This Week’s Roundup VIII

Weekly Roundup Banner
Work has been busy lately and I’m still learning a lot about IT auditing. Even though it’s not specifically security work, I can make some security references when it comes to auditing applications. E.g. Removing access from terminated users in a timely manner to lower the risk of having unauthorized access/transactions.

  • My boyfriend recently drove my car for the first time after our Disney date. Maybe he’ll change his mind and buy a Lexus after all 😋!
  • The gym had a personal trainer promotion and I bought a package to gain better insight on how to improve my exercise. There’s more to the world than just cardio and squats! 🤸‍♀️
  • Tara sent me a bottle of Sulwhasoo Overnight Vitalizing Mask to try out. It does some good to my skin and the slight ginger scent isn’t overwhelming. I like it as much as the Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask 😊.
  • I attended a Chinese New Year dinner (organized by the local Pan-Asian leadership organization) with my coworkers last week. The free lobster pretty much enticed me to go 😻.
  • My coworkers and I had a peer dinner at another Chinese restaurant this week and holla at the free lobster again! I love lobster.
  • I’ve been eating fewer carbs lately and feeling good about it!
  • I started time blocking my schedule at work as an attempt to be more efficient at getting work done. This method has been successful so far.
  • I filed my own taxes for the first time last weekend. Adulting has never been easier 😪.
  • Discovered two new drinks at the Cove Bar. My boyfriend is in love with a bartender’s custom drink.
  • Uni bowl = ❤️️❤️️❤️️.
  • My boyfriend bought me an Apple Watch a couple of weeks ago 😍. He’s the sweetest guy ever 😍😍😍~

Looks like you’re doing a lot of fun and different things lately! When I had a personal trainer, he taught me a lot! There is definitely more to cardio and squats 😀

I’m glad that sleeping pack is working well for you! It’s always nice when products work well for your skin 😀 And that’s so sweet of your boyfriend for buying you an Apple Watch! <3

Those dinners — yum! They sound so good. I could go for some lobsters, especially when they are free! Good on you for eating less carbs! Keep it up with being healthy. Those cocktails . . . I want!

Good on you with adulting with time blocking and taxing XD I am not sure if I ever time blocked before, but I am not sure if that will be efficient with my own work . . . hrm. Something to think about!

My personal trainer is teaching me how to step outside of my comfort zone when it comes to exercising. I think time blocking is useful if you have different projects to work on at the same time. I can see it being useful for your personal time (eg. read, game, and blog). 🙂

i like the way you edited your photos in this post! i feel like your image editing style changed since these feels more…muted and faded and i love them 😀

oh wow, an apple watch! that’s really cool. my bf never gave me anything like that 😛 …not that i’d ask for it. i value other things more (like the time we spend together, etc… more on the little things) so yeah, i’d rather spend time with him and i don’t care if he doesn’t buy me materialistic things :))
    don’t take it the wrong way though ^^;;

is it weird that the uni bowl kind of scares me? all those pointy things sticking out everywhere in all direction? Lol. i went snorkeling once and my snorkeling guide showed me this sea urchin, alive and moving and he just took it like that on his hand. i didn’t freaked out or anything but it’s like urgh…i don’t wanna get too close and gets stabbed? Lol. i have the weirdest imagination ever.

    • nancy ☆ February 13, 2017 at 8:21 am

It’s good that you have other things you value. Though, I didn’t ask my boyfriend to buy me an Apple Watch either. He initiated that decision. I know stepping on a sea urchin is painful but otherwise, it’s pretty safe to eat it on the table ;).

Squats are my favourite only cause my ass looks amazing when I do them 😛 It’s a shame can’t eat lobster (allergies) because it looks so good. I KNOW I would be bomb at cracking it open and scooping that meat out. Sigh.

How come I always read your posts after I’ve eaten and know I shouldn’t be hungry, but looking at your photos is making me hungry again??? Ughhhh, it all looks SO good!

Also, damn Adan went all out. He’s a keeper, for sure! <3

You look amazing with anything you do ;). I wish I have your skill when it comes to crawfish instead! It feels like origami for some reason XD. Come back to the Cove Bar~

I’m so glad that things have been going well for you lately! It looks like you’ve been doing a lot of fun things.

