Winter Haul
January 15, 2014

As mentioned on my previous blog post, this is my winter haul post. Even though winter technically started on the end of December, I will include a few things starting on Black Friday as well.

I wanted new clothes to wear for the upcoming fall and took advantage of some sales while it’s still around. I tried taking pictures of the first two tops but it didn’t work out so I pulled it from Hollister’s website. As for the tanks, I bought the solid green + polka dot pink tank from abercrombie kids and the rest from Hollister. I managed to save 40~75% on these tops and I’m happy with the savings. These tops are stored away in a box in my closet at the moment so don’t mind the wrinkles on the tanks ;o.

On Black Friday, I got a $60 gift card to the Windsor Store and spent them all on the first two bags you see above. I ended up paying ~$13 for the first bag and $0.41 for the second bag (including shipping). It was worth the wait on Thursday night ^___^.

Moving on to the lip products, I ran out of chapsticks and wanted to try out something new. I used Softlips before and I really don’t like the product since it melts easily from heat and the wax got stuck to the cover easily. Hearing about how other girls rave about the EOS lip balm, I decided to give it a shot and I actually really like it! It doesn’t dry my lips as fast and it’s supposedly organic so that’s a plus. On the side, I bought lip gloss from Gilly Hicks & Hollister out of curiosity and it’s not as bad as I thought.

The last items in my winter haul (at the moment) include plain journals. I decided to keep a private journal with some daily quick thoughts so I don’t forget about certain things. There are some stuff that is not worth (and shouldn’t be) posted online so this helps. I’m currently using a small journal from Moleskine (not in the picture). I wouldn’t recommend it since my pens bleed through the pages and it’s overpriced for that problem. I bought the ‘big’ red journal from Poppin’ with Ivy and the smaller journals from a stationary vendor from Shanghai.

In other news, my boyfriend made some delicious tacos for us last Friday! He cooked the store-marinated meat, tortillas, and green onions while I chopped the tomatoes, lettuce, avocados, and cheese. I wouldn’t mind having tacos once a weekly if I could :D.

Wow, you got some good deals.

A lot of good pens do bleed through standard paper, it seems like you need construction paper for a lot of pens.

Hey Nancy! Those stuff all look great. I like the two bags you got. Those aren’t really my style, but I still find them to be cute and aesthetically pleasing 😀

You know what I use for lip balm? Coconut oil with lavender essential oil. Those really work better than any lip balms I use, and it’s so much cheaper in the long run. Plus, you know exactly what you’re using! So if you ever want to try that, I suggest it.

And lastly, those taco looks so good. YUMMMMM. It looks so fresh and healthy! Next time you have those, I’ll have to stop by and mooch some! ^^

Oh they’re great! The blue top and the white bag with the black bow are especially nice! 0.41 for it? Really? That’s incredible! I wish I could find bargains like that!

Oh goodness that pink polka dot tank top is to die for. And the blue and white sweater on the far left is pretty spiffy, as well.

I like EOS lip balm ok (I used the lemon) but I prefer Vanilla Soft Lips- I suppose I didn’t have a problem with it meting because I kept that particular tube on my bedside table instead of in my pocket.

Nivea Kiss of Smoothness (the one in the light blue tube) is pretty awesome and holds up well in my pocket. And more and more, I am really appreciating Vaseline’s little container sold as lip care (exact same Vaseline you find in first aid aisle but in travel size container) because it is literally the best thing you can put on your lips. The case is a little annoying though.

Sorry for the long comment about lip balms but I try a lot of those products.

Nice haul! The purses you got a really cute and were at a great deal 😀 I also like the tops you got, especially the first two. I need to try out more lip products too. A few of the ones I use don’t keep my lips moisturized as long as I’d like.

I still like jotting down notes on paper once in a while, except I try to find really cute notebooks, haha. I always have a couple handy at work and a few more at home.

Yum, those tacos look good! For a while, my coworkers and I would go out for tacos every week, so we’re a big fan of them 😉

Ah, you’re making me want to go shopping and I’m trying to save money! Bad Nancy, lol. The clothes you got are cute, though! I love the bags, as well, and yeah my friend ordered some EOS lip balm cause they don’t sell it here and she said it’s amazing.

I’ve been wanting to get a Moleskine but I think they are way overpriced. I found a similar notebook for cheaper, anyway, and the paper quality is really good.

    TACOS 4 LYF.

A journal to keep some daily thoughts sounds like a perfect way to remember things. You’ve got a lot of good deals [and dishes!] working out in your favor. I wouldn’t mind some weekly tacos either, as long as they’re made at home, haha. xD

Nice hauls there! I generally don’t shop at Hollister but I love that jacket! It’s so wintery / spring!

I think I’m also going to make some tacos tonight… those pics of the eatery looks too good, so that will be on the menu tonight
