Welcome Back, September
September 1, 2014

Happy September! Can’t you believe there are less than 4 months left in the year? The season of holidays is right around the corner~

It’s finally official that I’m going to continue working during the fall quarter. I was initially hired as a temporary/summer intern but management was pleased with my performance and offered me an extended stay. I’m thankful for the opportunity because I learned a lot from this company so far ☺. I’ll be going to work two days out of the week so hopefully it doesn’t get in the way of academics.

Speaking of academics, I finally got the chance to register for my 4th class! My class schedule for the fall is ~complete~ and it seems like I’m stuck with evening classes once again.. But it shouldn’t be that bad because I’m living on campus this time, right right? This means I can afford the time to go back to my room/place in between classes ☺.

I just reached my 2 month mark working in the company! On Wednesday, my department head sent me on an errand with a coworker to get a business notary stamped. Our first stop was to the LA County Clerk in Norwalk. After that, we made our way to Downtown to get that notary stamped by the California Secretary of State. The drive and lines were long but it’s business procedure. It turns out I’m the ultimate backup if there are no one available to make the errand run at work (thankfully). Afterwards, my coworker drove us to get sushi! Most rolls here are $2.75~$3.45/roll but it’s mostly California rolls with whatever topping you ordered. You pretty much get what you paid for except the sushi tasted pretty decent. The “roll” I liked the most was the Baked Albacore Lobster. It’s really a California roll with baked albacore, cooked shrimp (it has that lobster pattern), and masago.

September Expectancies
  • Summer break is ending! I should wrap up whatever I have in my “Summer Bucket List” (wrong usage, I know) left to complete.
  • Move-in and school is coming up in 3 weeks. Let the countdown begin?
  • A summer haul post soon to come~
  • A couple of event surprises ☺ (the good kind).

Whoo hoo! I’m so glad your company is keeping you! That’s really good that your “temporary” status is becoming more permanent! Good luck with balancing work and school. Those two things combined are never fun, but if you got good time management skills and are willing to sacrifice sleep at times, then it will work out ^^ Hopefully you won’t have to do the sacrifice part, though!!!

What are the four classes you’re taking? Curious minds wants to know! ^^

Good luck with tackling what’s left on your summer bucket list! Enjoy what’s left of your break! 😀

Time flies right! I still can’t believe we’re already in September. Feels like 2014 started just a while ago! (I say this every year, btw haha!)

Anyway glad you’re doing so well with your work and the company! 🙂 As long as you stay focused I don’t think it would affect your academics at all! 🙂

it’s crazy how we’re approaching 2015 soon. it’s crazy how time feels so fast now, wtf. i need to pause and breathe.

congrats on the extension! so does that means you’re fully employed by the company? one can only hope to be so lucky to be offered a fixed position while doing the internship… to avoid having to go for job hunting and starting from scratch– all those crap, y’know.

see, see, i swear you eat sushi more often than i do!! you’re so lucky omgggg! ughhh i haven’t had sushi in almost a month?? *cries* and i’m going somewhere too for 10 days soon so i won’t get my sushi craving this sunday 🙁 this sucks. i’m so sad. and jealous.

I am glad you get to stay with your job for longer. Awesome!

Congrats! That’s great that the company wants you to stay on longer 🙂 I’m glad your class schedule is complete now too! I lived near campus when I had night classes, and that helped a lot. I could go home after my earlier classes and then head out again later.

Good luck on your bucket list! I look forward to seeing what the surprises are 🙂

Congrats on the offered extension for your job! I’m sure it’s great having something [in addition to school] to keep you occupied and funded. 2 days/week are pretty reasonable commit-wise. Hopefully it won’t be too overwhelming with your fourth classes added.

    Congratulations on your job! :–)
I haven’t finished half of my 2014 Goals this year. Lol. I should prolly start crossing some of it, eh? Good luck on finishing your Summer Bucket List! I’ll be waiting for your haul! x

It’s great that you are being kept on at your job. You must have really impressed them. 😉

I think that is one of the best perks about living on campus – going back between classes. I do it all of the time. It saves me money as I can get lunch at home rather than buying it on campus.

It feels like those two months passed really quickly. I feel like I congratulated you on the job not long ago. But it’s even better they offered you a position. 😀 Congratulations and I am sure two days won’t be too bad of a workload.

I hated evening classes in university because I am not a night person, really, and because I had work every day during the day. It was very tiring. But sounds like it’ll essentially be close to home so it won’t be that bad for you 🙂

Also I can’t believe it’s getting closer and closer to the end of the year! (!!!!!)

Congrats on the hire off temp! That’s an amazing accomplishment 🙂 It feels great too, to know you’re a great asset to the company, right?

It’s definitely going to be so much easier between classes if you live on campus! You won’t have to deal with parking, etc. Plus, going home in between classes can be a great stress reliever ^-^

Over the summer, I’ve been saying that time flies, which it has. Ack! I’m not really ready to hear about the holidays! I still want to bask in the heat of summer! /sobs. Good luck with the company and enjoy your classes~
