X Games 2013
August 3, 2013

For the past 2 years (2011 & 2012), I attended the X Games/X Fest. This year is no different; except for the fact that this is the last year the X Games is going to take place in Los Angeles before it moves to Austin next year. My boyfriend and I spent the day yesterday for day 2 of X Games by starting the adventure off at X Fest.

At X Fest, there are booths set up where sponsors/companies promote their products by having giveaways, games, events, demos, and etc. We went to most of the booths to check out what they got. Unfortunately, they didn’t give out beef jerky like the other years :(. Everything else was awesome aside of that. Some of the booths had cameras set up to take pictures of people and we had ours taken at a Myspace booth :D. We got some free “swag” including the HEXBUG starter kit that won’t be out until the Fall, lanyards, large bottles of Loctite super glue, samples of Texas Pete hot sauce, gas gift cards from 76, and more. There were also giveaways where we have to do a shout-out Tweet for a chance to win prizes. In this case, we did one for Pelican and we ended up winning! My boyfriend won an iPad case and I won a headlight.

After X Fest, we walked into the Staples Center to watch the Moto X Step Up + Speed & Style event. I usually watch the Moto X events at home and it looked even more spectacular in person. Instead of explaining what these events are in words, here is a vine post of the Step Up + Speed & Style. It was a really awesome & interesting event to watch and I don’t regret going. There was a race/heat where a competitor lost control of their bike and it flew to the side of the track during a turn. At least no one was hurt or had to be hospitalized from any of these events last night. During the Speed & Style event, one of the competitors strike a pose during the jump as their freestyle then did the pelvic thrust the lap after.

Overall, I enjoyed the X Games this year. I’m bummed out that it’s not going to be in LA anymore.. Hopefully it will return within the next few years. With that said, I’m going to San Jose for camp tomorrow!

I had never heard of X Games before so I’ve just googled it and it sounds like so much fun! Sucks that it’s moving to Austin but I’m glad you had fun. The photos look super cute, especially the one with the oversized glasses.

Sounds like you had a lot of fun! I saw your Vines as well 🙂

That sounds like a cool event to go to! I’ve never been to one of those live. I’m glad no one was seriously hurt after someone lost control of their bike. Yay for free swag as well!

I didn’t realize the X Games were coming to Austin though. That sounds like a fun thing to check out next year 🙂

    Have fun at camp!

That honestly sounds like a blast down there. I also knew that Rob Dyrdek and of course Chanel West Coast will be there too. I saw it on their instagram accounts yesterday. They video taped stuff and what not. I think they even video taped the one where the guy did a strike pose in the air or rather ‘fist pump’ and landed hard on the ground with his bike flying out from under him/her?

Anyway, sounds like you’re going to have a lot of fun camping in San Jose! I was planning on having that bbq this month with my dad so he could meet my boyfriend and his Grandparents, however, that didn’t really quite work out as expected. I bought a phone instead. :/ . So with that said I’ll be having the BBQ next month. I’ll be talking about it in my blog post.

But those pictures look awesome, and I’m glad you had an awesome time over at the X-games.

I didn’t know that these were actually a thing, so this is really awesome to me! (And if I commented your previous posts regarding it, then I forgot… my memory is shit these days.)

It looks like they have a ton of fun activities! The cool photo ops look like a lot of fun. :p

Looks like I’m gonna try to talk my cousin into going to Austin next year for a small trip!

Oh man oh MAN, I wish we had that kind of event in Houston. That would give me something to do besides the usual stuff.

When you head out for a good amount of time to a new place, I’m sure you’ll find something equally interesting to do, so look forward to it. 🙂 That’s my advice to you from someone who spent four years in Iowa and still had fun. It’s what you make of it.

And let us know how the camp goes! 😀

Ooh, that looks really fun! Hopefully you get to go to Texas to watch the next X Games to keep up the tradition…? Haha. And wow, congrats on winning a headlight (?!) and your boyfriend for the iPad case :p

That Myspace booth gif is awesome! If we had the X Games where I live, I’d totally go. What kind of car are you sitting in on the 2nd row?? I’m glad you had fun!
