanting to go to school and start – but my boyfriend is wanting to wait until the new year until he isn’t claimed anymore. :/ . But yeah. We both want to transfer to San Diego state once we’re all done with the two years.
