The Amazing Spider-Man 2!
May 4, 2014

Happy May, everyone! We’re five months into the year already? On the bright side, there’s a month left of school!

The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Worry not, there will be no specific movie spoilers in this post. My boyfriend and I went to watch The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (movie) yesterday. I prefer this series over the 2002-2007 series because I personally feel Garfield is more fitting as Spider-Man than Maguire. There were some ~emotional~ scenes in the movie but that’s what makes the movie awesome. Anyways, it was a good movie. It’s nice to see the female “romantic interest” of the hero (Gwen in this case) making a real effort to help the hero (unlike Carly from Transformers 3). I heard the sequel will come out in 2016! Meanwhile, The Avengers 2 is coming out next year :P. If you’re wondering: yes, you should go watch the movie!

Shaved Ice!

While being in Orange County today, I bought shaved ice cream for my dad and myself. I got us coconut flavored ice cream with mochi (right)/rainbow jelly (left). It was his first time trying out shaved ice cream and he really liked it. The shaved ice cream melts in your mouth and it’s perfect for a warm and sunny day! Just make sure you eat it fast or it’ll melt.

This would probably be the best shaved ice cream place I have tried out so far. Unfortunately, it’s around 40 miles from where I live and I never really go to this area anymore :(. One of my goals is to find a conveniently located shaved ice cream place that I can visit almost regularly. This will probably have to wait since Glendale doesn’t have any shaved ice cream places *-*.

Hey, How’s School Coming along?

School is fine, there are 4½ weeks left before finals week! I’m doing okay in all of my classes so far. I don’t really have anything special to say about school since it’s the same routine every day. Wake up, go to class, take notes, try not to fall asleep, then go home during the early afternoon. On the other hand, I’m happy with the progress of the cyber security club. Even though I won’t be around when the club officially launches, it’ll be nice to know that the school finally has a club for computer people.

Have a great week and month!

I didn’t like the first Spider-Man trilogies. Wait, let me rephrase. I hated the first trilogy, except for two things: WILLEM DAFOE and JAMES FRANCO. In fact, I was a huge Harry Osborn/James Franco fan, so when they killed him off in the third film, I was PISSED. Because by then, I’d only watched the 2nd and the 3rd film because of James Franco. And I agree with you that Maguire wasn’t great as Peter Parker, and don’t get me started on Kirsten Dunst and her role as Mary whatever.

That shaved ice looks so good! When I think of shaved ice, I think of sno cones, but I can see from your photos that they are not really the same thing. In fact, shaved ice look so much more delicious than sno cones!

Good luck with the remainder of your semester! That 4.5 weeks will zoom by! 🙂

I have fond memories of the first trilogy. The soundtrack for the old Spider-Man 2 was flawless! It was my high school angst jam. And of course, I love the third one for the lolz. I knew how bad it was, but I couldn’t help but be fond of it in an “aww you tried” kind of way.

I haven’t seen the new one yet, but I’m really looking forward to it! I enjoyed the reboot a lot even though I’m still pressed that Spiderman isn’t part of the Avengers movies. T_T

I’m off and on about the new reboot with Andrew Garfield. Don’t know if I like it or not.

I really like Maguire and his role in the old Spider-Man movies, but they really killed it with the third movie(in a bad way, of course). It kind of died right there. I wanted them to do Venom right instead of what they did to him.

I’m actually wanting to see The Amazing Spider-Man 2, looks amazing and so far, I keep hearing that it is emotional in all the right places. I can’t wait to see it!

I’ve never had shaved ice, but it certainly looks yummy. What do you think of the Guardians of the Galaxy trailer? Are you interested that too? I want to see Avengers 2. The first one was brilliant!

I’ve been looking forward to Spider-Man 2! I can’t wait to see it XD I also feel like Garfield fits much better than Maguire. I actually thought Maguire looked too old, and his character was written to be a bit… too awkward.

Yum, shaved ice sounds great for the warm weather lately. It’s already starting to feel like summer in Texas. I love rainbow jelly, so that looks good 🙂

I’m glad school is going well!

I totally literally screamed when I saw the title of this post. I’m still having my spiderman withdrawal syndrome (mostly um gwen-peter uh…) sigh. (psst idislikemaryjane)

like you, i prefer TASM over the old “original” spiderman movies. on the net, people have been constantly arguing who’s the better peter – andrew or tobey. to be honest, it’s kind of ridiculous. first because both are good actors and the two spiderman were set in different timeline. andrew portrayed peter that way in a sense that he’s teenager, he’s still studying therefore we see the cocky personality and whatnot. meanwhile, with tobey, the timeline was directly set when he was a working man. there’s that borderline there. it annoys me how the argument continues like raging fire (and how people diss andrew and choose tobey and vice versa).

