Transformers 4
August 23, 2014

Work was pretty good this week. We completed the biggest part of the inventory project so I returned to my IT work. I finally got the chance to go to Target to stock up on snacks since the vending machine can be quite expensive in the long run. I got myself some fruit by the foot, lucky charms, and rice krispies treats ☺.

After bringing an iMac and MacBook Pro back to life a few weeks ago, there were other problems that followed. I had to put the project aside and work on other higher priority tasks… Until this week. The MacBook Pro had a hard drive problem. Luckily the previous IT person left behind a bootable Snow Leopard OS X USB so I downloaded Mavericks on to the flash drive as well and installed the operating system on the main hard drive (after wiping it out). As for the iMac, there was an iCloud pin lock that no one knew the code to. A different hard drive, additional memory, PRAM reset, and verbose mode later the whole operating system was able to boot up.

I finally watched Transformers 4 last night! I think the human interaction is much better than the previous movies (the romance is less focused here). I still find it funny how the Autobots are GM cars and Decepticons are European imports (except for Drift since he was originally a Decepticon along with a couple of things I might have missed). At first, I thought I would hate the movie because of the bad Camaro concept design Bumblebee had but the storyline and everything else made up for it.

Moving on to the food adventures of the week, I had “outside” food three times this week. On Tuesday, I had short ribs with chicken from Ono Hawaiian BBQ (first timer). Now I know where to find Korean BBQ ribs on the go :P. Then comes Thursday, it was our 25th-month celebration so my boyfriend and I had an afternoon meal at Panera Bread again. We both got the Summer Corn Chowder soup this time except his came in a bread bowl. Lastly, a few coworkers and I bought lunch from In-N-Out. I had a 2×2 animal style – protein style out of curiosity because I usually order it one way or the other. Safe to say, I have no regrets ☺.

Here are some random noteworthy things to mention about:

  • New layout! I think I’m set with what I want in the theme for now. The significant changes include breaking posts into “read more” bits, adding “related posts” on every post, and fixing the commenting code so I can close old posts to prevent spambots but display existing comments. I might tweak things around here and there from time to time.
  • My scrapbook is 50% complete.
  • Move-in is exactly in a month from this post’s date. I’m pushing major preparations off for another 2 weeks unless a sale for anything I need pops up.

I love the new layout, Nancy! The minimalism you’ve maintained is great. I like how you used images for the related post, and I especially like how you put multiple blog entries on your main page now. That makes it easier for people like me to see what you’ve blogged about recently instead of constantly clicking the next page button ^^

Fruit Loops . . . reading about it is making me want some! And Lucky Charms snack? I’m not sure if I’ve seen those here yet!

Anyway, are you going to share bits of your scrapbook when you’re done? I’d like to see it.

You take care and have another great week!

Thank youuu ♥. I used to be against the idea of having all of these features on my blog but after trying it out, it’s not bad at all!

I haven’t had fruit loops in years ;o. The lucky charms snack is like a rice krispy bar but in a stick with some hard milk/marshmallow on the bottom layer. And of course I would share some parts of my scrapbook once I finish ^__^

Ooh, I love the new layout 🙂 It’s so pretty! Glad to hear that you enjoyed Transformers 4, I just couldn’t get into it, but I did enjoy the human interactions more this time.

I liked Transformers 4 too!! Haha I am so envious of how pretty the girl is. The food sounds yummy 😉

Love the new layout. I love how it’s still kind of the same, but still different at the same time. Simple, I love it 🙂

I haven’t seen Transformers 4 yet. When I heard there was going to be a fourth, I wasn’t sure. I think I’ll just wait for it to come out on DVD.

You didn’t torture me with food pics this time. Also, I ate before I read this blog post. I came prepared! Lol.

I’ve yet to watch Transformers 4, but I have a feeling I’m going to end up noticing all the things you pointed out! 😛

I like the new layout! Looks so nice and smooth ^_^ I was doing the same thing with mine, especially with the closing old posts because the spambots are relentless.

Your move-in date is so going to sneak up on you! It’ll be a month before you know it 🙂 I love move-in days. Moving in is so exciting if you’re already packed and ready to go!

Good luck with the MBP and the iMac when you get around to it! I wish I understood all that wonderful stuff (because I am interested in it) so I can do what you do.

PS, if you’re planning to stock up on snacks, try wholesale like Costco or Sam’s Club! I’ve saved a lot more money buying my large quantity snacks at Costco than I did at Target. 🙂

Simple layouts are really nice for blogs 🙂 Makes it easier to read! I also like the fonts you chose.

I’m glad you had a good work week! Sounds like you got a lot done! I haven’t seen Transformers 4, but I kind of lost interest in the movie series after the second one. I really didn’t like Transformers 2 🙁

Hawaiian BBQ is so good! I always seek it out when I’m in Hawaii. Good luck with your move-in!

Haven’t seen Transformers 3 or 4 … or 2..maybe, I don’t remember. I saw the first one & thought, “..this movie…it is the suck.” I grew up watching Transformers so I was excited for it, but meh, most people don’t like Michael Bay & that would include myself (the acting, the storyline, the same friggin camera maneuvers every single goddamn time to make things dramatic). EXPLOSIONS YAY = a good chunk of his movies. -_- However, I still totally enjoy watching his movies because EXPLOSIONS YAY, but doesn’t mean I think they’re good hahaha.

In T4, they had Chinese sponsors since their cars will soon be imported to America. So, not all of the villains were European made cars (like you said)! Stinger was a Pagani Huayra. & not all the Autobots were American cars! Drift transforms into a Bugatti Veyron Grand Vitesse (like you said), which isn’t actually a good drifting car hahaha, but it’s a house on wheels. Every time I think of Bugattis, I think of that time when Conan had one featured on his show to make NBC piss millions of dollars for giving his spot back to Leno. Team COCO alll day way, every day! But anyway, technically not all of the Decepticons were European cars! Many of them were American & some were Japanese. Transformers is kind of like this huge explosion movie with a throwback to our childhood based off the Japanese cartoon, but with lots of car sponsors. Michael Bay probably wanted to feature the most beautiful cars to make it like Fast & the Furious + robots + EXPLOSIONS, DID I MENTION EXPLOSIONS???? SooooOooOOo I don’t think it was kind of like a knock on Europeans or European imports. I do like that Transformers are trying to change the popular perception of American Muscle cars equating to redneck douchebags though. Although I’m not a fan of American cars at all, I think supporting the industry is good for our country. They’re much more impressive now than they were a decade ago!

I’m so glad you added more posts to be displayed on your homepage! Now I can see how many posts I’ve missed or already read in one looksie.

Not sure if you like onions or spicy things, but I always like getting animal style with both types of onions & chopped chilies. 😀 You can also get grilled whole onions too instead of the chopped ones!

Anything to do with Sam/his people in Transformers sucks. I suppose it’s the rest of the robot actions that fills in the gap. I like Transformers… And I love cars. That put together and it equates to some awesome mesh. Buuuuuut explosions, I didn’t really pay too much attention to it. Now that you mention it, T4 brings me back to watching Need for Speed except the cars are ~robots in disguise~. I just remembered that Barricade (decepticon) transforms into a police Mustang! I wonder if there’s any hidden message there since I mostly see Chevy/GMC cars and their logos err’whare… American muscle cars are far from being driven by redneck douchebags (or just redneck) — or maybe it’s because I live in CA and I love AMC, haha. I would’ve thought they relate more with heavily lifted F150’s and Silverado’s X’D.