Apple watches are really nice and I’d love to own one at some point. I don’t really need one but I’m just fascinated by the technology that goes into one. 😉

The food and the drinks look delicious 😋

    • nancy ☆ February 13, 2017 at 10:53 am

These techy watches are super cool! It’s definitely not a necessity but still neat to have. :)!

  5. Alissa ☆ February 12, 2017 at 11:58 pm

Yay for little joys! 🙂 Btw, I’m craving for buffalo chicken and saw your photo. Ugghhh haha. Anyway, have a great day!

Good luck with learning about IT auditing. I am sure it would be another helpful subject to know about and like you mentioned does have a connection to security. 🙂

Hope it goes well with the personal trainer. It would be so interesting to work with someone directly and have that one on one support. They might be able to offer some great advice too. 😀

OMG, THOSE DRINKS ARE SOME KIND OF MAGIC! They look so amazing and cool. How do they make the colours change or is it the glass? :O

    • nancy ☆ February 13, 2017 at 10:54 am

The bartender threw in a glow cube into the drink :D. I have around 3 at this point XD. I learned a lot from my personal trainer. He inspired me to buy my own X-Heavy rubber band to do some leg exercises 🙂

  7. Cristina ☆ February 13, 2017 at 9:53 am

Seems like you did a lot of things. Congrats on getting into adult life. I personally hate it. And I always forget to pay my bills :(. But I guess at some point I’ll be getting used to it.

Also, congrats on the new watch. I hope you will enjoy it <3.

That food looks so good. Oh God, I am leaving now. I am hungrryyyyy *lol*

Take care and have a nice week <3

    • nancy ☆ February 13, 2017 at 10:55 am

I always try to consolidate my bills as much as possible (putting everything on my CC or just having automatic payments). Late fees are not fun at all :I.

  8. Kimmy ☆ February 13, 2017 at 11:40 am

Oh my goodness! All these photos of food!!! It all looks so delicious. I just ate lunch and I’m hungry again after this.

I’ve been wanting to eat more healthy. I don’t normally eat breakfast, and I’ve been trying to change that. I’ve read that not having breakfast does more harm. I just need to find a plan that works for me.

  9. Rezina ☆ February 15, 2017 at 12:15 pm

I’ve heard of Sulwhasoo before but they tend to be a little pricey for me, so I’ve never gotten something from them before, haha. I used to say you can never spend enough on skincare but that was before I decided to make saving my new goal x’D

That’s also awesome you’ve been trying to live a more healthy lifestyle! I feel like a lot of bloggers attempt to do this and it makes me want to make healthy living lifestyles too!

I hadn’t heard about time blocking until I looked it up and it seems like a really efficient and organized way to manage your schedule.

Congrats on filling out your taxes for the first time!

  10. Becca ☆ February 15, 2017 at 1:38 pm

Go you for getting a personal trainer! I’ve always wanted to try one, but I’ve never wanted to pay for it. And I feel awkward about someone watching me workout, even though I know it would be super beneficial! I know your workout game lately has been on point! It makes me want to do better with my working out!

I’m still having my dad file my taxes for me. I’m sure that I could but it’s just easier to give him everything when he’s offering to do it, haha.

And as always, your food photography is making me hungry. 😛

  11. Cat ☆ February 15, 2017 at 9:29 pm

That’s great that you’re using a personal trainer! I hope that goes well! I’ve been having fewer carbs lately too, mainly because it’s easier to cut calories that way. Meals do feel less heavy without them though, so that’s nice!

Ooh, yay for free meals. I had lobster recently too at a big Chinese dinner. I feel like they always have to include either lobster or crab for thsoe type of things! All of the food looks good though!

Nice job on doing your taxes already! I still have to do that… We’re lazy adults, and wait until the last minute, haha. That was sweet of your boyfriend to buy you an Apple Watch too!

  12. Georgie ☆ February 15, 2017 at 11:00 pm

    Ugh that purple drink. WANT.

I actually had uni for the first time last week… I thought of you! I didn’t like it though. 😞 The sweet taste was not quite my thing. Maybe I will try it cooked differently next time.

Yay for filing your own taxes! I do mine all the time, but I hear that getting an accountant can help you get more tax back. But you still have to pay for the accountant, haha.

So good that you are eating less carbs! I need to eat less candy… grr, my self-control is out the window.

Truly jelly of your Apple Watch! I can live without one, but of course the idea of having one is still very alluring.

    💪 WORK IT!