i don’t get why people can’t embrace the best of both world. i mean come on– admit it, back then, there was no reboot whatsoever and i bet at some point, we all thought “hey tobey’s good as peter parker” so yeah…relative argument, really.

but of course, preferences are completely absolutely cool. I myself love andrew’s portrayal more since he’s all sarcastic and fun haha.

gwen was really cool TT-TT i love her so much…she’s witty and smart and ughhh *flaps arms everywhere* (honestly speaking, it’s also because the old spidey movies had an annoying redhead creature called mary jane so… -__- sorry kirsten dunst but your MJ was annoying)

i’m surprise you didn’t mention anything about dane dehaan / harry osborn haha everyone around me is spazzing senseless over dane/harry and i’m like “haha guys i knew him way before he was in this major blockbuster franchise” (just like how everyone flailed over sebastian stan after captain america -__- pfft) i think i’d be even more pissed if people start arguing over who’s the better harry osborn; james franco or dane dehaan..i’d probably go ballistic because i love both.

james franco was the only reason i hanged onto the old spidey franchise, to be honest haha

    ANYWAY:

you just mentioned carly and i’m pissed all over again haha

darn, carly was annoying and helpless and she was running around in heels…i’m surprise she didn’t break her ankle or anything. i don’t know. i’m not a hugggge fan on megan fox but i thought she was better than carly 🙁

I used to love shaved ice when i was a kid. the one sold here used red beans and sweet condensed milk though instead of other toppings.

have a great week and month to you too! 🙂

(for some reason, i really like reading your entries; they’re always so happy and full of energy haha)

I haven’t seen any of the Spider-Man movies. I tend to watch comedies/chick flicks when I actually do watch a movie. I don’t go to the movies much either. I usually will watch them on HBO onDemand or when they have them on TV. I used to see kiddie movies a lot with my daughter but now we rarely ever go because she always goes with her cousin or friend so I don’t get to see them, lol.

  7. Czarina Mae ☆ May 6, 2014 at 7:25 pm

Now I really feel like watching The Amazing Spider-Man 2 all over again! Haha. I remember how I used to say that Maguire will always be Spider-Man for me, but the sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man really got me and now I just want Emma and Andrew to be together forever in all the upcoming Spider-Man movies! Sadly though…. 🙁 haha!

And oooh. Shaved ice cream sounds just about nice right now in this weather! There’s a shop nearby my house that sells it and my all time favourite is Mango 🙂 I’d really like to try the mochi though!

I don’t like boring school routines too but lucky for you you only have 4 more weeks or so of it left!

I really enjoyed the first of the Amazing Spider-Man films but I haven’t seen the second yet, mainly because my boyfriend went with his friends instead *cries!*.

I have to agree with you about Andrew Garfield being the better Spider-Man. I’m glad to hear that he’s still going a good job in the sequel. 🙂

I’ve not heard of shaved ice cream before, but it looks really refreshing.

    Hi Nancy!

I’m glad I visited your blog cuz I need reviews abt the new Spiderman movie. I’m gonna watch it on this saturday. I have not watched the first movie of these new series. But now after reading so much praise abt it everywhere (Though I don’t trust newspaper reviews), I guess the movie is worth a watch.

I’ve not heard of shaved ice cream, but I have heard n eaten shaved ice… which is known as “gola”in India. I guess your shaved ice cream would be as good as a gola, if not better!

    Take care, Nancy.

  10. Jea ☆ May 7, 2014 at 10:53 am

The Amazing Spider Man 2! Was it good? I’m out of town and there are no movie theaters around. 🙁 ~spoiler~
Shaved ice cream looks good. Reminds me of Dippin’ Dots.. the fact that it melts in your mouth. Yum.

You’re school’s cool for having a club for the technogeeks. We don’t. 🙁 I think I’m going to start one next year though… but only if the school principal allows it. -.-

  11. AnneMarie ☆ May 7, 2014 at 11:37 pm

I’ve only watched snippets of the new Spider Man. I do love the new version (I wasn’t totally into Toby’s performance…). But unfortunately, when I did watch the new Spider Man, I was only half paying attention.

But so many people have told me great things!

That shaved ice looks delicious by the way.

  12. Diane ☆ May 8, 2014 at 10:36 am

Man, I really want to see The Amazing Spider-Man 2. I also think that Garfield is better suited to play Spider-Man. He seems to add more personality and quirkiness to the role than Toby.

    Good luck with finals!

  13. Penda ☆ May 9, 2014 at 9:32 am

I liked Maguire before but still think Garfield makes a better Peter. Gosh, I could go on and on and on about him and Stone! >_< Cutest couple ever! I haven't seen the movie yet, been so busy with school lately plus I don't wanna go solo (unlike you, I have no boyfie). My friend already spoiled (spoilt?) me the ending and if what she says is true, then I'm thinking twice about watching it.
