Korean BBQ!

I went to eat Korean BBQ after finishing my calculus final last week. My classmate treated for my meal while I was the ‘designated driver’. I drove through a couple of freeways I haven’t driven on before, which turned out better than I expected. We went for the “all you can eat” option where the package included beef brisket, bulgogi, marinated chicken, pork belly, soybean paste stew, and a bunch of salad bar items. This was my second time eating Korean BBQ in general and it was a delicious meal ☺. My favorites out of the variety would be the brisket and bulgogi.

Adventures in Between

The day after my calculus final, I bought some baked goodies from Porto’s Bakery for my band director and two of my ‘band kids’. I hung around for a while and talked to a couple of my old teachers. Then last Friday, my boyfriend and I went to an event and tried out food from food trucks. I usually have higher expectations from food trucks so I wanted to pick something that wouldn’t disappoint me. I ended up buying a ~mac + fries + bacon~ plate from the BACON MANia food truck and I liked it for the most part ☺. The only thing that bugged me a bit was the spiciness *o*.

The Finish Line

I finished my last final on Monday! My boyfriend took me to a seafood place nearby and bought me some oysters ☺. I have been wanting oysters lately sooo major kudos to him for satisfying my craving. If I had a choice between raw oysters or cooked oysters, I’d always go for raw oysters.

Birthday

I turned 20 today ☺. I was busy for half of the day with dentist/braces stuff, which I didn’t mind since I had to delay the appointment by a couple of weeks due to finals and I couldn’t miss anymore Saturday classes. I didn’t feel like having any sort of ~special thing~ because I’m still burnt out from the semester (it happens). I suppose I’ll save it ’til next year :P. I’m satisfied with eating pho and shaved ice cream {coconut snow + jelly + condensed milk = win} with my dad. And yesterday, my boyfriend and I watched X-Men: Days of Future Past. This movie kept it more to the ‘action-packed’ side than the ‘romantic’ side so bonus points to that. The end of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 had a scene from this movie so if anyone stuck around to watch that, the World War 2 scene would’ve been a bit familiar. I had trouble knowing what side Mystique was on. My boyfriend gave me a Coach gift card and his sister gave me some goodies from Hollister ☺.

PS. Happy birthday to Alice too! We share the same birthday~

Happy Birthday to you! The Korean BBQ looks great! I love the brisket and the bulgogi, too. Yum!

The pho and the shaved ice also looks delicious. I really want to try shaved ice now. It looks way better than sno-cones, haha! 🙂

Anyway, enjoy those gifts you got! And I totally understand being burnt out! I’ve had to bust my arse with work on some of my birthdays, so I enjoyed a low-key celebration of a sort, rather than doing a big shebang!

    Again, happy birthday! <3

Happy birthday Nancy! Sounds like you had a pretty good week 😀 That dessert looks delicious. I know how you feel about not feeling like doing anything special – I was like that last year for my birthday, because I was just far too busy with work and studying to really organise anything. I was thinking of having a party this year too, but again, I was too busy. There are many more years to have a blast! 🙂

I haven’t seen any of the X-Men movies, I don’t watch many movies but I did see The Lego Movie and The Fault in Our Stars. The closest I’ve been to X-Men is one of my friends doing Wolverine at a costume party, haha.

Happy belated birthday! 😀 I hope you had a lovely day. 🙂

My mouth is watering looking at those photos. 😛 Living with a vegetarian makes me crave meat so badly. Also, I would love to try oysters. I’m a big lover of seafood but I’ve never had the opportunity to try them.

Happy (belated) Birthday! Celebrating with pho and shaved ice cream sounds good 🙂

Yum, I love Korean BBQ. My favorite is always the beef bulgogi. I don’t think I’ve seen mac, fries, and bacon all together before. Sounds like 3 great things in 1 though, haha. I would also choose raw oysters over cooked!

I really liked the new X-men movie. I actually thought it was odd that Spider-man 2 had a scene from it. I heard that they had a credits scene planned but then took it out for some reason =/

Happy belated birthday, and I love Korean BBQ. It looks amazing.

Glad you got great gifts and yeah, X-men: Days of Future Past was great.

Wasn’t Amazing Spider Man 2 just sad at the end? It made my husband and me cry. I really liked it for dramatic purposes, thought it wouldn’t be, but it was. 🙁

You bet, I’ll bounce over to Alice’s page and say Happy birthday too! ^.^ Keep having a great one.

Isn’t the dentist and going to them fun? Found out that I didn’t quite have gum disease (thank goodness) but rather gingivitis. Something preventable and reversible. Now, I’m blabbering, talk to you later, girl! Happy belated birthday again!

Happy [belated] Birthday to you and Alice! Looks like you had a wonderful time unwinding from your long semester. You certainly deserved all the great food.

I watched X-men and will concede that it’s better than other action movies that I watched. There was a bit more plot and character development than other ones. Though I’m sure I won’t be watching another movie at a theatre anytime soon, but that’s okay.

Seems like you got some nice gifts! Glad you enjoyed your birthday. 😀
