This Week’s Roundup VII
January 17, 2017

weekly roundup
I never knew how much of a positive impact a vacation can be. I felt pretty refreshed when I went back to work and was pretty productive with my tasks since then. I’m currently working on some in-house projects and assisting with fieldwork. So when is my next vacation taking place 😂?

  • Over the holiday, I received a bunch of cards from some fellow bloggers ❤️️. Thank you, ChynnaPauline, Joy, Kya, CatBecca, and Tara! I enjoyed reading and admiring every one of them 😄~
  • I finally went back to the gym and getting my workout on 🤸‍♀️.
  • Major shout out to Tara for sending me some neat skin care products! She sent me a bottle of Aloe BHA Skin Toner, Panda’s Dream White Sleeping Pack, and Snail Bee High Content Essence. I enjoyed using every one of them! I’ll admit that I was a bit skeptical about the Snail Bee product at first but it actually improved my skin! (Don’t let the bee venom scare you)
  • Another shoutout to Chynna for sending me a cute cat face cup, meeeow 😼~
  • My boyfriend and I are back to the usual Disneyland Saturday grind 🏰.
  • At work, I’m learning how to perform IT audits to ~be more valuable to the firm~. Cybersecurity is still my top priority, though 👩🏻‍💻!
  • I cheated on Coach and bought a Fossil bag for my work stuff. So much for brand and color consistency 😜! I love how the bag can carry enough stuff without feeling bulky.
  • A bit late, but finally got SSL enabled on this site! (See the https/lock on the address bar). Hurray for an encrypted connection! Try to sniff my password now 😏.
  • Feeling the good vibes whenever I walk into Whole Foods market for lunch 🌿.
  • Boyfriend and I tried out some Mickey Beignets last Saturday. This glorified powdered donut is delicious 🍩.
  • Still sorting through vacation pictures 📷.
  • Decided to challenge myself to do my own taxes this year.

I love the bag! I can totally see why you ditched Coach in favor of it. Those skin products are really nice!

I have no idea what. SSL is. 😳 I guess I’ll probably learn more about it in my security class this semester. But I’d love to learn how to handle site security.

Those are so good amount of cards! I love receiving holiday cards from friends ^_^ Thank you for yours <3 I still am impressed with your amazing handwriting 😀

I'm so glad you like those skincare products! Good on you for giving them a chance despite being sceptical with the snail and bee goos. I admit that I felt the same way before using them, and now I love them! These are fabulous in that they improve our skin so much!

Yay for the Disney grind. Did you guys renew your pass? I was wondering about that 🙂 It's good you guys have that tradition. Definitely something to look forward each week.

Woot for the new bag. Having more colours and options are good. Nothing wrong with diversifying to other brands ^_^

Good on you for learning new things at work. Cybersecurity is definitely a good field for you to involve yourself in. Kudos to you (and me!) for HTTPSing our sites!

Hey, nice bag 😉 😉 😉 Now that you got a Fossil bag, should I get a Coach one? Hahaha I love Fossil though, and their bigger bags tend to hold a lot! I was thinking of getting the same tote as you but I wanted a smaller style since I already have the big satchel. It’s big but not as big as the tote. I’d buy another bag but I know I would use it and forget about my current bags. 😦 I’ve forgotten about my black Fossil bag now that I am using my brown one haha!

I’ve done my taxes myself every year. They say getting an accountant can help you get more tax back but I haven’t tried it yet. Cos you gotta pay the accountant too… 😆

Keep going to the gym! 😄

I should probably try and get SSL on my site hehehe.

Awh, the cards & skincare products are soooo cute!~

I’m jealous that you live so close to Disneyland omg. I’m actually planning a trip for over the summer if we ever get the chance to meet up!

Congrats on getting the website SSL enabled! That’s so neat!

  5. Rezina ☆ January 20, 2017 at 2:08 pm

That’s so cool you guys go to Disneyland often! I haven’t gone even once yet, so I’m super jealous! haha

The fossil bag looks really nice!

And I’ll be doing my own taxes too! There’s a website that a friend of mine uses and my sister uses (starting last year) that I can’t remember the name of… But supposedly it makes filling taxes out really easy! If I think of it, I’ll let you know.

Congrats on getting your site SSL enabled! I was looking into it at some point last year but never got around to it being done, haha.

Glad that you had a nice time. 😀 The photographs look so beautiful! I love winter and scenery with snow makes me so happy to look at. 😀

SSL is always a good idea. It’s becoming more popular for a lot of websites to have them now, not just shops/business. 😀

I always love going out for a walk to the Peak District (it’s a huge park in Sheffield that has awesome views – sorta like your trip but less awesome :P) it always is refreshing to get away from the city sometimes and ‘reconnect’ with the real world.

OOOO I spot my card! Haha, I too received some amazing Xmas cards, it’s so nice to see everyone’s writing rather than them typing on blogs (although thats still awesome :P)

Such a CUTE BAG GIRL! Every time I see your bags I low key open a new tab and look for one haha oops.

All those Christmas cards are so pretty! I’m hoping to send all my online friends a card next Christmas – I sent one to Pauline this year after she sent me one, but by then it was far too late to start sending any more out, unfortunately. I don’t know why I’ve never thought to do it before! I’ll definitely be setting myself a reminder in November to make sure I do it in time!

That bag is so gorgeous! I love the pattern! You’re always buying nice things, Nancy. Wish I had your fashion sense!

That sleeping pack is so cute!

  9. Cat ☆ January 23, 2017 at 9:10 pm

Ah! I see my card and photo there! 😀 Thank you for your card too!

I definitely feel more refreshed and productive after a good vacation, especially if it’s a long one. It’s kind of funny because you’d think it makes you less motivated to go back to work, but it’s the opposite! That was sweet of Tara and Chynna to send you stuff 😀 I really like the look of the Fossil bag you got too, especially its pattern. The snow photos at the end are pretty!

When I started to do my own taxes, I just paid for a version of Turbo Tax. It’s worth it! It pretty much takes care of most things for you 🙂 Good luck!

  10. Chynna ☆ January 24, 2017 at 2:28 am

Vacations are the effing bomb. I’m always planning my next one whilst I’m still on my current one, haha. It’s just so good to get away and relax and not have to think about work or anything.

I’m glad that you like your cup! 😀 I snorted when you said you cheated on Coach. Lolololoooool.

Beignets are gorgeous! Hmm, I really want some now. I love your photography! <3

LOL the usual Saturday Disneyland grind. I would love to trade for that. 😉

I should probably look into getting SSL enabled for my blog. It’s scary whenever I look at the WP report on the number of attempted logins that are not from me.
