The First Week of Summer
June 18, 2014

My first week of summer vacation has been decent so far. It’s the perfect opportunity for me to go back to few old hobbies.

In the Mood for Crafting

My boyfriend took me to Michaels last week to buy some craft supplies. I have been wanting to make a scrapbook for the longest but never had time to fully carry it to the end. I bought a can of flowers, mini chevron-patterned binder, and a couple of scrapbook paper sets. I’m using the plain set as the pages for the binder and the smaller patterned ones as decoration. A few pages have been made so far, such as the front page (with my name and a slot for a picture) and some regular pages to insert pictures to. My favorite one so far is the Disney-themed page where there are Mickey Mouse cutouts (modeled after the Disney pins I have :6).

Back to Gaming

I’m finally playing games again! The last time I legitimately finished through any game was Assassin’s Creed 3 almost 2 years ago. I sampled Tera during the Winter but didn’t really keep up with it because of school. Anyways, I bought Need For Speed: Most Wanted because it had all of the cars I wanted to drive (Camaro + Mustang + Viper + Corvette = ♥) and it was on sale. At first, I had trouble drifting in curves but after a few hours of game play, drifting became my in-game best friend. So far, I maxed out the mods for all of the American Muscle/Sports that was mentioned a few sentences ago. After 3 days of on and off playing, I defeated all of the cars in the most wanted list (the theme of the game). It’s a really fun game if you’re into American/European cars or just cars in general. I don’t really have a taste for exotic cars but if I want to extend my game play, I could go ahead and max out the mods for them too. But for now, I’ll give the game a rest and go back to it from time to time. The next game on queue would be Battlefield 3.

School Things

My grades for the semester is finally up! I got a B for Java and an A for calculus, microeconomics, and political science. I’m ecstatic about my calculus and economics grade because I needed an A for the final to ace the class and it happened ☺. I ended up getting a 98% on the final and an 89% on the test retake (taken after the final) for econ. My GPA for the semester is a 3.75 (meeting my goal) and my cumulative GPA is a 3.7.

On Tuesday, the honor society had their annual banquet. I sat with a couple of accounting majors from my calculus class and ate dinner before the awards. Most of the food we had were Middle Eastern-based and it was delicious. I don’t really have a presentable picture but I had some salad, byorek (puff pastry with meat inside), lahmajoun (Armenian pizza; some sort of pita bread with meat as the topping), turkey wrap slices, and more pastries. As for the awards, the adviser was handing out scholarships to members and I was one of the recipients ☺.

    I feel you when you said you never had time to carry it till the end. That’s my story with my planner/scratch notebook I currently use for college/uni reviews. :/

    Those Disney-themed cutouts are cute, by the way.

    Congrats on your achievements in school! Those hard days in school paid off. Keep it up, girl! 😉

    Glad to know you’re having a great summer!

    Whoo hoo for the good grades! 3.75 is a great GPA! I graduated with a 3.85 and a 3.96 for my undergrad and grad studies 🙂

    And I heartily approve of your gaming! I am not really into the games you play, but gaming is gaming — muhahaha! I have Assassin’s Creed something when I bought my Vita, because it came with the bundle, but I haven’t played it and I don’t think I ever will . . . I should just give that game away XD;

    And that’s good you’re doing craftsy stuff! I am not big on crafts — mostly because I don’t have the patience for it — but when I do it, it turns out okay. Not great, but it’s okay XD;

    Anyway, glad you’re enjoying your summer break! I’m jealous! I wish I had a break! ^^

    I never really understood scrap booking. I guess you just stick there you like in there?

    I find it difficult to keep going with console/solo games. But I can play an MMO for ages and ages. I guess I just love the social interactive I get from an MMO.

    *Whistles* Nicely done! I’m sure meeting your GPA goal for this semester provided a good closure for the year. You’ve worked hard, and certainly deserved the benefits. 🙂 That means you should rest up, enjoy arts/crafts and game, as you have been.

    That reminds me, I really should get into crafts while workload is still light. I just love looking at what others create! I look at them and go “Man, I would love to create that!” and end up not even starting. xD I guess scrapbooks [and other creative products] are things I like to look at in admiration without actually attempting them. 😛 You’re off to a good start with your project. I’m sure it’ll turn out great.

    Scrapbooking is such a great thing to do. I recently made my mum one for her birthday and filled it with pictures from all the holidays we had been on since 2008.

    I got a free copy of Battlefield 3 from Origin for no apparent reason. It’s really not the usual type of game I play but perhaps I should give it ago.

    Congrats on your grades! 😀

    I’m planning on redoing my scrapbook. I did it awhile back and rushed through it. Now, I wanna take the time to do it again. I want a arts n craft project to do in my free time, before school starts.

    Don’t you worry, I’m gaming away so far, and it’s great! It won’t last though. School is coming for me in late August.

    Middle Eastern food is delicious~

    Congrats on your grades and your GPA.

    I think that’s great that you’re making a scrapbook! It’s something I’ve thought about for a while too, but I’m always worried I won’t keep up with it. We had to do one in high school, and I didn’t keep up with it back then either, haha. The supplies you got are so cute and colorful!

    I haven’t played a Need for Speed game in a long time. I remember them being fun, but realistic racing games aren’t my thing I guess 🙂

    Congrats on your grades! That’s awesome that you met your GPA goal!
